  1. Hi guys, I am new to the forum and excited to see everyone’s rig. I picked up my 2020 RST Z71 5.3 last week. No mods yet, but a Gator EFX Hard fold is in the mail. I plan on tint,a 2in level and KO2 or Ridge Grapplers soon.

  5. Finally got around to getting my 30" light bar mounted behind the grille. It's only been sitting in my garage for 3 months! Needs to be moved up 1/2", but happy with the outcome. 2"x1/8"x36" steel bar mounted with a Westin EF2, wish I would have went with the B-Force series. Might end up taking this one apart and wrapping the faceplate black (not the cones obviously). Excuse the bugs/dirty truck ? Also shout out to WAMS for the insanely quick turnaround time on the Denali cluster upgrade. Oil change and rear diff service made for a long night before a 2000 mile trip coming up this weekend. Will report back with some pictures, everyone pray for my trans along this journey ?

  6. I have had my 2020 Silverado RST with LM2 3.0 Duramax for three months and love this truck. It rides great and has plenty of performance and I have averaged 26 MPG since purchasing. My low was 24.8 and my high was 29.8. Diesel for me is the same as the mid-grade gas which is what I used before, so fuel costs have lowered for me since I am getting much better mileage. My truck holds 7 quarts of oil, so the oil change is actually a quart less, so a little cheaper, oil filters are about the same. Diesel does not like any water in the fuel so I change my fuel filter every time I change my oil filter. Overkill but keeps me from worrying, so that is an added cost. So far i have not had to add any DEF, diesel exhaust fluid, the blue cap next to your fuel cap, but will someday so that is an extra expense. I just love the diesel sound, although the LM2 is very quiet compared to other diesels. I am pleased with my truck and would purchase another.

  9. My good friends retired father is selling his 2016 Sierra. It’s an SLE double cab with a 6.5 ft. bed. It’s 4x4 with the Z71 package as well. It’s silver in color, perfectly clean, with 40,050 miles. He has a color matched bed topper on it and he bought it from a Ford dealer last year with their premium care warranty that is a bumper to bumper till 75,000 miles or 2023. He said he’d sell it to me for $24,750...and help me out with the whole sales tax thing. It seems like a pretty good deal, but this is my first big vehicle purchase now that I’ve graduated college. What do you guys think? Anything else I should ask?

  10. I had a flat on the interstate two weeks ago on the back of my truck and suddenly realized that my factory bottle jack will not work with my 33" tall tires. Does anyone have a good replacement idea? Thanks Shane

  11. I went with Weathertech. I liked the AVS and ordered 3 different ones and all 3 came scratched up pretty bad. If it wasn't for that I would have just stayed with AVS

  14. I drive upwards of 200 miles a day and they are driving me crazy. I agree its partially the shape, but man the foam they used is very firm and like the OP said, the bolsters are really irritating although that might just depend on the person sitting if they are an issue, but I've had a hard time finding a way to sit that doesn't make my toes start going numb after 20-30 minutes. The other issue I have is that if i sit a certain way i can feel the corner or edge of one of the mechanisms in the seat, not sure if it is the vibrating piece for the warning system or for the heating or ventilation, but it digs into me if I'm not sitting centered on the seat. 18. Supply is limited, so they have less incentive to work out a deal. Also, how much a dealership is willing to work with you varies quite a bit from dealer to dealer. Also, in regards to the 0% for 84 (which I thought only applied to new vehicles), there are stipulations on how it can be used. When I was shopping around early last month, the price was going to be more if I opted to use that financing. If I used my own financing or theirs (and not the GM 0 for 84) they could give me a much better price.

  20. Kelley Blue Book says the Private Party Range for this truck is: $22629 - $25016. These numbers do not take into account the extended warranty or the truck topper which could be valued over $2000. If you like the truck, I'd buy it. Seems like a fair deal.

  21. What's the measurement from the ground to the fender. Should be around 36 1/2" - 37" Those tires are 33.2" tall and 12" wide so they will never fit without at least a 2" level kit. Here's a good place to check for fitment. Probably the cheapest place to buy wheels and tires on the www www.customwheeloffset.com Go to the gallery and enter your info and see what fits.

  25. The front is a tad nose-low actually. Yes, the level kit is just a preload spacer under the coilspring. The ride to me is virtually the same as stock. I'm happy with it.

  27. #1 white is ground. #3 brown tail light. #5 Left turn. #6 green Right turn. Any one of the lights to ground using a non LED or an LED with enough load will trigger the trailer cameras. I used a 3 pole switch and switched all 3 lights. I found you get a couple more light error messages. the messages do not affect anything. Just ignore or dismiss. When you turn the switch off, the trailer disconnected message appears. I used a Curt connector that gives you the jack in the bed of the truck for 5th wheel hook up. I spliced into those wires so there is no disturbing factory wiring. The four conductor shielded wire ran with the wiring along the passenger side and came up thru the passenger side panel and over to the drivers side under the dash. I made an angle iron bracket that I drilled to match a plastic bracket that is there and has a 3/8 hole. I wish I would have located the 5th wheel trailer jack on the same side as the 110 volt outlet. I positioned the jack so the swing up handle would miss it, but if a plug is in there the handle cannot be swung up without removing it. I don't have a 5th wheel but a 7 pin to 12 volt adapter gives me a source for my electric refer or coffee pot since the 110 volt 400 watt inverter outlet is too wimpy to do much. I have a 2020 1500 SLT without the Tech package. I do have the bed view camera with the two trailer camera inputs. Reading all the post, it seems the cameras work different for different trims.

  28. To elaborate on what @OnTheReel said, I think most folks here aim for 20% off MSRP when discounts are good and inventory is plentiful.

  29. So even more unrealistic than I thought. $17.8k (roughly 34%) off of a 2020, in June, after the plants were shut down for months and hardly any inventory exists.

  36. Turns out Shopchevyparts was a great place to order. $573 total including ground shipping and a 5% first customer discount. Ordered on the 27 and it came today, early morning so enough time for the install. Instructions are included, but visual install on a '19-20 is best in thiks video using another brand. Pricey but one of the very few bars using a custom brackets for the '19+ that permit you to reinstall and access the existing tow hooks. Only points to make is there is no way a battery ratchet removed the factory tow hook bolts.....I used a 3/8" air ratchet pressure pumped to 120 lbs and it couldn't break the bolts loose....needs a 1/2" breaker bar and 18mm socket. Real solid mount both the bar and tow hooks. And easier to remove the front plate to access the nuts on the mounting bolts and then reinstall the plate. Also added a piece of red plexiglass behind the hollow lettering. Now the sports bar, running boards and brush bar match. Install took almost three hours including a 1/2 hour rain break. Nice look with the lighted bowtie and brush guard.

  38. I got $12k off msrp on my 3500 DRW/Denali/Duramax in the color I wanted about a week before my state shut down. I was worried the bottom would fall out of the truck market and leave me feeling a little burned, but it hasn't so far, and I feel pretty fortunate I got the truck I got when I did. I don't think there are that many DRWs sitting around on lots, and I doubt that will be their focus when production ramps up. In any event, it looks like demand is still out stripping supply, so I doubt there is going to be any steep discounting anytime soon.

  39. First thing I got was the Borla S-type cat back with dual gloss black tips. Really wanted the ATAK, like on my 2016, but I guess Borla couldn't get the sound and performance they wanted. Added the truxedo pro x15 and BD trims red outline with black inside letter inserts. Thinking about the redline style lettering for the silverado and LT. Still a long ways to go but the journey is just starting.

  40. I think you have the top plate with the three studs off 180 degrees. The lower plate with the two holes is on an angle. You can clap the lower plate in a vise and twist plate in the rubber bushing. Or reorient the top plate so the angle of the lower plate is correct.

  41. @dieselfan1 I think it comes down to what are you looking for sound wise. I think that kicker sub will sound clean and blend well & round out you stock stereo. Plus I think the price is decent and kicker it is a reputable enough brand. If you’re looking for a bass strong sound and feel, something that hits harder you might want multiple subs or a larger single. JL has a nice 13 inch that I’ve heard powered properly and it pounded! I have two JL 10’s on a JL 1000w and you can definitely tell they’re there! Lol But may I just suggest looking at my boys website it’s where I got my enclosure. He custom makes enclosures for our trucks specifically with a variety of different enclosures, different subs and different exterior finishes from around $700-$3500. He will put everything together with or without LED lighting whatever you want there are a lot of options to choose from. Give him a look at TruckBass.com !! I’ll Post photos of my enclosure to give you a couple ideas of his work.

  42. You have more faith than most. Considering there’s already 2020 HDs with the carryover Dmax going into limp mode, I can’t imagine this 100% new engine being flawless out of the gate and probably even worse once it’s old, or out of warranty (which would happen instantly if you delete or tune it)... Seems like there’s always, ALWAYS one or two problems with a new diesel. GM has a much better track record than Ford, but I’m not sure I’d be willing to take the first year bullet on any new diesel.

  44. That sucks but if you ask me this shouldn't be expected. A window leak should never happen on a new vehicle. Its not like this is the first trucks they ever built and they had this problem on the last models.

  45. Yea, old fashioned pick-up. Did some light work to it over the weekend. Put on some marker lights and I too was about to cry when I was drilling holes in my truck Front Markers Put some led back up lights in the step, worked out well. I usually back into my garage, the regular bulb back ups just weren't bright enough. Did the back-up light / cargo light mod and put led's in, now I can light up the neighborhood. Of course I needed rear markers. And I thought what the hell, might as well put some on the inside too. I don't know why Chevy doesn't put some lights on the floor board ? Now inside lights up nice. These aren't the bright ones like I put on the rear step, I think these are 3watt and the ones on the step are 15 watt. At least that's what the package said.... Now I'm waiting on some resistors to arrive so I can put led's in the parking and turn signals.
