Forgot my new GoPro 9 Black, so had to have my buddy use my cell phone to capture video. It's still rendering up to 4k, YouTube takes forever for that, but I stitched it together and here was some fun from yesterday. This truck constantly impresses me. I think with Bilsteins and another inch up front, it will be perfect.4 points

Glad to see I’m not the only one after this setup. I did this to mine back in Nov, only I chose to conceal the cable through the rubber liner 90degrees down from the chargers output. I ran the wiring through the lid to a PD charger inside the center console that’s keyed to the ignition. I also 3m taped(w/ 3m adhesion promoter) for bonding, then added a trim ring to take away some of the “puck” look. Next time I have some clear coat mixed up I plan to paint the trim ring to match the plastic surround. To finish it off, I have a 3D textured 3m skin coming for the MagSafe charger that will match the leather of the console. I recommend the cplay2air module(I’ve got mine inside the glovebox) which will allow your CarPlay to work wirelessly while using this style setup. ??4 points

Purchased this 2021 Trail Boss LT on 12/15/20. Up to today I have done in this order: Ceramic Tint Front Windows, X-Pel Paint protection on front end, Rough Country: catback exhaust, bed mat, dual 10” led grill kit, HD2 running board, 1.5” leveling kit. BFgoodrich KO2 35x12.5R18, rear GM mud flaps, WeatherTech window deflectors, GM illuminated emblem, GM interior trim kit, GM ThinkWare 2 channel camera, GM auto dim mirror, GM cargo net (waiting on tonneau cover to install), GM black tailgate emblem, eBay Z71 black emblem, Cold AIR Inductions intake, JLT oil catch can, Amazon LED turn signal, reverse tail lights, and license plate lights, Amazon black lug nuts, Apple MagSafe iPhone charger in center console lid (used 3” hole saw to cut a hole in plastic under rubber mat and then hot glued charger in the hole under the rubber mat, works awesome with iPhone 12 Pro). Still waiting on Rough County soft roll up tonneau cover (on back order), GM bed side graphics decal, 3D raised tailgate letters, Amazon 6” antenna, GM tailgate gap cover. (My wife doesn’t know how much I spent on mods...... yet!) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk3 points

Cut and past from the GM notice posted elsewhere: Some 2020 Silverado, Sierra; 2020-2021 Camaro; 2021 Corvette, Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, and Escalade models equipped with the 5.3L engine (RPOs L82, L84), 6.2L engine (RPOs L87, LT1, LT4, LT2), or 6.6L engine (RPO L8T) may have a misfire and engine noise condition. The Check Engine MIL also may be illuminated along with several possible DTCs, including DTCs P0300, P0106, P0506, P3189, P318A, P318B, P318C, P318D, P318E, P318F, and P3190. These conditions may be due to a broken valve spring. If it’s determined during an inspection that the engine has a broken valve spring, a cylinder leakage test on the affected cylinder must be performed. 5.3L and 6.6L Engines On 5.3L and 6.6L engines (RPOs L82, L84 and L8T) built from June 1, 2020 to October 7, 2020, if cylinder leakage is not observed, replace only the affected valve spring. (Fig. 13) 6.2L Engines On 6.2L engines (RPOs L87, LT1, LT4 and LT2) built from June 1, 2020 to October 7, 2020, if cylinder leakage is not observed, replace all valve springs on both cylinder banks.2 points

So you've never driven a 5.3 with a 10 speed? Where is all that displacement taking you? Over speed bumps at the mall? Stop light to stop light? Where exactly do you use that "ton" of more power?2 points

Poking around my truck I found this under my rear seat by my spare tire tool kit. It is zip tied to a hook and looks like it’s there from the factory but it’s empty. Anyone knows what goes in there. I was thinking maybe lug nuts security bit?1 point

I was just holding my phone, so sorry about the shake and lack of professionalism here but you can get an idea. This is a BONE stock exhaust on both parts. Only mod is an S&B cold air. 3/4 throttle on both and a quick "blip"1 point

Same here. Smooth as silk. I never know when it's shifting. You can feel the shift in Sport Mode but that's how it should be.1 point

Had a Yukon and now have a Sierra. I miss the Yukon... it is easier for parking lots. Always used a trailer when hauling with the Yukon, which is a pain, but it keeps the mess away from the vehicle. I would not go Yukon today though. They are just too pricey. Every man has to call it the way he sees it though.1 point

Had a 2003 yukon xl, 2009 sierra denali, 2011 suburban, and now I have a 2015 2500hd cc. If I didn't tow a heavy trailer, I would have a suburban. I wish they still made the 2500 suburban that could tow 12k like the gmt800s.1 point
-
I really like the look of the Yukon AT4. But knocking on the door of $70k and you still only get the 5.3. Go Denali or go home. ?1 point

It's for when you're following a ford and parts fall off it. You can pick them up for the guy. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk1 point

Oh man. Don’t I hate knowing I bought something this expensive with an issue like this. Thanks for the info though.1 point

Do it. I am trading in my 19 TB on a suburban diesel in a couple of months and wont look back. If I need the bed capabilities ill buy a flat bed trailer, I have the space to store it so not a big deal. Id get an At4 if they offered the diesel, the Elsd is a big selling point IMO but the diesel is more desirable to me. Paying for a standard color also drives me nuts but whatever. I disconnected my battery during install, took my time and it lasted right at 2 hours. Just 2 hours total is all you need it disconnected for.1 point

Preview. Coming along nicely. Will need to check fitment when installed. Sent from my LM-G820 using Tapatalk1 point

New political leadership hostile to oil = stronger focus in EV sector. Tesla trading at new highs essentially every day, and their market cap is higher than the nine leading automakers combined. I don’t want an electric vehicle at the moment, but it does seem like GM is making sound business moves to follow the future money in tech and “clean” energy. Don’t really care for the new logo but don’t care about it either. They don’t put it on the fenders anymore.1 point

Well, thanks everyone for all the info. ALL the INFO! ? ..... puts lid back on Pandora’s Oil box....1 point

I have had mine on for over 8k miles with all ports open and have zero issues or codes???? make sure you disconnected battery for 2 hours and take off filter life in your settings area on dash1 point

Got smacked by a rock on my way home today, made a really nasty chip right in the center of the passenger door. Good news is, this kickstarted a nice little winter project. Gonna get some touch up materials, fix that, and I'm also going to be tackling some small areas of surface rust I've discovered under the tailgate and driver door-jam. On a positive note, it's been precisely a year since I powder coated my chrome bumpers and replaced my OEM grill with a black one and no chips whatsoever! ?1 point

You can get a door keypad installed. https://accessories.gmc.com/product/keyless-entry-keypad-84182981?year=2021&make=GMC&model=Sierra3500HD&categoryId=980311 point

Interesting question. Stake pocket anchors are rated at 250 lb a piece. That would seem to answer the question for the sides. As for the bulkhead don't know.1 point

Have the iPhone 12 Pro Max and my truck has no wireless charging so did the mod to the armrest - (center lid indentation) bought the MagSafe charger and double sided tape - works great.1 point

Just grab a large zip-lock bag, put it over the filter and let the oil run down into the bag as you pull it off.1 point

I’m running 1 from http://www.alldrivelines.com. It’s rated for 175mph with 800+hp. If you got the steel 1 already, you don’t need to upgrade. Find a local shop that can balance yours. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Yep, my 2018 with 31000 miles had a bad starter. was on national backorder at that time if that tells you anything ?1 point

The McGaughys because you can go to 9". That how I roll. Once you lift it you'll wish you went higher. Always happens. I'm already thinking about a 1.5" body lift and bigger tires and I just lifted mine in April 2020. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk1 point

After replacing my 5 year old battery with a Duralast Platinum AGM battery, I added a little piece of mind, with a NOCO battery maintainer. I don’t drive much so this should keep it charged.1 point

New to doing my own plugs. Do they require setting the gap or certain torque spec or having them timed at the right torque angle? Or are they just screw in and go? I'm coming up on 70K soon and would like to do my plugs early as well. Let me know, interested in how critical what I asked is. Hate that so much. Washed and looking sexy in black, then covered in road salt by time I even get home. She's just a dirty hoe I guess.1 point

I went from a 2016 5.3 with a 6 speed to a 2020 5.3 with the 10 speed. WHAT a difference. This truck drives so much better. Smooth shifting and holds gears great going down hills. I would not hesitate to get a 10 speed.1 point

It ended up being bad cats, we replaced them and all is well. Now it hauls around a pop-up cabover camper. Thanks guys!1 point

I’ve been a gm guy my entire life but if I were considering a new gas HD truck I’d probably go for the Ford 7.3. Tons of power and a 10 speed with several gear options.1 point

Frequent fuel filter changes? Im 9,000 miles in and it still says 83% remaining .... DEF, cant argue that. But, its use is not obscene ....1 point
-
You use to be able to tune it close to 6.2 power with a 5.3. Up until recently E-85 would do the trick. A little shopping could get you a killer deal on a loaded 5.3. A little tuning the right fuel your there. Saving a ton of money. When working I did that about every two years. Buying a 6.2 and running reg gas doesn’t make sense.
