  1. I would assume you are referring to on road applications. I have legalized the use of cargo and bed lights on my 2000 acres of pasture and crop ground. But only during times the sun is not shining.

  5. Just received my custom tune from Lew the other day, only put a few miles on it so far so I cant give much of a review yet. But I can say its a different animal. I will give a review after I put a couple hundred miles on it.

  6. It seems with so many sellers of aftermarket towing mirrors I was hoping to get a thread going of member reviews. There are so many options and sellers at all ends of the price point (Trail Ridge at IAAuto, American Trucks, Boost Auto, etc. and then on the other end of the spectrum you have the Amazon and Ebay sellers). Yet, we know the aftermarket mirrors are not being manufactured in US for a specific retailer and are being sourced overseas and/or sold via private label (Trail Ridge). I suspect the fully optioned power folding mirrors being sold at the higher end of the price point could be sourced for much less if a side by side product comparison could be done to determine which of the lower priced mirrors being sold on Amazon and Ebay are getting sourced and sold at the higher prices. I am hoping that some members can share their reviews to help since a side by side comparison would be difficult and fairly costly.

  10. I see the biggest problem is keeping the power on. Multiple family members have houses in Texas, some built in the 70s and some new. None had a problem with anything. They also didn't have to rely on the state or city to keep the houses warm. This is why people need to have a backup plan for power and now it sounds like water. Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk

  11. The long block is identical same cam, valvetrain, crank, pistons, everything, part number for part number the differences are intake mani, exhaust mani, tuning, accessory routing difference in power, I believe after seeing nearly every l86 dyno on the internet is....the entire exhaust path of vette, the intake path before the manifold, tuning, drivetrain losses. it doesnt matter much because if you modify any of those things with aftermarket parts, they will far surpass oem equipment on the vette.

  12. I purchased mostplus brand off eBay for $250. Everything works great and these were for the power folding as well. The glass does shake a bit going down the highway but nothing terrible. I couldn’t bring myself to spend 600-800 for mirrors

  13. Interesting map from a geopolitical sense, it only reinforces my belief that China's ultimate goal is Russia's natural resources once they weaken us enough with their nefarious exports of bio-weapons (re:covid) and illicit fentanyl. Putin is making a huge mistake in trying to align himself with Xi, he should try to strengthen ties with the USA, who knows, maybe he has, but in our political climate here as of late that flies about as well as turkeys as Mr. Carlson found out.

  14. I am so glad you mentioned top tier fuel! The mechanic said the same thing. I am a bit embarrassed that I didn't know what the heck he was talking about. Well, I knew some companies had better gas than others... I knew some companies had more additives than others... But, I didn't know anything about Top Tier Fuel. I looked into the matter once I got home and sure enough... So, anyway.. learn something new every day... Lucky for me, Costco is on the list and there is right one right down the road from me. So, to put the matter of a catch can to bed for once and for all (there are endless threads about the subject out there), and since the inception of the 6.6 there has been lots of questions about whether its built in oil separator is enough, I think I can safely say: 1. Almost any DI engine can benefit from a can. 2. The warranty issue cant be answered in a black and white way. You must figure that one out for yourself. 3. Almost every DI engine should be fueled with a top tier fuel if you can. By the way, I had a can on my '17 1500 and still have two full mason jars filled with oil that I dumped from it over three years. I am a big believer in them. My quest was about this new 6.6. There is a lot of marketing material out there stating that there is a built in oil separator and they spent a lot of time and engineering trying to solve the issue. For me, case closed.

  16. Yea still no luck, managed to sneak the pos clamp on directly to the battery and that allowed it to blink yellow at me which means its not charging. Gave up and bought the harbor freight Viking 4A auto charger. Hooked battery back up to the truck, clipped that thing on for standard battery winter mode (as it got to a warm 17*F today) and let it charge. Fully charged and should be good to go. I think that stanley trickle charger is just junk and not rated the best review wise (i got it black friday like 2 years ago for $5 so eh. Can always salvage the clamps from it)

  21. Picked it up today. Transmission was semi-warmed up and shifted smoothly, no bumping sensation when coming to a stop and no clunky shifts. True test will be the next time I cold start it. No more ticking noise, just that minute ticking coming from the alternator pulley or something. Wasn't cheap but they replaced rods, manifold, and 8 lifters. Fresh oil now of course too. Hoping its a new truck with another 100k left in it.

  22. Just got Trail Boss on Monday, so not alot of driving time so far. Initial impressions: Trail Boss drives much better than ZR2. Interior on Trail Boss much nicer and much more room than ZR2. Seats in Trail Boss are much more comfortable than ZR2. Gas mileage of trail boss so far has about 1 mpg better than ZR2. Both trucks look good on exterior. ZR2 does have locking rear and front diff, which is helpful for extreme off-roading. Trail boss has power sliding rear window, ZR2 has manual sliding window which was a pain while driving. One disappointment on Trail Boss is the lack of auto-dimming mirror, I am already looking into adding one. I found connector inside of overhead console. Just for a truck that listed over 59k, it should have auto-dimming mirror. For me that is a necessity. Thanks to this forum for giving advice on adding one. 10 speed Transmission huge difference over 8 speed transmission.

  23. The climate is always changing. A couple weeks ago the greenies were freaking out because there was no ice on the great lakes. Superior is 33% frozen now. Probably be 50% by next month. It always averages out. This whole climate change B.S. is just another way the democrats expand government, take your money, and do nothing. Hell John Kerry thinks he can control the weather. Talk about a dumbass.[emoji1782] Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

  25. Just joined the LED Swap Club. Reverse, license plate, and front turn signals. All from LasFit, ordered via Amazon. Total came to $72 with California taxes. Only took a few minutes to swap them all out. Cameras don't do it justice. The difference between LED and halogen is HUGE! Since there's a bunch of pics of the reverse lights already floating around the forum I decided to show the difference of the front turn signals. Drivers side is LED. Passenger side is halogen. When I had them flashing it was very clear that the halogen bulbs were not only dimmer, but slower at achieving full illumination too. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

  27. I totally agree with boettcher40, I also have a Lew Tune and my truck was like Really? What it should have been from the day I drove it off the lot. Lew is top notch with his customer support and his tunes.

  28. Have no experience with any other remote tuners, but I can vouch for Lew. His customer service is top notch. The two main things I noticed; the TCU tune is phenomenal and isn't searching for gears all the time when you stomp on it, and the low end torque is snappy like it should have came from the factory. My butt dyno approves! ?

  31. Hey, got my oil sample back from a 3rd party after this oil cooling line blew all the oil out of the engine and it came back good no traces of any metal.? Good peice of mind to have after this incident. If this happened to you I’d recommend getting your oil tested too. Cheap to do for reasurance

  34. I put the borla cat back exhaust that gm offers on my 5.3 elevation, part number 19419439, and although the quad tips look cool, I think it sounds terrible. It sounds like I went down there and poked a bunch of holes in the stock muffler. I am not new to after market exhaust, but this is my first (and last) Borla setup and it is by far the worst sounding exhaust that I have heard. If thinking about after market exhaust, I wouldn’t waste my money on this expensive piece of garbage.
