  1. All I can say is that if you are going to a dealer of any make these days you better take a tube of K Y with you!

  2. This is because they are intentionally limiting production right now to try and keep inventory at covid levels to keep the high msrp prices in tact. Gm dealers near me have been slowly building inventory back even with the production stops. As i have said elsewhere on this site these makers are looking at some rough times ahead, especially ones that think the all ev approach is the correct one.

  3. Love seeing all of you with GD trailers. We love ours! Coming up on 2 years of owning it. Plan on keeping ours till the kids are teenagers. I really want a 5th wheel Reflection... but can't justify it as we need the truck bed for my 120lb dog and meat smoker.

  4. Looks like a AT4 package truck to me. The amber LED's are likely because of the remote start. Even my older 2016 Silverado runs the amber lights (turn signals) when the remote start is on. Once the truck is running though they will switch to the regular day time running lights which are white.

  5. A couple of things I've seen on the financial news the last couple of days have struck me regarding GM. First off yesterday Liz Claman from Fox Biz interviewed Mary Barra and when Mary was asked about reoccurring revenue streams she broke into a smile that would have put the Joker to shame. I'm pretty sure that Grumpy would label that a greedy smile. Mary specifically mentioned subscription services for super cruise. If GM's marketing arm monitored these forums they would realize how bad people hate having to pay to use something they've already purchased. Secondly this am a financial advisor said he would be shorting GM's stock given their all-in approach on EV's. The headwinds that renewables face and the shortcomings of EV's are well known, yet GM plows blindly down this path like a lamb to slaughter. The last sentence being my perception of his sentiment. Your thoughts?

  6. I did the same, but used the wife while I was under the truck. I used pb blaster. The creaking sound was coming from the hanger. Once it dried the creak was back. It doesn't bother me one bit that replacement of the leaf packs was over kill. Been 1500 miles now, without 1 creak. Not my job to solve, when under warranty, even when I tried explaining to tech where the sound might be originating. Empty or overloaded during this planting season, the sound is gone. I am happy, but this shouldn't be an issue to begin with. Leaf packs look heavier duty than I remember...

  8. It’s a wonderfully playful bike. Far more capable than I am. Much faster than anyone needs to go. Plenty of rider aids to keep me from getting in trouble too. I’ve put about 20,000 miles on it over the last few years and have nothing to complain about. Thanks for the info. I appreciate it.

  9. 21-NA-138 1..3 (nhtsa.gov) I don't think they are thicker rather, they have a different graining on the plastic face of them per the bulletin. 87838974 is the SRW number. Here's the other one on re-torquing the plate - 20-NA-022 1..3 (nhtsa.gov)

  10. Found it last night. Upper passenger side headlamp. Bet that's cheap. LOL Crazed it but no hole so it still works and didn't let water in when I was washing it.

  11. Call GM customer service line directly, ask to open up a customer report/complaint. Explain what has happened, see what they say. Perhaps you can negotiate a buyback directly through GM BUT you will need to give them the opportunity to rectify the issue. While that is happening, start looking into lemon laws in your state and see what your options are. I am assuming you don't want to take the hit that trading in can do. One thing that will be important is that you keep all documentation from the dealer and also start documenting every time something happens. Keep a little notepad in the truck specifically for when you come across technical issues, write the data and time along with the symptoms experienced.

  13. Hi Francis, Gen5DIY makes a headlamp harness that will allow your SLE with the standard halogen headlights to work with the SLT/Denali headlights with the LED accents or 2016-2019 2500/3500 HD headlights (pretty much the same thing): https://www.gen5diy.com/collections/14-19-sierra-headlight-harness/products/14-15-sierra-non-slt-to-slt-hd-headlamp-harness Hope this helps!

  18. I missed out on a couple at Laura (like hours)... But I had a backup somewhat local and I found that they quit making them for a while so I took the plunge. Not as good good of deal but hopefully I'll have a place to fit me in if I have any repair needs I went with GMC this time due to my distaste of current Chevy design.

  20. But the shifts put you right back in the power band on a 10A vs 8A? The T1 is heavier and has a bigger overall footprint so i would think it would be right around the K2 6.2s . I also think the stock tires are also one diameter bigger on all models. I have had 2 K2 6.2s and now my 2019 6.2 , they both feel pretty much the same to me. I mean its the same engine output so if there is a difference its very little . I still cant believe we are going on 10 years with the same engine outputs.

  22. Wait until someone is finally brave enough to do an all things considered gas electric comparison. I’ve read articles that claim up to mid size Hybrids beat electric in pollution. Then add the stress of range. Instead of trying to force a new idea down our throat. Let good old entrepreneurs take the risk of perfecting and reap the rewards. The one automaker who has a reputation of near perfection is slow walking electric. Perfecting hybrids. I tend to listen to winners. Not wishful thinking.

  23. Jet, at first glance my initial thought was "that trailer is nothing behind that truck" And that's exactly the point of HD's. Whenever I've had anything behind my HD, I knew I was in charge by way of overwhelming force. Can't put a price on that kind of confidence. We had a pretty decent size trailer boat (6000#) I pulled with my 3500 Silverado some 20 years ago. Went all over on week long trips to Lake Erie and the TVA lakes in Tn/Ky for many years with friends. And more to your point, made friends that I'm still good friends with today even though we've scattered all over the states. It's funny how most of them have transitioned to campers. One guy even sold his house when he retired, bought a class A coach and never lets grass grow under his tires. Interestingly, I was talking with some friends the other day and it's when I realized, "I've always been in a truck family. All my best memories were fishing and hunting with my dad, my granddad, uncles and whenever we talk about old times that's how we dated the period, buy what truck, color, who had where, someone always had a memory of the role a certain truck made at this or that moment of life" .... There's a lot to American life and trucks. i sent a photo to a buddy of mine in the UK, he said "that's a beast but dude, you could barely drive that here our roads are so small and you'd never find a place to park it" .... I thought, that's kind of sad, you'll never know what your missing.

  24. This is the video I should have watched from the beginning explaining everything you all explained to me. How in the hell I got my wires crossed so bad I will never know. But thank you all for being patient with me as I'm totally new to this camping, HD truck and well, everything else....lol....

  26. I am very frustrated with GM. Being a good Canadian right now watching NHL playoffs, I see lots of Chevy and GMC truck commercials. But when you go to a dealer lot there is not a hell of a lot to look at. And the prices are nuts.

  27. Hello Grumpy Bear: "The 2015 4.3 transmission cooler is in the COLD side tank of the radiator. Your engine coolant temperature is taken on the outlet of the motor. Your water thermostat is 207 F and the radiator will pull 25 F-35 F out of the water's temperature depending on season, load and speed (of air through the radiator). Mid 170's with the stock thermostat. " That's what I thought. Thanks for chasing away the endless detritus one inevitably finds within the shadows of time. And yes, I had come across your detailed temp graph before. That's always reassuring to have someone who takes the time to put in that level of information. Additionally, for those not lucky enough to have the 4.3L like we do: my 2015 has the plate style retainer on the Transmission bypass valve. I can't remember where, but apparently some 2015's might have the clip retainers instead.

  29. Toyota are the smartest people in the room. They nailed Hybrids.

  30. You are correct. Toyota has also been lambasted for their non-committal stance. They had previously stated they wanted more PHEV's and were hammered by the media. I feel like they are the only ones run by sane individuals anymore.

  31. Just so it doesn't appear that I'm picking on Mary exclusively, Mercedes is advertising that they'll be all electric by 2030, sooner than GM I believe. Toyota is the only manufacturer that I've heard that is taking a more cautious approach to going all in on EV's and keeping their options open. I'm not a Toyo fan but I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot more of them on the road in the 2030's if the other manufacturer's don't carefully mothball their ICE engine plants so they can nimbly reverse course on what I believe is a very foolish business plan.

  32. GM used to be my first choice. Impala used to be my favorite vehicle, rear drive. That’s been replaced by a Genesis. Regular extended cab trucks were my choice for a pickup. They’re all but extinct. I secretly prefer a mini van for a trip vehicle. GM doesn’t make one. When I look at car prices for a reasonably equipped vehicle of the past. They fall into the lower mid 20K at adjusted pricing. Not many reasonably equipped GMs in that range. Other brands do. GMs betting on electric. I don’t believe that’s a good move.

  33. One other thing I meant to mention, it's incredulous to me how anyone got to be or keeps their job as a CEO of a major corporation while ignoring the first axiom of financial well being that even 5th graders are aware of, i.e. not keeping all your eggs in one basket.

  34. THIS. Even for service. Our GM dealer gets $135 an hr for labor, double the price on parts, and $100 on shop fees on every visit. And apparently, they like to sit and think about working on it for half a day, with the clock running, before they do anything. In the old days, there was a multi-page invoice with activity breakdown by hours and parts with part numbers. Now there's one page with a big bottom line number and sign here to accept vehicle as is to release them from any future obligations, even if you drive it a block and it grenades because they forgot to put oil in it. New and improved GM process, they say.
