You have to play around with your phone settings. It took me forgetting my phone and repairing it multiple times to get it right and to work. I honestly couldnt tell you exactly what I did just kept messing with stuff. I've had to re do it twice when my phone did updates, very frustrating.
I looked into mine today and found that it is easily accessible to clean out a spray some fluid film in to protect the fender. All you have to do is open the door. Lol I was spraying the fluid film through the drain hole underneath and that's when I noticed it was open from the back side.
Mine whistled everytime I accelerated. I wired the exhaust flapper in front of the muffler to the open position just for the heck of it and the whistle completely disappeared. I had originally thought it was a squeaky belt as well.
I wired the flapper open on my 19 5.3l single exhaust and there is no drone. Actually I cant even tell a difference in sound at all. Reason I wired it open was because it was causing the exhaust to whistle, now it doesnt whistle. I havent done anything with the screens.
Truck looks good! I know what you mean about a black truck only looking that clean for a couple days. It's a battle keeping my black 86 k10 dust free and it lives Inside all the time. Lol I appreciate all the pictures from you guys. I think I'm gonna mock up the gm ones when they come in and see how i like them and decide from there. Thanks
Have you tried turning on the cargo lamps when backing up at night in an area with no surrounding light? I know what you mean about the image being distorted and bright. I have found that turning the cargo lamps on helps to clear up the image a little bit in areas with no surrounding light.
Too bad they couldnt make them a direct bolt on replacement that uses the same hole layout as the smaller factory ones. I ordered them but I'm still not sold on the look yet, will decide once I get them and hold them up and see. I have the offroad side steps and after one winter the paint was all chipped up in the front.
Ok thank you, I was more concerned about the uncoated drill shavings dropping into the fender but it appears that the bottom portion of the fender isn't sealed to trap them. I live in the rust belt where salt is over used on the roads in the winter. I guess i could use some zinc cold galv touch up if I decide to go that route.
I don't have the 3.0l diesel my 19 sierra with 5.3l had a whistle that would occur during the same scenario that you described. I wired the flapper in front of the muffler open for the heck of it and the whistle has completely disappeared while not noticing a change in anything else. I had a thread in the engine and exhaust section but it didn't get much response. I will attach that thread in case you wanted to take a look.
From my understanding and from watching this video it appears that its purpose is to quiet idle noise. I cant tell a difference in noise with it open or closed. If it has another function than I would be interested to know.
Does anybody else notice a whistling noise coming from they're exhaust? Since the warmer weather I've been driving with the windows down and started noticing it everytime I accelerate. Very noticeable when something is along side the truck. I have the 5.3L with single side exit exhaust. I wired the flapper before the muffler open and the whistle completely disappeared. Only difference I notice with the flapper open is that the whistle is no longer there. Just curious if there's a problem with the flapper on my truck or if they all do it. Thank you.
