What have you done to your K2 today?
2018GMC replied to block8head's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado & Sierra Mods
I got a new color matched sharkfin antenna on ebay. Was $17 shipped. I noticed the new color matched one has a cut on the rear of the seal. My 2018 factory black one has a cut on the front with a inner straight flap of rubber to help keep water out. I took the 6 screws out and swapped covers to keep my original antenna hardware and seal. The cut on the front is the updated seal. I guess it makes since since the roof is sloped and water would gravity drain out. Of course it would get pushed in by driving and that’s why the inner flat rubber damn is behind the cut. -

Truck originally had big fuel gauge and no tach. I found a cluster 10 years ago and swapped it in. Tach works fine 40 degrees and above. Anything below that and it won’t work until the cab warms up. Guessing it’s the gauge or the circuit board on the back. I’ll have to do a driving video when I get a suction mount. -

Thanks Jim! Silverado K10 shortbed 400 small block, turbo 350 NP203 full time 4x4 converted to part time. Has the usual cancer in the cab corners and one rear quarter and front fender wells. I keep it shined up and fluid film the cancer until I can afford to get that fixed and a repaint. From the looks of things it’s going to be awhile ? -

I have a 2018 NHT Max Tow 6.2 with 9.76" larger rear axle. Seriously thinking of adding a rear swaybar. I already put on 5100 all around but still get alot of body roll on corners and my truck is mostly all highway except to get to the camp site. What rear swaybar options have you tried or recommend?

Cold Air Intake 5.3 question
2018GMC replied to Aaron1085's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado & Sierra Mods
I temporarily took my AFE Momentum GT off and put the stock box back on. I was getting a headliner buzz / rattle which If I push on or near the overhead console it would go away temporarily. I Dremeled out another hole in the stock box to match the metal fender cutout. Not sure how much that will help airflow on stock box but it was a free mod. I may end up selling the AFE but will run stock box for a bit and see if rattle is still there. -

Trans, x-case, diff fluid changes???
2018GMC replied to heiner921's topic in 2014-2019 Engine, Driveline, & Exhaust
If trans has a dipstick its a 6 speed. 8 and 10 speed = no dipstick unfortunately How many miles on you 8 speed when you had fluid flushed? I have 11k on mine and it shifts fine. If it acts up will get it flushed or before the powertrain warranty expires. Wonder if there is an expiration on the TSB? -

2016, 2017, 2018 are the years compatible with your 2019 “classic” K2xx Generation. 2014 and 2015 are K2xx gen as well but with different front clip, no CarPlay, android auto, etc

Anyone know what’s new for 2021 light duty and heavy duty trucks? Duramax 3.0 I6 gets max tow option? 2022 minor exterior / interior refresh? K2xx was refreshed in 2016 (3rd year in) with new front and rear clip, CarPlay, android auto, other minor updates.

Depends on how much steel is on the lot. Possibly more discounts in April if sales continue to slow.

Yes I run 32.7” BFG k02 275/70/17 barely rubbed stock and no rub with blistein 5100 3rd botch from bottom for 1.85” lift in front. Left rear stock height but put in 5100. -
Sierra 6.2L exhaust
2018GMC replied to Red Zone 4x4's topic in 2014-2019 Engine, Driveline, & Exhaust
I did the same thing but with the 14909 100% stainless vs 12909. removed flapper kept resonator. Direct swap. Have muffler shop chop stock muffler out and weld new in. sounds mellow and nearly stock at cruise. Cold starts and anything above 1/2 throttle or 3k rpm it sounds like a proper v8. im keeping resonator since it is flow through and helps eliminate drone. -
Yes there are complaints about the 8 speed on the internet. GM made millions of trucks and SUVs. Hundreds of thousands have the 8 speed and they are working fine. One downside is no dipstick so you can’t easily check fluid level or color. Get the service history from a dealer. Has it had a complete fluid exchange with the new fluid? Take it on a long test drive. Accelerate in traffic then let off and see how it shifts. Occasionally mine has a light clunk but nothing like the loud harsh bang some have experienced. Get it on the highway. Set the cruise and see if the rpm jumps or holds constant at a constant speed. You want it to hold constant. I’m happy with mine but I only have 11k on my 2018. Good luck and happy hunting!

Winter to summer tires. T1XX AT4 wheels on K2XX
2018GMC replied to 2018GMC's topic in 2014 - 2019 Silverado & Sierra
Watch out for Chinese counterfeit TPMS sensors all over eBay and amazon. They are even printing counterfeit factory looking acdelco bags and boxes. I found lots of “genuine oem” sensors with a star on one side of sensor which is not oem. factory sensors are made in Mexico or uk and have a 3C on one side. I found a set on eBay that were removed from oem wheels for $30 shipped set of 4. check your build sheet or glovebox to see if your truck is 315 or 433 MHz. I believe 315 is much more common on 2007.5 - 2018 -
