4x2 - 18/24 4x4 - 17/22 http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2013/06/gm-gives-official-ratings-for-ecotec3-v-6.html Silverado and Sierra 4x2s will offer an EPA rating of 18/24 mpg city/highway, making them just as good as the Ram 1500 with the new Pentastar and eight-speed transmission in the city and only 1 mpg less than the Ram on the highway. In 4x4 configurations, the new Silverado and Sierra half-tons will get 17/22 mpg city/highway, the former being the best city number in the V-6 full-size pickup segment. Additionally, according to the the most updated spec sheets, maximum payload capacity for either pickup will be 2,108 pounds, and maximum towing capacity will be 7,200 both class leading when equipped with a V-6.

I never thought the 5' 7" bed looked right on a half ton. The 6'6" bed only makes the truck 10" longer. I'm going with a 6'6". At least on the new trucks they didn't change the fender flare shape of the rear wheel well on the 5'7" bed. GMT900 they should have just left the fender flare the same as a standard bed and let the gas cap run into it. Like the new trucks. IMO Of course and don't get me wrong, I really liked the overall style of the GMT900, I still prefer the shorter rear door look on the GMT900 to the new larger rear door but I will prob get used to it in time.

Put some miles on the new 2014

Nice to see the truck is getting advertised mpg right away. Will probably get even better after a few thousand miles -
2014 GMC Sierra 5.3 Towing 23ft 5500lb Airstream Review

Autoblog 2014 GMC Sierra first drive http://www.autoblog.com/2013/06/12/2014-gmc-sierra-review-first-drive/ "Overall, we found the interior of the Sierra to be a very serene place to watch the miles pass – forget all of those noisy and harsh-riding full-size pickup stereotypes. The seats were comfortable, with a multitude of controls that allow a wide variety of human frames to find their optimal driving position. Acoustically, and this was something we repeated to ourselves several times during our many stints behind the wheel, the Sierra seemed as quiet as a late-model luxury sedan (credit plenty of sound deadening, noise-absorbing fender liners and triple-seals on the doors). But even though GMC touts the interior as upscale, we still didn't consider the choice of materials top shelf. The best way to put it: Even though GMC has clearly made an effort, the interior still falls far short of an equivalent $50,000 luxury sedan." -
When you said good quality I was wishful thinking they strengthened the sheet metal. What were the wavyness problems in the GMT900? There is a nice 6.2 '13 sierra near me that is very tempting givin the current incentives.

You want to know what else is lame ass? You have to step up to SLT for a 6.2 GMT 900 you could get a 6.2 with SLE trim. While I am on a rant, why the hell does the all terrain package REQUIRE bucket seats? I prefer a 40/20/40 seat. One more thing, Why the hell can't you get color matched grill and bumpers for extra $$? Probably because GM can get more $$ out of us by only making that available in a $2080 "package" -
Sheet metal appears to be thicker? Did you do the lean-against-butt-test?

Stock tire 265 65 R18 = 31.6 With RC lift kit 285 70 R17 = 32.7"

I've been building a 2014 an I want the hill desent button but the only way you can get that is with the z71 package. Not sure I can justify the cost if I'm going to possibly put bilstiens on the front for leveling. If I just put a spacer kit then I may do the z71 package since I would be keeping the stock ranching shocks. I wonder what the max tire size is stock and with a front level kit?

I am not a fan of black either. It looks great on the truck but is hard to keep clean and is the most prone to fade, showing scratches etc. As soon as the 6.2 is avail to order I am going to see if I can order mine In the special order 2013 mineral green metallic. I was going to hold out for the 8 speed but screw it I can't wait any longer! -

2.5 in front Remove 1" stock lift block from rear and replace with 2" Personally I would just want to level the front. Sounds like the front need 1.5" of lift to level if you are leaving the rear stock. I wonder what tire would fit then? Probably not the size they list with their lift kit

2014 Silverado High Country Edition
2018GMC replied to NARDA1's topic in 2014 - 2019 Silverado & Sierra
It's too bad they require you to order the SLT trim for the 6.2. I would have been happy with an SLE trim and saved like 4k. -

Wow, very nice truck! Please keep us updated the more you drive it. Do you notice the benifits stiffer frame? Hard to tell? How is the electric steering? Can you do a burnout? Maybe once it's broke in...

GOOD NEWS! Car and driver Review The 5.3-liter V-8’s full 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque are delivered close to redline, meaning it needs to be worked to hustle. Hammer down, the V-8 motivates the 5605-pound Silverado crew cab to 60 mph in 6.7 seconds and through the quarter-mile in 15.3 seconds at 92 mph. We dig the noises the V-8 makes under hard acceleration and the lack of any noise at all when just half its pots are boiling with the cylinder-deactivation feature http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2014-chevrolet-silverado-1500-53l-4x4-crew-cab-test-review

2014 GMC Sierra 5.3 Towing 23ft 5500lb Airstream Review
2018GMC replied to 2018GMC's topic in 2014 - 2019 Silverado & Sierra
Not sure if that is good or bad news lol. It's been killing me waiting this long! An 8 speed in 15 model year would make sense to fight fords 2015 atlas and ram already has an 8. I too thought the Denali would have an 8 this year. The current 6 speed is a good transmission but when I'm spending 46 - 50k I will be keeping this truck a hell of a long time. Decisions, decisions. -

Every review I read keeps mentioning that the 8-speed transmission is coming soon. If the 8-speed is going to be available model year 2015 i will wait and buy a 15 the summer of 2014. if the 8-speed is further out then i will buy a '14 this fall when the 6.2 is available. What are your thoughts, rumors, etc? -
Truck Trend review looks to be full of positive remarks. http://www.trucktrend.com/roadtests/pickup/1306_2014_gmc_sierra_first_drive/index.html Car and driver Review We recently tested a Silverado LTZ crew cab equipped with the 5.3-liter and it returned a 0–60 time of 6.7 seconds. http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2014-gmc-sierra-1500-first-drive-review Pickuptrucks.com video review
