  2. Nice informative post Justin. Thanks for sharing.
  3. I bet the final numbers will be more impressive. I think most people were expecting an increase the same or better than the 5.3 increase. We may see this type of increase with the final numbers. It's better to under-promise and over-deliver than to over-promise and under-deliver. 5.3 Gained (Gasoline) 355 HP = 315 + 40 383 TQ = 335 + 48 6.2 Possible Gain (baised off at least 5.3 gains) 443 HP = 403 + 40 465 TQ = 417 + 48

  5. Nice job on the selectable transfer case in the Denali! (2WD / Auto / 4WD Hi / 4WD Lo) Now we just need the 8-speed!
  6. GMC press release http://www.gmc.com/content/dam/GMC/global/master/nscwebsite/en/home/Vehicles/Future_Vehicles/2014_Sierra_Denali/Model_Overview/02_PDF/GMC-Sierra-Denali-PR-FINAL.pdf
  7. Yes it can run on 87 but it will pull timing, etc and reduce performance. The new 6.2 is even higher compression than the outgoing so running 87 vs 91 should be a noticeable difference. I live at 7000ft so I may be a be able to run 87 and not notice much of a difference since the air is thinner at this alt. I can't wait to test drive a new 6.2! The big decision is a 5'8 bed so the truck fits in my garage or a 6'6 bed to better haul my dirt bikes but then the 50k truck sits in my driveway :-(
  8. All of you few lucky green GMC / Chevrolet owners, what is your interior color? Does it go with the green exterior well? The few green trucks I can find either have ebony or tan / cashmere interior. I wanted to hear your thoughts.
  9. That is a great looking Green GMC. I never knew that color existed until I saw a green silverado the other day, hell I prob wod have bought that but it had a lift and rims + marked up 10k. Ill take a stock 6.2 GMC in MGM. I wonder if you can special order a 2014 in that color? I thought I was going to buy a mocha steel metallic but now I want mineral green metallic!
  10. Speaking of colors that should be available http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/150871-the-only-2013-gmc-sierra-mineral-green-metallic-on-the-forum/
  11. One thing that stuck out in the review: The sole transmission available in all 2014 Chevrolet Silverados is the six-speed automatic carried over from the outgoing truck. It's a respectable and capable gearbox, but the ratio jumps are still too wide when towing, despite the huskier new engines. The anticipated (but not confirmed by GM brass) upcoming eight-speed transmission will be a welcome addition. I wonder what gears were on their test truck. 3:08, 3:42, 3:73? We have had 4 speed transmissions for a hell of a long time, 6 speeds have only been avail in GM trucks since 2007 and they are already being replaced by 8 - speeds in the near future.
  12. Yes the small seat sucks to sit in but it's nice to have an extra spot if needed (kid can fit in there no prob) i think the trucks look roomier with the bench anyway. The bench is definitely avail in SLT, it has power controls both sides and heated for driver and pass. I just see a lot of options stating - when ordering 6.2 you must select this and that option.
  13. Congrats! What did you order? Trim, options etc I will be placing an order when the 6.2 and 8 speed are avail. I hope you can get 6 passenger seating in SLT / 6.2. The brochure lists the 6.2 only avail in SLT trim and most SLT options end up removing the front split bench :-(

  15. Thanks for the reply. Have you driven a GMT 900 for comparison? If so was this new truck amazing or just a marginal improvement over the last gen?
  16. PLEASE elaborate! Since the 8 speeds aren't available at launch PLEASE tell me they will be available with the 6.2 this fall or at least with the Denali trim. Since we have heard no news of the Denali I am thinking they are going to roll out the 8 speed similar to the 6 speed rollout. First 2 years of production 8 speed is only available with the 6.2 Denali.
  17. You are thinking of ford or Cummings. Duramax diesels have only required 10 qts for an oil change for years. http://www.duramaxdieselspecs.com/lmm.html I am used to gas V8 motors requiring 5qts. More oil is better for engine cooling, oil life, etc. this is a big Change from gmt900 requirements.

  19. Thanks for the info! I thought the oil capacity was interesting. 6 qts for the V-6 and 8 qts for the V-8's! Thats Duramax oil capacity requirements! EcoTec3 4.3L EcoTec3 5.3L EcoTec3 6.2L Engine oil (qt / L): 6 / 5.6 (Dexos 5W30) 8 / 7.5 (Dexos 0W20) 8 / 7.5 (Dexos 0W20)

  21. Hey, I want to hear the 6.2! OPTION: Active noise cancellation system The active noise cancelation system offers an enhanced audio experience. The system: Actively listens for unwanted engine sound through microphones within the cabin Generates an opposite wave sound from the audio system speakers to cancel out the offending noise Provides good sound control that allows engineers to tune the engine for optimal fuel efficiency at all rpms This option will not be available until Fall 2013 This feature requires the available 6.2L V8 EcoTec3 engine.
