I've replaced my OEM side mirrors with tow mirrors and after years of storage have decided that they're taking up too much space in my garage. If you have use for them let me know I'll sell them to ya. Not looking to make money, just free up space. Came off a 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE Z71. They're power mirrors only. No signals on them and aren't heated.

Debating on buying a leveling kit from Ready Lift ---> http://www.readylift.com/review/product/list/id/109/category/608/ Was wondering if any one has this already or knows much about it? Never bought anything from Ready Lift or looked into them to much. Any reviews from any one? Its going on a 2008 silverado 1500 LT 4x4 which has the 20" factory rims I want to level out the front with the rear. Front measurements are 35.8" and the rear is 38.5" Then to throw on 285/70/17s Toyo open country. Will the truck sit good an leveled now with this leveling kit from Ready Lift? Thanks!

Help with tires - 2008 silverado 1500
the_canadian posted a topic in 2000-2014 Silverado & Sierra HD
Hey so i was thinking of buying some new tires for my truck, no she isn't lifted yet but i really wana grab me some toyo open countrys mt or duratracs. Ive never EVER been good with tire sizes an understanding them, back spacing, off set ect ect.. Why? I dont know..never really looked into it i guess lol. Called a few places looking for tires those tires an they carry them but they said not in that size because they aren't made in that size. Dont know if thats true or not but whatever. truck has stock 275/55/20's So my question is.. What size would i be able to upgrade to an still be able to keep the 20's If i cant keep the 20s what would be the next best rim size for it, i wana try to stay with 20s i like the size of em. You guys mind giving me a few recommendations with examples. And if its only achievable by doing a level kit, any recommendations on kits too? It has 2wd/4wd Auto and 4x4lock if that makes a difference, i know it does for suspension lift kits but shouldn't for a level -

HI, I want to do the 100K tuneup on my Silverado and have so many questions and don't really know where to turn. Do I need to change my PCV valve? How much Transmission fluid do I need to flush my automatic transmission? Which Transmission filter kit do I need? What fluid do I put in my Front Differential and how much? What fluid do I put in my Rear Differential and how much? What fluid do I put in my Automatic Transfer Case and how much? I have the recommended maintenance list from the manual but there doesn't seem to be specific fluid types or capacities and I can't seem to find it in the manual elsewhere Someone said I could do a VIN lookup but I dont know how to do that. Is that something I can do here? My Vin is: 1GCEK19Z66Z272273 I have a picture of the glove box sticker with a bunch of 3 letter codes but they don't bring much up from internet search. Any and all help will be very much so appreciated, Thanks.

I have a 2003 GMC yukon XL 1500 that I have had since new. it has 139750 miles and has been a great truck. Probably 4 years ago, the light that tells you whether your in P, R, N, D, 1,2,3 etc went out. Not really a big deal. Now it seems that all the gauges will go out intermittently. Everything from the Speedometer, Tach, fuel and temp gauges all went out. Next time I drove the truck, the gauges worked. This has happened on two different occasions recently. Any thoughts on what could be the issue? I noticed there was a recall out there for this problem a few years and 60,000 miles ago.

Hi, Im looking for help with my 2007 gmc sierra 1500 classic pick up truck, I started to feel a weird vibrating light howl or humming in which I think its coming from the drive train. When Im driving on a 50km speed limit road I noticed it, when I give it light gas it does it but when I let off the gas it goes away.. Any ideas what this could be ?? Thanks

This grille came off my 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT Texas Edition. I swapped out the chrome grille with a standard black one I bought from ebay. This grille is in perfect condition and can be shipped anywhere in the lower 48 states. I would rather sell locally because it is a big box but I can get shipping quotes for those interested. I am selling this grille for $300, which is $100 less than the same grilles are selling for on eBay so I'm not looking to negotiate on price. I am willing to possibly exchange for different wheels you may have for a Silverado though. If you have any more questions feel free to call or send a text message to me on my cell at 936-828-1985. Have a good day.

I am looking for help with my 2007 Gmc sierra 1500 Classic, the transmission had started slipping on me a few days ago, 1st gear works perfect then it gets high rpms and doesn't want to shift into 2nd I have to ease off the throttle with speed to slightly catch either 2nd or third, then even when I'm going 90 kms the rpm is at 3500.. There's slipping going on and it won't shift from 1st to 2nd.. Any Ideas what this could be ? Also my tranny fluid levels were good but the oil smelled burnt.. Thanks

I just replaced my handles and mirror caps on my truck with some OEM replacements that were painted. So for sale I have the OEM handles and mirror caps. Everything for the most part is flawless except for the mirror caps and one part for the rear handle I have included pictures. The mirror cap clips brake 90% of the time from what my buddy told me at the dealer, they typically re-install them using epoxy or double sided tape. Because of this I'll sell everything cheap for $125 plus shipping. Please feel free to ask if you have any questions. Comes with installation instructions, install is super easy, all you need is a torx driver and a sturdy piece of fishing string. Takes about 20 mins. Light scratch on edge These are tiny little dimples from being dropped on the concrete when I missed the box, they are on a rear door handle and when installed will be on the underside and won't be visible unless you look from below.

I currently put a 6in BDS lift on my 2003 silverado 2500hd i also put all new ball joints, tie rods, shocks, wheel bearings, and control arm bushings. well i put it all together and when putting the torsion bar keys back on it seemed way to tight. i snapped a breaker bar and bent a ball joint press. i messed around with it and then was able to get it in easier. well now i have no suspension? put your truck up on jack stands with the stands under your frame. that is what it is like. well maybe i turned the key down one to many notches...? no! if i move the key up one notch the truck sits on the floor. it also looks like the torsion bars have a bend to them? i am very confused and do not understand why this is happening i could use some help. thank you. Also i currently do not have my motor in it btw.

Purchased a skyjacker 2" leveling kit for my 14 silverado.. Long story short. I struggled with the driver side for quite sometime and finally managed to get the strut out and the spacer mounted on. I went ahead with the reassembly and started to tighten the top 3 new bolts to hold the strut in position.. I heard a slight pop noise but really didn't think anything of it.. I continued to tighten them one by one.. Then I heard it pop again.... I noticed the spacer had a gap.. It wasn't resting flush with the top of the strut. I decided to take It all apart to check... Sure enough this is what I find!!! Also.. I went to the other side and it went so smooth.. My question is I'm riding around leaning to one side lol... It rides fine & doesn't pull at all... Will I be ok with it like this for a day or to till I get my new spacer? I just didn't want to have to take it all apart again to put it back together stock..

Hey everyone! I'm new to this forum so please forgive me if I am posting in the wrong spot. I have a 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 4wd SLT that is lifted 11" (7.5" RCX suspension and 3" PA body lift) sitting on 37" nittos. I have just recently swapped in a 6.2L with a big nasty cam, a 6L80 6-speed transmission and 4.10 gears...now i'm getting really bad axle wrap to the point of it shredding my u-joints and damaging the diff yoke. Does anyone know where I can find a set of traction bars or ladder bars for my truck? I have looked everywhere online but I can't seem to find anywhere that makes them for my bodystyle. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks

I have a 2003 GMC Sierra 1500hd SLE with 95,xxx miles. I starded having an issue where my truck would shift into 4hi by itself after about 20-30 minutes of driving. I used to be able to just put it back into 2hi. Then it became more finicky and I had to shift to AUTO 4wd, then into 2hi. Now it rarely lets me shift into 2hi, and never into 4lo. I am a first time truck owner and have only owned this truck for 6 months. I think it may just be an electrical issue because the truck started having some random electrical issues. Whenever I use my turn signals my left signal indicator stays illuminated for 5-10 seconds. And when I turn on my cabin light it flickers sometimes. I also have an issue where whenever I go over 70 on the highway my CEL flashes. I'm a broke college student and I refust to take it to the stealership until I have done everything I can to fix the problem myself. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hello all, Recently (couple weeks ago) I replaced both knock sensors when my MIL came on and threw code P0332 (knock sensor bank 2 low voltage input IIRC). I knew that only one sensor was affected by the code but I replaced both just because. I did however notice that the bank 2 sensor connection was easier to come off than bank 1, which I think may come into play later on in this story. Of course, both knock sensors were submerged in water, which I cleaned out. I did NOT do the silicon-dam method, as I discovered this after I was done with the job. I did not replace the wiring harness either. The MIL was off for at least a week before it came back, P0332 again. Yesterday I did some diagnosis to try and figure out what is going on with this. Bank 1 and bank 2 sensor (ohmed out at the harness plug on intake) both show a resistance of 99-100 kOhm (or Ohm, can't remember) with the engine off. I then checked the response of each sensor. Bank 1 and bank 2 sensors both showed a change in voltage when tapping on the block with a hammer, which is good. I then started the engine up and measured the voltage change with RPM change for each sensor, and here is where it gets interesting Bank 1 sensor fluctuated from approximately 50 mV to 150 mV with a quick RPM sweep (friend stabbed the gas pedal quick to change the sensor output) Using the same technique, Bank 2 sensor fluctuated from approximately 50 mV to 100 mV, which was significantly different than the bank 1 sensor. Bank 1 and bank 2 pins from the connection on the intake manifold to the PCM show very similar resitances between them, signifying that there should be no short between the PCM and knock sensors themselves (unless the sensor harness is bad) That completes all of the diagnostic trouble-tree steps I have taken via AllData. The next steps are PCM replacement, which I do not want to do. I realize that the sensors may be designed to pick up specific frequencies and as such, different responses under the same conditons, but the sensors have the same P/N if I am not mistaken, so that must be the characteristics of the mounting location, right? The fact that the bank 2 sensor electrical connection seemed to be loose compared to bank 1 has me wondering about the sensor wiring harness and the fact that the connection may be poor/intermittent. I am going to order one and replace it because it's a relatively quick and inexpensive job to do, but I was wondering if there is anything else that would make sense? Thanks in advance!

I have a 2005 Sierra 1500 Crew Cab that has had 3 AC compressors go out on it. The first blew in July 2011 and was replaced with a new, not rebuilt, AC compressor. That compressor blew in June of 2012 because the condenser wasn't replaced. Replaced the condenser in July 2012, a month after the 2nd compressor was replaced, when the mechanic realized that a simple flush wasn't enough to remove the crap stuck in the condenser where the first compressor blew. The compressor that was replaced in June of 2012 just blew, about 13 months after it and the condenser were installed. All parts were supposed to be new since I didn't want to deal with issues of a rebuilt compressor. Do I have a bad mechanic or is there something else going on? Really don't want to throw another $1000 into a condenser, compressor, and everything else if it is probably going to fail in about a year. Truck has 101k miles on it, so am I needing to worry about other large issues that could come up besides the AC? Thanks for your feedback.

Hello Fellow Chevy Truck Drivers, I have had my 2010 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT 4x4 Z71 5.3L V8 since new. Since then I have replaced all tires with new Goodyear Assurance TripleTred tires in September of last year (2012). I also had brake fluid changed and the back drums and pads serviced. Recently, my brakes in the front (sounds like both) squeak when I apply them to come to a stop. Please note though that they start squeaking about halfway in my commute to work which is about 1 hour in length or 42 miles one way. The area I live in his hilly but not too bad. I live in the Piedmont area of NC. I do not tow anything nor do I drive "like I stole it", at least not in a while since I haven't volunteered with a fire dept. since 2003. I thought about just going ahead and changing my brake pads on the front but I am hung on the subject of what brand to use and ceramic or not. Any help or suggestions or ideas about what is going on and what course of action I should take would be greatly helpful. Thanks in advance. Ricky
