So I have a 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500 LTZ Z71. Im looking at swapping my stock mirrors for aftermarket tow mirrors. My stock mirrors have all the functions, power folding, heated, turn signal. I have found a bunch of tow mirror set ups that have the reverse light in it and running light/ turn signal, but they do not have the power folding functions. Will this affection my computer and throw a code getting the ones without power folding function or affect anything? I read some reviews that say it could but others say ill be fine.

Does anyone have any experience with the quality of the custom z71 off-road badges that you can find on eBay or Amazon? Or does anyone know of a good legit website that makes them? Looking for a different look than red and black. Any help is appreciated.

Hello all, This is my first post on this forum. Last year I bought a 2009 Chevy Silverado 1500 Ext cab LT with a 5.3l V8 that is Flexfuel capable. Well, I never intended to use flex fuel, but last week, I did so on the spur of the moment. We drove about 3/4 of the tank gone. Then as I was pulling up to the gas station to refill before going out of town for work, my truck's idle began dropping and feeling like it is about to stall out at idle. This happens whether park is engaged or not. I filled up, put some seafoam in my tank and drove about 1.5 hours to work. It continued to idle like this all throughout the trip and even later when I went out and sat at idle while on my break. What could be the problem? I can't imagine that an engine that is meant for flex fuel could get that messed up by it. A side note: we had the transmission rebuilt in January, just in case that makes a different. It has only been a few weeks since last oil change. All fluids were checked and filled up at that time and have been checked a couple of times since.

I am doing a little bit of research on possibly getting my 2015 1500 Silverado cermaic coated. My truck is black so it shows dirts and dust fairly easily. I have always applied wax to my previous cars just had heard about ceramic coating through social media. The product that I have heard the most is called CeramicPro. If anyone has used it on their vehicle how did it turn out? Any help is appreciated.

Lately, my Silverado VortecMax has had a bunch of numerous issues. I recently charged the battery and it suddenly died again trying to turn the truck on. The engine rebuild was also a complete failure. When the Silverado reaches 25 MPH whilst driving it, the truck starts to vibrate. Smoke especially comes out of the engine despite that it's not overheating at all. However, the car on the outside and inside are in pretty good shape except it has a dent on the side.

Now that winter is over, I have noticed that when the radiator fan kicks on there is an unusual light grinding noise. I am curious if anyone has had this issue, or knows if there are readily available fan bearings that I could try to replace those before spending close to $300 on new fans.

New to the forum and thought I would inquire if anyone has some advice in regards to a starting problem I am having. Thank you for reading this. For starters, the SUV is a 2009 GMC Yukon XL SLT 5.3L SFI Flex Fuel (120K miles and oil change light is on, changed oil but have not reset light indicator as I have been playing with starting issue). For the last few weeks it has had a strange intermittent starting issue. When you turn the key to the acc position the battery reads correctly and matches my meter with all electronics working. However, when I would turn the key to the next position (ignition). It would just click. So I would turn it off and then retry with no luck starting. When held in full ignition position it would click and click and then start. as long as you held it in place for a good 5-10 seconds. I checked the battery again and ran tests on it. Brand new battery and no issues. I checked battery cables and grounds with no red flags. I removed the starter relay and jumped 30/87 and confirmed the starter itself has no issue. The starter kicks on and sounds good. Yesterday, I went to start it with a fully charged battery and it would only click. Doors would try and lock and unlock during the process but it would not start. I got out of the vehicle and locked the doors. use the FOB to remote start and the vehicle started with no issues. I got into the SUV and tried the key, and it started right up. Started it a number of times with the parking brake on, parking brake off with no luck in recreating the problems. However, I feel that it's only getting worse with no real answers and no way to recreate the problems or how to solve. Which is why I am here. I have googled quite a bit and read a number of posts here, but no real solution. So I am hoping someone can point me in the correct direction. I love troubleshooting but this is bit annoying. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hey guys, first post on here and I've got something that stumped me 100%. I have a 2005 silverado 1500 flex vin code Z. It Idles rough it has terrible acceleration, wide open throttle it takes off like nothing is wrong. It misses on 7 every time, misses on 2 every other time, every other cylinder misses here and there. No misses when in park and rpms are kept about 2500. CEL flashes most the time when accelerating (except WOT) otherwise the light is on solid. It has 220k on it and I have replaced alot of parts. New parts All 4 02 sensors OEM Plugs OEM wires OEM Fuel pump OEM Throttle body cleaned 3 stage fuel system cleaner BG Brand Air filter believe it or not OEM again New transfer case (unrelated issue) I have covers the base of the intake with brake cleaner multiple time, no signs of leaks. I've had the smoke machine hooked up 3 to 5 times and again no signs of leaks. At this point what is the best route to take? Remove intake manifold so it's easier to get to and replace the main grounds behind the heads and replace gasket at the same time? Replace the pcm? Replace throttle body maybe? Any other suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I know a few people have had this issue with their HIDs jiggle in the projector housing so I figured id make some videos and put them on youtube for all to see. I talked to GM Canada and they wanted me to drop my truck off for a full day to diagnose the problem and pay out of pocket. Im now thinking its a better idea to put LED's in instead. Has anybody done this before? Ive found lots of videos of the 2014/2015 LED conversion but nothing for the 2018. Thank you.

I drive 2000 silverado 1500 5.3 vortec. Well here for last month or 2 notice decrease in power etc. Requires more throttle going up hill, rough idle or inconsistent idle, and also on it occasionally will hesitate or the best description is it will start like cutting back like a train (chuga, chuga) with almost no power it just cruises the speed I'm going mostly in lower rpm from a stop.Ive changed fuel filter, oil, oil filter (just because why not) today i got my cats replaced and exhaust system installed. Problems still occurring, so that only leaves a vacum leak or maybe a bad sensor (mass air flow)?? Idk please help or point me in right direction!! Thanks in advance

On two separate occasions I've had to drive with my low pressure light on when I know my tires aren't low. The first time was on a 4 hour road trip (not ideal) and currently, for the past 3 days. I use two gauges when I fill my tires. The gauge on the pump that reads a little high and a handheld that reads spot on. I've used them both extensively on different vehicles and I know how they read. I'll put 37 psi in all my tires when it's cold and the truck will not read it above 29. It only does this when the temp outside is close or below freezing. I could understand a few psi difference but it refuses to raise about 29 no matter how much air is in there. When it's warm it goes right back to normal. I know these aren't the most reliable sensors but maybe there's an easy fix out there.

Surely someone must make some nicer looking/dressed up coil cover/valve covers for the new style engine by now? Can't find a thing online. Would be nice to spruce things up under the hood a bit with some chrome or carbon fiber or just something different. Anyone spot anything anyplace???

My 2004 Silverado 1500 AC is not blowing out of the top vents, it only blows from bottom. I took it to get diagnosed and asked for name and part number but when I looked online I couldn't find it. He said he it was called a "control head' part number 599-009. What can I do to fix this?

So I was driving my 2014 Chevy Silverado and without giving it gas just driving it started to make a like tapping sound from the engine area. It’s hard to explain but it was making a tapping noise then when I would give it gas it would go away. It’s not all the time but it comes and goes.

Hello all, I am thinking of upgrading my stock halogen headlights to something that is brighter(either led or hid) and has slightly more throw on my 2015 silverado 1500. I was wondering what brands are reputable and reliable. I am looking for something that requires little to almost no modification of the factory harness. If anyone can point me in the right direction or provide thier own opinions it would be greatly appreciated

Hi everybody, my name is Andrew and I’m going to be looking at and hopefully buying a 2003 Silverado 1500 this week. It has 69,000 miles and seems to be in good shape (minimal rust). I do notice that the truck has plow mounts. Being that it’s a 1500 should the plow mounts worry me that he plowed with a 1500 and possibly prematurely damaged the truck? Or am I overthinking lol. What are some things I should look for when I see and test drive the truck? This would be my first time purchasing a truck and I don’t want to get screwed hahaha.

Hi everyone, I'm new to the form and hope I'm doing this right. I was looking for some input on an issue I've been having with my truck recently. After the truck gets warmed up and drove around for a while it will make this grinding/screeching noise from around the transmission area. It will only make the noise when the vehicle is in drive/reverse and I am stopped on the break. The noise goes away immediately after it gets switched to neutral/park or when the truck gets moving with a very minimal amount of throttle. I do also have a cosra cat back on the truck. The only mod done to the truck. I've had it in and out of the dealer at least 4-5 times and of course the issue can not be replicated while the vehicle is in there possession. The one time that it was making the noise when i brought it in the shop manager immediately was pointing fingers at the exhaust. He was trying to tell me that it had to do with a back pressure issue since its not the stock exhaust. After i got home and looked at gm's site for there cat back and it states that it relieves back pressure up to 66% so now i know he is just making stuff up. i also recorded a video clip of the noise it was making that i will link. If anybody has any clue on what the issue could be it would be greatly appreciated.

About to install a 2" motofab under strut leveling kit on monday, but am very concerned with torque specs. I can't find the exact torque specs for everything I need, and I don't even know how important it is for everything to be torqued exactly to specs. It's a 2007 Chevy Silverado 1500 LTZ, 4x4. How important is it to be precise when torqueing? Does anyone know where to find all the exact torque specs for my make and model? Has anyone ever done one before, and can you provide insight? Thanks.
