hello thank you for letting me join this forum. I am looking for insight or anyone with experience in converting a 2500 to 2500hd. I have a 2000 2500 ext cab 4x4 with 6.0l 4l80 trans. The frame is rotting and I need to replace it. I found 2 candidates one is 2500 frame the same as mine and the other is a 2003 2500 hd frame. I was told I will have to change front bumper brackets for the hd frame. does anyone know if my cab bed and drivetrain will swap right over onto 2500 hd frame or will there be problems. I have the 5 leaf leaf springs and not sure which rearend. any help is appreciated thanks.

The all new $999 option came about through a partnership with Echomaster and includes up to four additional cameras that can help a driver keep tabs on his load and trailer while hauling. The system works with and is completely integrated with the factory MyLink infotainment system. Two cameras, one under each rear view mirror and an optional fourth camera that can be wired up to a trailer. Later this summer, the package will include a camera located in the 3rd high-mounted brake light so customers can check on stored bed cargo or easily hookup a fifth-wheel hitch. Any of the four-camera views can be checked on at anytime by long-pressing the home button for more than 5-seconds. The factory backup camera still automatically turns on when the pickup is placed in reverse. The multi-camera system also joins a new factory installed fifth-wheel prep package for 2016 Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD. The prep package will cost $350 and includes a frame-mounted hitch platform and tray and 7-pin wiring in the bed. An optional CURT fifth-wheel hitch is available through dealers. A 20,000lb hitch will cost $939 while a 25,000lb hitch will run $999.

I have a 2003 Silverado 2500, that has the purple marked torsion keys installed from the factory. I'm looking to level the front end up a couple inches but I see a lot of red flags regarding the purple keys as far as purchasing new ones. I've been reading that I can level it up to 2" with the stock keys and getting longer shocks or the bracket. What are my options?? Thanks.

Howdy, fellers! I bought a GMC C2500 from a friend last summer when my last work truck was totaled. Now this gas-loving beast is my daily driver after my Nissan Sentra was totaled a few weeks ago. This truck is fantastic - a 7.4L engine that's great for towing the Bobcat or several tons of rock. It needs a little work, some of which I have already done. I enjoy learning to work on my own vehicles, although that's getting tougher to do the way they build vehicles now. So far, I have done oil, brakes, plugs, wires, upper ball joints, bearings, and added Bluetooth all myself. I had the shop do lower ball joints, new struts, and brake fluid flush. Looking forward to being a part of the forum!

Here we go. This is my first truck and my first build log. I plan to keep it updated and frequently reply to comments so your input is welcomed greatly! Just a month ago I purchased my first truck and i decided to go with the 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali 6.2L. This build will be meticulous seeing that I want it to be and extremely clean build and possibly a quality show truck. Lets get to the stuff you guys want( The goods/build plans ): 7" Lift - Full Throttle Suspension or McGaughy's 20x12 -44 Fuel Mavericks 35" or 37" Toyo Open Country MT's LED Cubes Mounted in the Fog's Grille Mounted 30" lightbar Blacked Out Tailights Blacked Out Headlights with RGB Halos and DRL's Blacked Out Chrome ( Grille, Trim, ect.) Denali Engraved on the Blinker Roof Rack Tuner Air Intake Tint Exhaust If i ever have enough money - Supercharger I do get some shuttering in the steering wheel and see mostly when I'm cruising above 40mph. the RPM's jump up slightly when this occurs and i was wondering if anyone had any ideas of what this was or if GMC has fixed some of these problems because yes i have read a bunch of forums about such problems. Anything I have for build parts listed above feel free to make suggestions and even help me add to the list! I want to communities input on my build. Thanks so much! Here's a few pictures of it now!

Original stock ECM (PCM) from my 2003 GMC Sierra 2500HD with 6.0L gas engine. I purchased a Black Bear Performance tune and opted to keep my stock ECM. I've since sold the truck and just found this in my basement. Indoor heated storage since 3/2010. Looks like Black Bear currently charges $100 for a core, so how about $75 shipped to lower 48 or make offer.

I'm new to this forum, and would like to know about converting a 2002 c2500hd to 4 wd. It has a regular cab short bed with the 6.0 vortex I don't know the tranny type. I would like to know what I would all need to do to convert it to a 4 wheel drive truck. I do not own it yet, but am looking to buy it. I own an older Chevy truck that I did a rolling frame swap on it so I know what I am doing I just haven't done a 2wd to 4wd conversion. And would I need to change the computer in it.

I have a set of chrome oem mirrors that I removed from my 2008 2500hd. Mirrors are all power and heated. They were removed in 2010 and are in excellent condition. I know they will fit many different applications (1500-3500, tahoes, suburbans, etc.) but am not sure what years. I am asking $50 for the pair shipped. Thanks for looking!

Figured I should start a Build Page for the Truck. Arrived at the Dealership yesterday. They installed the High Country Running Boards and the Hard Folding Tonneau Cover today. Going to post a few shots later tonight. I'm loving it so far. On the "Mods" list are the following: Install the DDM LED Fog Lights, High Beam and Low Beam bulbs. Install LED "puddle lights" into the Steps of the rear bumper. Weather Tech All Weather Mats in Brown to match the Saddle Interior. Diode for the Fog Lights on with High Beams. Diode for Reverse Lights on with Cargo Lights. Tint the front two windows at 20% to match the stock Privacy Glass. Still up in the air about tinting the front windshield. Install a 30" CREE light bar behind the Grill and have it hooked up to the High Beams. Other than that, I am very excited to have one of the first 2015 2500 High Country's with the Diesel and Long Box !

Hey, I just recently picked up a new truck, it's a 2012 GMC Sierra 2500HD Denali with 85,000km. So far I'm really enjoying being back in a Duramax, one issue I noticed was that the Cruise Control isn't working. The light on the steering wheel comes on, but nothing on the dash. I did some looking online and rear about a potential brake light or brake pedal switch issue. All brake lights work as they're supposed to, and tapping/wiggling the brake switch does nothing while attempting to set the cruise. I couldn't find a fuse for the cruise control to check??? Also tried playing with the trailer brake controller and parking brake.. still nothing. Then I tried playing with the tilt steering, and voila... I managed to get the cruise to work and the light on the dash to come on for a minute. As soon as I moved the wheel I lost it again. If I cycle the tilt steering up and down and hold it all the way in the lowest position it will intermittently work. This leads me to believe everything is functioning properly, and I either have a broken wire or loose connection somewhere on the steering column. Does anyone have a wiring diagram or insight on where I should be looking for this wiring issue? Thanks!

i have a 1999 gmc sierra 2500 6.0 made in 1998 but has the 2000 round body style and newer motor from 2000's i was adding my AUX and checking on my radio wiring and i forgot to drop my steering wheel down to let the dash cover fit through and i broke off my hazard light switch. i found a blog post i thought would work(havent tried it yet) but wanna make sure. the part she said to get doesnt match up with my truck on autozone or amazon catalog thing. blog post - http://sarahjoaustin.com/2010/01/15/how-to-repair-your-gm-hazard-light-switch/ is there anyway i can just buy the switch or do i have to rip my steering colum apart and replace my whole blinker arm? any help would be much appreciated since im 19 and have no money due to my $8 an hour job and my 11 month old son but i do know my way around automotive mechanics and tools thanks -
I am purchasing a new K&N cold air intake kit for my truck to primarily try to improve gas mileage (extra power always a plus too). I plan to get the K&N Performance Intake kit with the polyethylene tube shown here: http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/k-n-performance-intake-kit-57-3031-1/17401676-P?searchTerm=intake K&N seems pretty reputable. I also read the polyethylene tube is better than a aluminum chrome tube since the aluminum can heat up from the heat of the engine and decrease the performance of the cool air intake. My question is do I need to buy a different air flow sensor for my new intake kit or will the computer in my truck calibrate/account for the new intake? I also plan to clean the air flow sensor with air flow sensor cleaner during the process. Thanks! Any tips on any of these topics appreciated!

Please HELP! My friend has a 2007 Chevy 2500 HD Classic 6.0 That while he's driving it just shuts off. Then it dose nothing when he tries to restart it. No noise no nothing. the dash lights all come on just no cranking or trying to crank. There is a code U0107 Throttle Actuator control loss communication. It seems when first started that it has to get really warmed up then it quits. After that he can just have it running in the driveway a few minutes & it will quit after the intimal warm up. It's like something is getting hot/ I'm hoping someone else has had this issue & knows where to have us look. Not sure the code has anything to do with it quiting. A garage put a new PCM on it but it didn't fix it. Thanks

Hey! I have a 2004 GMC Sierra 2500 crew cab 4x4 short bed, 4 inch lift with 17 inch wheels. I'm looking into a suitable camper for my truck. Lance advertises the 2500's as a suitable truck for the 855s model, but it is obviously well over the payload capacity when wet.... before adding everything else to the equation. Does anyone here "push the limits" successfully? I know all about the insurance issues with a set-up like this. Airbags and E-rated tires are on my truck as well. Thanks for your replies in advance.

Hey guys, just installed the gmc headlights with the led DRLs in my 2500 gmc SLE, which didn't come stock with the lights with DRLs. So there is no wiring in the truck already to just plug and play with the DRLs. I did my own thing and wired the DRLs to come on with the truck however i don't know how to get the headlights to come off during the day on the new trucks. The old ones you could just pull a fuse but no dice on these ones. Anyone have any ideas how to keep the projectors off during the day?

i've had my 04 silverado 2500 with the 6.0 for a few years and i just hate the stock exhaust, and i'm tied for my options for a nice aggressive sounding system i would prefer dual outlet and all i've found are bolt on generic cat back kits and i just want something different any recommendations? i'm debating just doing a simple glass pack set up like my 03 4.3 i have but i dont know how it will turn out and i don't really want to waste cash. if any one has any good ideas or has done similar set ups some feed back would be greatly appreciated.

was looking to upgrade my headlights on my rig. my 2015 didn't come with the LED DRLs. Was looking to buy a set with the DRLs but can't find much online for part numbers or anything like that with the HDs. Only can find stuff on the half tons. Maybe the headlights for the half tons are the exact same as the heavy dutys.. Anybody?

Oil pressure guage stopped working/reading 0. Needle does not move from 0 when key is turned on. Verified that engine does have good oil pressure. I did have an oil leak problem right around the same time the gauge stopped working. Turned out to be oil cooler lines. How should I go about troubleshooting this?
