  1. Hey, love this site, new owner of a TrailBoss custom and wish I would have gotten the LT with more little bells and whistles, but I was too cheap! Now I'm trying to manipulate as many functions and additional features as possible. I'm replacing the center console thanks to this site, now I'm trying to get text messaging from my limited infotainment. Any ideas? I'm anxiously hoping for many!! Thanks guys?
  2. Greetings, First time poster here....I've used many a fishing and hunting forums but never a truck forum....so please forgive my automotive ignorance Had some trouble with my passenger side headlight last week (drivers side was fine).....it was on again/off again... hoped it was the bulb, replaced it...no luck. Headlight is still out. Checked fuse #58 (3-pin) HDLP RT/ LT (full disclosure: NEVER saw a 3 pin blade fuse before) it was fine, however, it doesn't protect the headlamps it protects the high beams......which leads me to my next important bit of info... I'm the third owner.......the original owner tricked out this truck with custom front lights, rear lights, LED bars, etc, etc..... ton of stuff, truck looks great, but I had nothing to do with it. If it was my boat I'd be all over it. So I'm hoping one of you guys or gals can help me out. Got a hold of the original owner.......he bought the headlamps (see pic) from DT Moto on eBay...they're halogen lamps ...that's all he remembers . On the way to work today the other headlight went out YIKES! ....up here in NH it's pretty damn dark at 5:30 am ....there are a total of 5 bulbs in each front light and the headlights are the only one out. So I'm hoping someone here might get me going in the right direction? Relay? where might I find that? Should fuse #58 (engine compartment) HDLP RT/ LT protect the high beams? Seems like it should be for the head lamps? I love the truck, it's my 2nd Sierra 1500, my first one was very good to me. I get a lot of compliments and questions.....most of which I have to reply to with , "Ummm, I don't know." lol ANY questions or comments please feel free..... Thanks, Jim
  3. Hello new to this site. was wondering if anyone had done a power antenna conversion on an express van, and if so where did you buy it? thanks.
  4. Some plates are just downright funny and others really mean something to the owner while others leave people wondering WTH ? as an example, mine has 420 in it and I’m not a pot head ?
  5. Hey crew! As many of you know, I've been hard at work on these HMI's for about 9 months now ever since I purchased my GMC Sierra last summer. I have since started programming modules for many of you right here on these forums and I could not be more grateful for all of your support and kind words. A feature that has been requested from me many times over has been custom boot animations/logos/sounds and I am very happy to announce that after a lot of research and many nights of testing and programming I have finally achieved this task! Please see the video below for a small demonstration. If any of you are interested in getting this done to your vehicle equipped with a 2.5 HMI please send me a PM and we can discuss this upgrade! Also, Please post ANY programming requests you'd like done on your truck and I'll do my best to make it a reality. P.S. - This is just the beginning, there's lots more to come. Stay tuned... -Mag
  6. I would like to install a custom USB hub for my truck. I am fixing this thing up for camping trips and we will definitely be needing some juice. Can anyone direct me to some products? Truck: 1992 GMC 1500
  7. Hey so im looking for all black emblems for my 2018 silverado z71 ltz, i was wondering if anyone knows where i can get these or how to make this happen? Ive found “silverado ltz” in all black but cant find the side “z71” on the doors, the all black bow ties or the small all black z71 in the grill..
  8. Hello. I have a reg cab 03 2500 Chevy. It is tinted with probably 35% smoke. But here it is....... About around the turn of the century I would see quite a few older truck reg. cabs with some image on the back glass. Sometimes it was a scenic background or it could be a flag or any other landscape/background the owner wanted. What do you call these? Were they see-through like those police interrogation room mirrors? How come the seem unpopular these days?
  9. Hi All - Wondering if anyone has had the chance to peel apart and look into the 16-18 silverado headlights. I would like to pull mine out and add some style to it. I have only ever customized motorcycle lights. I dont want to just for fun tear apart a 800 dollar light quite yet...unless nobody has done it yet. Ideas - Would like to add halo/angel eyes. Add demon eyes. Remove amber reflectors...possibly more Cheers!
  10. Zane & Josh Merva GM-Trucks.com Ready to make your truck stand out in the crowd? Swap your stock Chevy or GMC emblem in for something that really stands out, a color matched billet aluminum insert. We install and review a set from American Brother Designs. Product Reviewed & Cost: American Brother Designs GMC Color Matched Billet Emblem Inserts: $124.99 w/free shipping What is it: A solid billet aluminum insert painted to match most GM stock colors and also available in chrome, flat black, and multiple camo variations. Available for 2007+ Chevrolet bowtie and GMC letter replacements. Tested On: 2011 GMC Sierra All-Terrain Extended Cab SLT Here is how we installed a black color matched insert on our 2011 GMC Sierra: Wash vehicle We always like to start with a clean surface to work around. By removing any dirt and grime you reduce the chance of scratching your vehicle while working around and on it. Cut out and apply guide letters ABD includes a template for each kit that you can use to help remove your truck’s stock insert. We then cut out each letter and taped it over our Sierra’s front GMC emblem. Drill out holes in the letters or bowtie After the template is in place we used the tip of a drill bit to mark each hole we’d be drilling. Starting slowly, we drilled holes in our emblem at the marked spots. We took special care to not drill too deeply. Carefully pry out the original insert If you have a 2014 and newer truck the purpose of drilling the emblems are to remove support tabs. If you have a 2013 and earlier truck, you’re simply weakening the emblem and the adhesive that holds it on. If your emblem is attached using adhesive, slowly pry away the insert pieces taking special care to not scratch the chrome surround. Clean the back Once the stock insert is removed we made sure the underlying surface was perfectly clean. That includes scraping any residue or glue away and thoroughly cleaning the surface with rubbing alcohol. This step is a pain in the behind, but the cleaner the surface the better the bond. Apply the new insert If it’s cold out use a hair dryer to warm up the billet inserts and the area where you’ll be applying them. Then carefully remove the new adhesive backing and apply the insert. Warm the entire surface and apply pressure for around a minute to properly bond the insert to the vehicle. Afterwards, wait 24-hours before washing to allow the 3M adhesive tape to properly bond. Our thoughts American Brother Designs aluminum inserts are an easy way to make your truck look different. Match your emblem to your truck’s stock paint or mix it up with another color, your pickup will immediately stand out as something different. We appreciated that the billet fit exactly. There were no ugly gaps and fit looks like it came from the factory. We also appreciated the black painted inserts matched our GMC's paint perfectly. A thick cut of billet fills the channel that the red jewel of the stock GMC lettering used to occupy for a flush finish. These inserts are also strong and will outlast the plastic grill they are surrounded by. While emblem covering decals may fade and wear, this aluminum insert will look like new for years to come. We personally like the look over the cheaper jeweled stock emblem. Color matched letters give our Sierra an unmistakable appearance on the road. The instructions were clear and easy to follow and we completed the project in about an hour. We love the new look. Pick up a set of ABD Billet Inserts in the GM-Trucks.com Store

  12. New to the forum, just migrated from a 2000 BMW 540i to a 2015 Chevy Silverado, but I live in Texas, so this is normal. I wanted to share some photos of aftermarket leather I had put in today. I got a great deal of good ideas from here so I thought I would contribute. Also, if you have interior modifications, please share. I know there are tons of threads on exterior modifications but not as much on what you folks are doing with the interior! The leather is from Katzkin and the main color is Java. Let me know your thoughts. Also, the price installed was $1,260 for those comparing cost.
  13. Hey guys and gals, I'm Luke and I have been a die hard GM guy my whole life, shoulda found this place a long time ago but I'm here now with a fairly difficult request. I want to customize my back window of my 2012 sierra so that the whole window can open. I believe the Tundra has the power rear slider. I don't care about power, I just want to be able to remove it or flip it up or down and get it out of the way. Any ideas or advice would be much appreciated. Maybe you have seen some things done or actually done them yourself. Anything can help. Thanks L
  14. Hello, I recently got a 2017 Silverado Custom 1500 and was wondering if keyless entry is something i should have received at purchase. The truck was paired with one when i test drove it but when i received it i expected to have it but realized i only received two keys. i was curious if anyone else has this model and if it came with keyless entry or not. Thanks everyone!
  15. CASH TALKS! TEXT ME OR CALL 406-690-537I TO DISCUSS, TEXT PREFERRED AS I WORK OUT OF CELL SERVICE OFTEN. Selling my beloved 2007 GMC Duramax Diesel, last year of the best of the LBZ model code. No emissions from the factory to deal with, and considered to be the best model of duramax ever made. This is a very clean truck, I looked long and hard to find this, and it is my 3rd lbz GM truck. No leaks no drips no check engine lights nothing. Ready for anything and will last forever, I see these trucks on the forums over a half million miles getting beat on daily and running forever, this has been babied. Yes I am asking over book and considering offers, please realize this truck has had a lot more than the average truck has had put into it. Really like buying a brand new truck with everything completely done. Truck is awesome all around. The front seats are showing light wear but no rips, rears and rest of interior looks like new. A couple light paint chips on the front bumper, and I have all factory touch up paints. That's it for imperfections. THIS TRUCK IS CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN. I hate selling, however this truck is such a garage queen it makes it hard for me to justify keeping. I started a new position shortly after purchasing the truck and have a work vehicle I use the marjority of the time. The truck is only used for weekend soccer interstate trips etc. I am the 3rd owner, first was in california and second was in billings and was an oil worker, and it was a garage queen its life. I purchased the truck and did extensive upgrades and reliability modifications to make it the perfect truck in my eyes. I have spent thousands in upgrades and countless hours and extensive labor charges to get the truck to where it is today. This will make someone a reliable powerful vehicle for many years to come with everything done. Always ran premium diesel and Stanadyne with every fillup. Truck is fully loaded slt model, every available option except leaking sunroof. Bose stereo, power heated leather etc etc. I will do my best to list everything I can think of about the truck. I am sure I will miss much as so much has been done it is hard to even remember it all. Everything was done with reliability in mind first, and performance second. I have most of the stock parts as well that have been removed. Upgrades and performance modifications... Allison deep transmission pan and new gasket with all new filters. Transgo jr shift kit. Fleece all on module Duramax store transmission cooler line kit upgrade (replaces notorious oem leaking lines) Professionally installed rough country 3" lift kit, including new steering stabilizer, 4 new shocks, new rear block, new upper control arms with better angle for ball joint lift, new torsion keys. Also did new pitman and idler arm at this time and full alignment. 16" XD wheels with 33" Cooper AT3 tires, maybe 5k miles on tires. SDP PCV reroute kit AFE Series 2 intake with afe pre filter 4" MBRP mufflered exhaust with black tip. 3" MBRP downpipe MBRP uppipe Sinister EGR delete kit Edge Insight Gauge Monitor with egt into passenger side exhaust header. Gauge is mounted in dash pod and professionally wired. Airdog 165 lift pump Capped resonator Fleece headlight modification (allows fogs brights lows driving to all be on simultaneously) Full window tint with vent visors. 2 sets of weathertech floor mats, one still new in box. Trailer brake Snugtop Topper color matched and fitted for the truck, matches the lines perfect. 5th wheel rails in bed GMC Gatorback heavy duty mudflaps Lund chrome nerf bars Blacked out led taillights EFI LIVE by Idaho rob at atp in Idaho, comes with efi live tuner. If you are not familiar with efi live tuning take some time to read up on google, it is amazing what it does for these trucks and Idaho Rob is considered among the best tuners in the business. Truck was tuned after all modifications were completed and comes with 5 tunes that are able to be shifted on the fly with the dsp 5 switch mounted in the cigarette lighter spot and is tuned for the transmission with shift kit. Tunes range from optimized stock, tow tune with turbo tow brake, 90hp eco, 120 street, and 150 hot race, and are changeable simply by turning the switch from positions 1 through 5. I have used the tow tune and the eco tune primarily, as I get older I enjoy cruising more than speeding. The truck does have the ability to really pull however in the higher tunes. Very clean tuning with almost no smoke except in tune 5 where it will smoke a little when getting after it. Truck has not been rodded, adult owned and driven always. Maintenance items completed... All completed within the last 6 months. Repeat drain and fills of both differentials with 500k mile synthetic delo dif fluid. Repeat drain and fill of transmission and allison filters using only transynd fluid. (Internal filter also change with the deep pan addition.) New oem gm radiator hoses and coolant filled drained and filled multiple times. Hyperlube racing coolant additive added on last fillup. New oem thermostats Brake fluid flushed twice, filled with Valvoline synthetic brake fluid. Power steering flushed twice, filled with blue line synthetic power steering fluid. Midas full alignment after lift kit installation. 4 wheel tire balance. Full midas inspection showing everything in the good green category. New intermediate dorman problem solver steering shaft and bearing kit (fixes notorious oem clunking steering problem) New spicer lifetime greasable ujoints All zerks repeatedly greased with lucas red and tacky Recharged air conditioning. Turbo Vane cleaning done. Synthetic oils and oem filters, oem airdog liftpump filters. Truck is ready to go. Title in hand, lien through local bank which my wife works at and all title work can be done at bank on day of sale. I may consider delivery for a fee, depending on how far etc. I may consider a partial trade on a cheaper vehicle (under 5kish) with your cash offer. Would need to know all vehicle details. SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY PLEASE!!! I am working huge hours right now and don't have time for tire kickers. Vin available upon request. Truck is located in billings montana and can be viewed at almost any time. I will try to get more pictures up of the truck as time allows. First picture is current with topper, other pic just to show how it looks without topper.
  16. Putting up for sale or trade 2 sets of headlights because I got too many lying around. First off is a set of stock lights that came on my 14 Sierra SLT that are in great condition except for a few small scratches on the passenger lens. They will be in the pics. Everything works and come with stock bulbs or Morimoto HIDs for extra. I am offering both sets of headlights for trade as well for any random aftermarket pieces you possibly would want to get rid of. I know its a long shot but I'm looking for: longtube headers, custom tails, summit white bumpers, 22" wheels, diablo trinity, anything willing to trade just ask. Asking for $600 shipped. Pics: If you would like to see more pics please let me know. The other set I have is a custom painted summit white set with diode dynamics drl switchbacks and also oracle RGB halos. The switchbacks have a bright white for drl and amber for turn signal. The whole housing was painted by a friend with a summit white/clear mix to make the drl lens more see through but they are still tinted. To remove the lens from the housing, my buddy made the plastic a little messy so its definitely not perfect around the edges but it does have a really tight seal with morimoto's retro rubber made for sealing headlights. Also on the halos 3 of the green leds have burned out on both headlights but in different spots. If you just use Red or Blue it is not noticeable but on white or any other color that utilizes a little green it is a little noticeable. Il attach pics in next post because of file size. Please message me or for faster response text me at 717-629-8442.
  17. (Pictures are not uploading properly, I will fix it when I can and put them in the appropriate places in the post) I want to start off by saying, pictures are limited, as the only bolts you need to remove (10 total) are fairly obvious and in your face, the only two that are 'difficult' to find I will explain where they are. I special ordered my truck how I wanted it with every option I needed, but I left off the chrome package because I don't like chrome. But then my dad bought a black LT RCSB and I loved the chrome bumper so I decided I had to have one while I look for all blue color matched (Z71) front end parts. The first part that needs to come off is the plastic trim under the hood, that is on top of the radiator/grille. There are 10 push-pins that hold it on. I used the second tool in the picture, lift the first stage of the clip, once its up about 3/4 inch, get under the base and pull it completely out. Next, the grille is held on with 4 10mm bolts, these bolts don't do much honestly. Pulling the grille itself out was the most challenging part of the whole job. There are clips in front of each bolt that will slide back in their slots if you breath too hard. On the middle/driver's side clip, there is a plastic locator pin that appears to be nearly impossible to leave intact and remove the grille, so I cut it off flush - there are enough pressure clips to keep everything aligned. I started at the passenger side and removed the top clip, then pulled the grille out at the middle cross piece. Don't be afraid of pulling too hard, the pressure clips release with some force. Once the grille pull out approximately 1", you can lift the grille up and out. This leaves the bumper. There are a total of 6 bolts that attach the bumper to the truck, 4 accessible now that the grille is removed, the other 2 are harder to get too, one on each side. If you lay down in front of each tire and look up, you will see the brace that secure the bumper. Remove the one 15mm bolt that on each side (leave side with 2 bolts on the frame). Now you can remove the four 18 mm bolts that are in front of the radiator. The bumper should rest on its mounts once all bolts are removed without a risk of falling, but be careful regardless. That will leave you with something that looks like this, kind of intimidating at first. I had to transfer all the appropriate brackets from my back bumper to my chrome one, a little bit of effort but if you have gotten this far you won't have an issue. Then everything goes back together exactly the opposite as it came apart.
  18. I started plasti-dipping the emblems on my 2015 All Terrian. But I'm having an issue with the GMC logo's on the front and back. The paint keeps "lifting". So I'm stuck. There are no Youtube videos for this year or newer that I've found. I'm thinking its becuse with the newer trucks, the emblems have all these horizontal groove lines keeping the paint/dip from grabbing on. Any ideas/advice??? Thank you all in advance. Also, whats the best thing to use to remove PlastiDip?? Can you paint over PlastiDip with PlastiDip?
  19. How's it going Silverado and Sierra nation. Are you looking to add some flair to your 2014-2016 Silverado or Sierra but not sure how? Are you looking for that custom look to your truck without breaking your wallet? Is your wife tired of you getting truck parts in the mail, and threatening you with divorce over your next $300 purchase, limiting your options for customization? THEN LOOK NO FURTHER!!! Up for sale are the chrome mirrors and door handles off of my 2015 Silverado Double Cab LT Custom Sport. As you can see from the pictures the mirrors and have been polished, very nicely i might add, and will definitely turn heads. Actually they may turn heads away because the sun shining off of the polished chrome may be too much for mere mortal eyes and cause unexpected blindness to drivers. But wait there's more. For no additional cost i'll throw in the tool i had to make in order to complete the door handle installation, as well as throw in some very vague instructions (youtube really hooked me up). I accept PayPal and have each handle and mirror individually bubble-wrapped and ready to ship. I would prefer to sell these as a set for my everyday low price of $275, but for the right price i may separate.
  20. Has anyone taken apart a 14-15 Chevy headlight before? Im curious about the black plastic piece that divides the chrome from the high beam housing and low beam housing. Has anyone attempted to remove this piece? And successfully reapplied it with breaking anything? My goal is to fabricate a piece integrated with a LED light strip similar to the 16 headlight look. Thanks in advance
  21. I have had this truck for a year and decided to make a build thread just for fun. I haven't taken great pictures of the upgrades but I will add as I find them. Its a 2015 Silverado LTZ Z71, Ordered the way I wanted, including the 6.2L with 8 speed. Stock After the 2" RC level. Then I added BMF wheels 20x9 +12mm offset with Cooper Discover AT3's 275/60/20. Loved the ride and look, just wasn't aggressive enough for me. Also somewhere I added 20% tint all the way around. Including over the factory stuff. So I decided to swap tires and get Cooper STT Pros in 295/55/20. The look is great and not to loud but my MPGs crashed. I'm am still considering swapping back to the AT3's. I added Amp Research steps as well, best modification so far. I will update if I remember more.
  22. Hope this is in the right area, but I am ready to get some custom off-road bumpers for my truck. Ive looked at quite a few bumpers on the market and no matter which one it is, I'll like it, then a few days later, come to some conclusion on why I just can't justify purchasing it for my truck, whether it hang too low or not do what I need to be able to. So Ive decided to turn to just working with a fabricator, (preferably in southern LA but if I have to I'll go elsewhere). I have an idea of what I want, general design, and what it needs to be able to do. But lack the skills to be able to make it myself. If anyone in LA knows anyone, whether its a shop that specializes in it or just a friend of yours who feels confident enough in his skills to build a heavy duty off-road bumper that can hold a winch, get pulled on, and do all the things that an off-road bumper should be able to do, please let me know about them! Thanks in advance - Mike
