Good afternoon all, I've been putting in some quality homework time figuring out which modifications I would like to move forward on for my '14 Sierra A.T. I'm quite confident at this point I am settled on a Flowmaster catback dual set-up, AFE or Airaid CAI, and a nice tuner (still deciding on model...BB, Diablo, couple others)... 3 of probably the more popular mods of course. Money is a factor for me, so I am more realistically plan to do these 3 spread out throughout the year. I haven't seen or found any info regarding what is, if there is, the best cadence or order do these mods? I am leaning towards tune last just because I am still paranoid about doing that to a new truck under warranty. I am pretty confident I can do catback and CAI without any risk of killing my warranty. Oh yeah, and I'm still pretty new to this forum. Here's where I am at so far and I have been absolutely LOVIN my new Sierra! Traded in a 2013 Black Diamond Avalanche (which I do miss! ) -2014 Sierra SLT All-Terrain double cab 4x4 -OEM black 6" oval running boards -20" All terrain optional wheels -Installed full BedRug ( <--highly recommend! ) and also a softcover trifold tonneau Thanks

I have a 2003 GMC Sierra 4X4 with the 5.3L Vortec. It has the stock single exhaust on it. I want to convert it to true dual exhaust so it's it straight back from the manifolds. I also want glasspack exhaust, although I am open to suggestions. I want it to rumble all the time and then really sound amazing when stomping on it. Now I don't want it to be quite as loud and obnoxious as a straight pipe Harley, but it must have a nice low rumble. If anyone knows of a kit that can give me true dual pipes without any mufflers I would be interested. I am really liking the sounds of the true cherrybomb (or like) glasspacks. I've used them on other cars and SUV's before and really liked the sounds I got out of them.

hey guys, just letting you know that i recently got my 2014 Silverado 5.3L LT Z71 back. Borla exhaust had it for almost a month. they used it to prototype their exhaust systems. they are coming out with 3 different series of exhaust sound levels. They let me choose between all three options and I chose to keep type ATAK series muffle. And guys….it sounds awesome. I’ve been driving the hell out of it and it is just awesome. There is no drone and sounds great in all gears. So be on the lookout and the Borla exhaust system sound be available soon! Pics coming soon....

Hey all, Looking to upgrade my exhaust to something like a catback single in dual out, all stainless, painted heat resistant welds, the utmost in quality work. I'm in the Metro Detroit area and did all my own work on my '79 Trans am so I have little experience with any performance shops. With my new '14 Sierra, I am willing to shell out the money for a top notch job. If anyone has any recommendations based on experience and results, I would greatly appreciate it and I am sure the shop will to for the extra business! Thanks!

Im new to the forum, just got a k&n intake put on yesterday. I read changing out the stock muffler will reduce low end torque. Is there a muffler that can increase low end torque? Around 1-2K rpms? Thanks

Has anyone installed a bolt on exhaust tip? Any pictures? I measured the exit pipe and it seem sot be 2.85" OD is that right? Most Aftermarket tips seem sot be for even sizes like 3".

6.0l engine light flashing throwing codes! After exhaust!
Tyler Hogsten posted a question in Ask the GM Technician
Ok. New 6.0l motor installed long tubes 2 1/2 going to a 3in on the muffler. We'll I needed to add pipe so had to drive to muffler shop with open headers. Started it ran good no issues no light. Then oil pressure gauge stopped working assuming its a sensor. But drove to the shop ran great!!!! 12 miles or so. Then after the shop pull out on the road engine light comes on flashing. I figured it was cuz I have no o2 sensors. Added o2 sensors at home all 4. It had spots on piping that I got. But still the same thing and a ruff idle Codes (2) P0300 codes random misfire P0327 knock sensor 1 circuit low P0134 O2 bank 1 sensor 1 p0154 O2 bank 2 sensor 2 Also think O2 bank 2 sensor 1 is on there too... Any help would be nice? Will a tune fix this? Do I need I need to space the O2s in order for the computer to read them I have no cats just resonators.- 14 replies

I was wanting to put an exhaust on my truck. I was looking at the flowmaster 10 or 40 series or maybe the 44. I want my truck to be plenty loud but I also drive the highway everyday. I don't wanna be annoyed and find the enterior noise rediculous. What do you guys think I should go with? Im gonna do just a single pipe and probably 4 inch tip. By the way my truck is an 05 silverado with 5.3.

I just wanted to share my recent experience with Corsa. I have had the same system on my last 2500HD's and recently started to notice a rattling noise. After a closer inspection, I discovered it was coming from within the muffler. At that point I contacted Corsa just to see if I could purchase just the muffler, as the places I looked only sold the whole system. They asked for a few pics of the muffler and proof of purchase. To my surprise they promptly responded telling me that they processed the warranty and that the new muffler will be made and shipped by the end of the month. I did not expect that. It's refreshing to find customer service like that. I'm a happy customer!

Do the factory exhaust tips change the tone of the exhaust system? I would like a little more noise, but don't see the need to spend big dollars. I do not want something I hear everyday humming down the road, I quite enjoy the quiet ride!

Ok so I am set on replacing my oem muffler with a flowmaster 50 or 70 series big block, problem is the 50 does not come in stainless and the 70 only comes in 3inch (stock pipe is 3.5) I live in western pa so we have moderate winters and lots of calcium/salt on the roads will it hurt performance to adapt he pipe to 3 inch for the stainless muffler or deal with the aluminized 50 series? Any advice appreciated!

Thinking of exhaust for my 2012 Silverado 1500 5.3. I am looking for an agressive sound with no interior drone or vibration. Alsp performance gain is a plus too, the 5.3 has a lot of power but there is more to be had from simple mods like this. From what I have seen everyone is going with the Corsa Db. Anyone here have experince with this? If not what is your experience with outher exhaust systems? - For budget purposes this would need to stay around the $500 mark. I think I posted a pic before, but here's another:

Okay, my question is that i am looking to straight pipe my 1998 silverado i just bought with a 5.7. I used to own a 2001 silverado but it was a 4.3 v6 and that was straight piped but i got horrible gas mileage. i am looking to get an aggressive sound out of my 1998 i just bought and was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on how to get that sound without killing my gas mileage and possibly avoiding a new muffler.
