  1. I've been looking at the AMP Terrain Grippers as they are a pretty good price for around $800 for a set of 33s and are a really aggressive all terrain tire design. If anyone's running them can you please post pics and reviews on them such as road noise, comfort, and tread life etc...
  2. I'm wanting to put some nice looking Beadlock wheels on it with some 33-35 inch Tires, for my next upgrade. (220,000 miles so far) I would like some advice on what tire would fit while turning full lock to lock without Rubbing. I'm installing the big fender flairs from Bushwacker, that require cutting the fenders, these add 4-5 inches in width. Have a 4 inch lift in front and a 2 inch lift in the rear. (Rancho Suspension lift) I will drive this everyday on and off the farm (tends to get pretty muddy after a rain), as well as on and off road trips. Maybe even some storm chasing. I'm leaning towards these wheels: ATX SERIES BLACK AX757 CHAMBER PRO II WHEELS 17x9, 8x6.5, with the BF Goodrich KO2 Tires. Here is a link with the details. http://www.americanracingequipment.ca/wheel/33130/ax757-chamber-pro-ii How big of tire can I put on and NOT have any Rubbing? If the Tire sticks out no big deal the fender flairs will cover tires 4-5 inches outside the fenders. If there are better suited wheels AND tires for this Truck feel free to add that information. This is an expensive upgrade especially since the Drivetrain has also been replaced or rebuilt and upgraded. Looking for some well thought out honest advice. I need to run a Grade 8 Tire as I haul my Tractor for service, and I also want the ability to air down for more traction if necessary. The wheels are 17x9. (See Link Above) I would like a strong, capable long lasting Tire for the duties listed above. I will answer any questions you have of me. Thanks in advance, Texas Suburban Trucker Quote Edit
  3. For all your questions on whether or nota certain tire will fit such with such lift and wheel combo, check out this website called custom offsets. They have videos of every lift and tire wheel combo u can think of. You can even search based on year of vehicle tire size etc. https://www.customwheeloffset.com/wheel-offset-gallery?page=1
  4. I have a 2015 Sierra 1500 SLE 4WD and just installed a motofab 3" front and 2" rear leveling kit. Looks like it opened up some room for bigger tires. I will be ditching the stock 17" wheels and 31" tires. Probably get 18" wheels. Does anyone know how big I can go for new tires? Hoping to get 34" without having to trim much. thanks
  5. I am planning on installing the Zone 3.5” Combo Kit on my 2014 Chevy Silverado. It is essentially a 2” leveling kit with a 1.5” body lift. http://zoneoffroad.com/zone-offroad-products-3.5in-combo-lift-kit-chevy-gmc-pickup/c1351 Has anybody run this setup before? I plan on keeping my 22” Chevy rims. What tires sizes are feasible with no rubbing? (VERY minimal trimming is OK) I appreciate all the help I can get! Thanks
  6. Hey everyone, I'm looking to install the BDS 6" lift(non-coilover version) soon and I need to figure out what wheels and tires to buy. This will be going on my 15 Silverado LTZ Crew Cab 4wd. YES, I am aware of the suggested wheel/tire combo suggestions they list on the website. My ideal set-up would be to run 35's on 17's, but they do not list it and their tech support did not know how much or what trimming would be required. I DO NOT want the wheels and tires to stick out of the fender anymore than 1 inch. Has anyone done this? If so..... -what size wheel? 17x9? 17x8.5? -what offset? -what backspacing? -what all did you trim to eliminate rubbing?
  7. Hey all, SO let me start by mentioning I changed out my stock lower ball joints to Moog lower ball joints on November 5th, 2016. This being said, I removed the stock LBJ after 40k miles (20k on level w/ stock tires, 20k on 6" RCX knuckle and spacer lift w/ 35x12.5 tires and 20x9 rims @ 0 offset), and it looks like I am needing to replace them AGAIN! Barely even 10k miles later I am seeing the same irregular wear pattern as when I had the stock ball joints. I greased them when new and at oil change (every 5k mark). I got the vehicle aligned the following day after I installed the new LBJ btw, and I also changed the UCA to cognito arms at the same time. What I am curious of is if the issue is lying in the stock rancho shocks and the spacer lift maybe being too rough on the LBJ on the truck, this being said, does anyone else with more knowledge/experience in this area have any advice or other possible causes? I have searched the internet and haven't found anything really definitive so Im at a loss. I am at 50k right now and will have the truck at the shop within the week to get the alignment checked as well as other routine maintenance performed. I am just at a total loss and don't want to run through these new tires nearly as fast as I went through my old ones (barely even 25k miles before the edges were at 10% tread remaining at best) The rear tires are wearing beautifully but the fronts are wearing from the outside, in. The outer scalloped edges are all even and smoothed out, whereas the interior side of the tire still has extremely defined edges that look practically brand new I'll get photos and attach for reference. Thanks in advance for any help.
  8. Hey guys, new to the forum. Wanting to get a little more lift and was thinking a rough country 1.25 body lift or adding adjustable bilsteins. Truck is a 2014 with skyjacker 4" suspension lift and 295/70r18 cooper st maxx. Looking for a little direction, thanks.
  9. I am in the need of new tires and currently i have the stock 17 inch rims and stock tires. I am going back and forth whether i should level it or lift it and get 33's if level or 35's if lifted, or just get 275/65 18 with new wheels. The cost is just quite high and i don't know if it is really worth it to level or lift it. Quotes Leveling 2.5 in with 33/12.5/20 Toyo RT is like $3800 5 inch lift with 35/12.5/20 Toyo RT is $5000 or just get Toyo AT and 18 inch wheels is like $2100 I just don't know if can/should justify either the level or the lift. And would love to hear anyone's thoughts on the matter. Thanks
  10. Picked up a new GMC 2017 Duramax 2500HD that came leveled with 2.5-inch shock extensions, new torsion keys and 20x9 Fuel wheels w/ 305 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. With this setup do I need to be concerned with CV angles? Would adding UCA’s and new shocks improve things? If so, what option would you suggest? Cognito, CST, Fabtech… Bilstein, Fox... This truck will spend most of it's time on the road with only short offlroad runs to and from the trail head. I’d consider a proper 4-6” lift cranked down with 35’s but I’m worried about fitting into my parking structure. Also, I already have the 305’s and don’t want the wheel well gap or to worry about selling the 305’s. Currently the truck sits at about 80 inches; the same height as my buddy’s raptor that fits the parking structure with not much room to spare. How tall are you guys running a 4-6” lift on 35’s? Anybody running 4-6” on 33’s? Anybody have any feedback on the 3-6" S.T.L. High Clearance lift kit from CST? Also, for the cost of the 3-6” lift w/ a decent shock option, why not go with the coilover conversion from BDS? Thanks in advance for any assistance.
  11. Hi guys. I've been searching and can't find a definitive answer. I have a 2015 GMC Sierra Z71 4WD. I am installing a RC 2.5" Level and running 20X9 rims with a +18 offset. My question is, what is the biggest tire I can run without rubbing. I like the wheel well to be filled up and filled out. I was looking at 295/60 but I'm not sure if it will rub. Please help me out!
  12. Hey all, considering a 3.5" RC lift and have seen some random complaints on the old interwebs and facebook about having to regularly replace ball joints with this lift added... can anyone substantiate or chime in to these possible issues?
  13. I want to know if someone have problems with a 2" level kit and stamped steel control arm. I heard that some people have the ball joint that pop out with 2.5 and 3" level. I wanted to install a 2" level kit and replace the rear block with a 2", but now I hesitate if I just install a 1.5 "level kit.
  14. Hey everyone, I've owned lifted and lowered vehicles for years, but typically bought them way way. I've never actually done much of the customization myself. I know someone will say something like, try searching the site.....blah, blah, blah. Well, I have and there's so much good (and BS) information out there that it makes my head spin. Let me see if I can sum this up as quickly as possible. I have a 2016 Crew Cab 4x4 Silverado (deep ocean blue metallic) that I bought new last year. I had a leveling kit installed at the dealership (it was cheaper than the other places that I talked with), my truck came with 17's, which I absolutely hate. They're super tiny and look out of place. My plan is to upgrade to 20's and I want to put the largest tire that I can fit without rubbing. I've read about people putting 32, 33 & 34 inch tires on and claim that none of them rub. I'm not so confident about their claims. My other dilemma is that I do no like the look when the tires stick out several inches from the wheel well. That may be great for some people, but not for me. Ideally, I would like the tires to be flush with the wheel wells, but if they were to stick out a half an inch or so I would be ok with that. This is where we have to deal with backspacing. I'm sure that it is a simple concept, but it confuses me for some reason. A little bit too much, or too little, will make things look silly. I'm assuming that a 20x9 or 20x10 would be the best option, but I'm not sure. Let me know what you guys, and gals, think. Thanks in advance for your help.
  15. Hey guys, I have a 2006 Suburban LT with a 6" lift installed and 295/70R17 tires. We bought several years ago with the lift installed. It's a nice truck but it is a chore to drive. It doesn't handle very well and we have to take turns on the slow side since it leans alot. The factory sway bars are connected.. When there are bumps in the road it seems like the tires bounce make us the drivers have to make corrections to keep it on the road. Not sure what to call it but when the road has been traveled a great deal and the asphalt has tire ruts, but it seems like the road steers the truck and there is an awful lot of continual steering correction to keep it going straight. I am comparing the drivability to our cars. I know the lift isn't a great lift. Who ever lifted it did it for cosmetics not for off roading. I recently had new tires installed with an alignment done with some repair work so I know everything is in order. The truck drives great cruzing down the highway or town driving but if there are hard bumps or asphalt ruts the truck isn't enjoyable to drive. Recently I was thinking about upgrading the front and rear sway bars to improve driving while turning to reduce the truck leaning. Would better shocks help keep the tires on the road when driving over hard bumps. For example railroad tracks we better slow down compared to the car. Some of the roads are in need of repair out where we live and hitting pot holes better have both hands on the steering wheel. In the car no problem. I sure would like to improve the road handling in the truck. Any suggestions would be nice
  16. I want to lift my 2017 silverado 1500, any thoughts on 7.5" lift from rough country??? Reviews please thanks guys!!!
  17. As the title states, I'm starting to research some lift kit options for an old 2003 Bow-Tie. It's an extended cab stock z71 off road package with brand new BFG 265/75r16 tires. What I'm attempting to get out of this forum is discussion from owners of similar models that have gone this route and can give me some personal experiences. There are many options for lifts, but my preference is to lift no more than 4" and most ideally, just a 2" or 3" lift. I don't really want a leveling kit, but am open to suggestions from all areas. If I were to rank my vehicle knowledge, I would place myself as a 4/10. Possible lift options Zone 2" lift Rough Country Leveling Kit I'd also like an explanation on torsion keys vs suspension lifts (I don't plan on doing a suspension lift) so that I have a better understanding of what to expect to be careful with. I know torsion keys are going to extend the depth of the suspension and cause the shocks to not be able to travel as far, but I'd accept a rougher ride as a sacrifice for running bigger tires and having higher clearance. Here are some pictures of the truck I've bought (no I didn't pay the sticker price). Thanks guys

  19. Hey guys, Just wanted to see what y'all thought about this price I've been quoted for a 6.5" Zone Lift for my 2015 Silverado 1500, 20x10 -12 offset Maverick Wheels and 35x12.5 Cooper S/T Maxx Tires. Total cost for all of it including mounting / balancing tires, shipping costs, and lug nuts all for $3700 even. Brand NEW! Let me know what yall think. Should I pull the trigger?
  20. Hey guys im new to this forum and i signed up because i needed help decided how high i should lift my 2017 silverado black out edition. The highest i think id go is 6 inches but rough country only goes up to 7.5 and the next highest is 5 which i might do. fabtech has 6 inch kits but i really dont know how good they are compared to rough country. Anyway all feedback is appreciated let me know your opinions and show me pics of stock vs 6 and 5 if you have it thank you all for reading
  21. Gents I'm a newbie, I currently have a 2015 6.2L 1/2 ton Silverado Double Cab that I'd like to lift but am having a hard time deciding between: BDS / Pro-Comp / Zone / Rough Country I'm choosing to go with a 6" lift and have been told Rough Country is pretty much bottom of the barrel. I really like their price and am curious if anyone has ever had any issues. I've always been known to go with the best of the best and I understand BDS is pretty much the best. What's your opinions? I would appreciate any helpful knowledge from you guys. Thanks!
  22. Hi all, Still relatively new to the site, so please excuse me if this is a duplicate post of sorts. I am looking to eventually do a lift/level on my 2017 ATX. I would love to keep it as stock as possible... So.. my question is, can I swap stock suspension for stock suspension... I have a 1500, can I take 2500 or 3500 suspension to bump it up noticeably with out modifying severely? Open to all and any comments! Thanks!
  23. I’ll try to keep this short and sweet. I have a 2014 Sierra 1500 4x4 (Crew Cab, SLT, Z71, blah, blah, blah) with 3:42 gears. I’m running stock rubber. 275/55 R 20. I believe these are 31.9 inch tall tires. My plan is to lift my truck and tune it as soon as I hit 36,000 miles. I want to run 35’s after I get my 6 inch lift installed. I found this calculator. http://www.4lo.com/calc/geartire.php I’ve been pretty obsessed with it and the numbers it’s giving me since I found it. If I want to run a 35 inch tire, my current tire size is 31.9, and I have 3.42 gears front and rear, to keep the same gear ratios, I’d need a 3.75:1 axle ratio. Which is pretty close to 3.73. Catch my drift? I know I’ll never get the acceleration and fuel economy back after taller and heavier tires, but shouldn’t my truck be pretty close in drivability and at least in the same ball park with stock fuel economy and acceleration if I were to install some 3.73 gears at the same time as I installed the tires? Someone out there has to have done this same swap with this setup. Just curious about the results.
  24. I finally up graded my suspension lift on my truck to a 6" RCX lift in conjunction with a 1.25 RC body lift. so in total im running 7" of lift on my 2009 Chevy silverado 1500. i would like to run 35" tires with 18" wheels. i currently run 34" on 20" wheels and dont like how thin they are. im wondering about back spacing recommended to do this. im already planning on trimming some off the front and doing the "NorCal" fender mod. im new to worrying about back spacing so all knowledge and recommendations are welcomed. Thanks! pics of the lift are not up yet pics on my profile are outdated
