Hello all, I am the proud new owner of a 2016 Crimson Red 1500 All Terrain Premium 5.3 (8 speed). This is not only my first "New" vehicle, but it is also my first full size pickup. The truck only has 500 miles at this times, and it is my daily driver here in the Northeast. Thus far I am pleased with the truck, steering is tight, brakes well, the comfort level is great, technology is impressive, and the styling awesome. My only criticisms thus far may be due to my lack of familiarity with GMC trucks, and even my lack of experience with owning a brand new vehicle. First off, and im sure I am going to get beet up over this, but the fuel "economy" is pretty bad. I understand it is a truck and it is new, however with very conservative highway driving and limited city, I am averaging 14-15 mpg (93 octane, New Jersey winter). This is far below advertised or even what most people get with there older trucks. Another thing I noticed is that it lacks throttle response at essentially any speed unless the throttle is mashed. It seems like the transmission is a bit lost and cant choose which of the 8 gears it should be in. At highway speeds, there is really no part throttle acceleration, you really have to get on it for the trans to downshift and make the truck move. This is also my first experience with "cylinder killing" which I am also unsure of. It seems that I only move down to V4 when there is practically no throttle input or if I am traveling downhill. The instant there is a throttle input I am back in V8 and down to 9 mpg to accelerate even on the highway. I assume (hope) that all of these things will sort themselves out as the truck is new, as I have heard there is a period when the truck is in "learn mode". I am unsure if this is correct or how long is stays in the "mode", and more importantly how I should be driving in this "mode". Much of my driving is highway cruise control set, which doesnt really provide much "learning variables". Any suggestions or comments from those who have owned newer generation Sierras would be appreciated.

Just looking for some help with this...looking at PlastiDip'n my front bumper on my 2015 All Terrain to protect the painted bumper for the winter from stone chips off sanded roads. I am wondering how hard it comes off after an entire winter? Will it be enough to protect it? Also looking at doing my OEM oval chrome side steps to protect them. Looking for any advice or experience you have had with PlastiDip. My climate for winter is cold, living in NB, Canada!!! Thanks.

New member from Wesley Chapel, Florida. I have been on the forum for a year or so looking at all the truck pictures and common topics for my current ride, 2007 Silverado extended cab 4x4 LTZ. It has been a great daily driver, hunting rig and tow vehicle. At about 70k it was in much need of shocks and upper control arms, so the from suspension got a full rebuild. From all the reading I went with Bilstein 5100s to level the truck and give it a great ride. As much as I do enjoy my current truck and would like to keep it, I am in need of more room expecting a new born. It only has 80k now and will hopefully stay in the family as my brother in law wants it. On March 24th I ordered a GMC Sierra 1500 Black on black All Terrain CC Short bed with the 6.2. It has been terrible playing the waiting game, especially when you pick out exactly what you want. truck last week made it via ship to the port of Jacksonville and may have finally cleared customs today. Hopefully it will be on a truck and headed south in the next few days to week. Glad to be apart of a great forum that allows us to share in our truck passion and experience. Kenny

I have some stuff floating around that needs to go. I will be taking Reasonable offers on everything. If you want something, we can figure out shipping cost after price is set. Nothing is broken, or missing tabs. [/L]

I'm looking at purchasing a 2013 GMC Sierra 1500 All Terrain SLT Crewcab and the driveshaft is black - every other driveshaft I've seen/owned in a GMT-900 crew cab was aluminum and was not painted (probably clear coated?) but definitely metal colored. What is this black driveshaft? Is it something special because of the All Terrain package? Something they did because the truck was built for GM as an autoshow vehicle? The truck has the 3.08 rear end if that matters.

Ok so I've probably missed a post about this already or just didn't look hard enough or whatever it doesn't matter anyway I'm looking for the All Terrain wheels and I'm not wanting to get any type of aftermarket kind. So is anyone looking to sell theirs or willing to negotiate something? If not does anyone know the part number or a way that I could get them through a GM outlet store like Gmpartsoutlet.net and so on. I'm fairly certain everyone knows what they look like haha Thanks

Im looking into getting some new tires size 275/70/18. BFG All Terrain T/A KO are my first choice based on looks and reviews. But i noticed that the 275/70/18 size is not snowflake rated while most other sizes are. It snows where I live so snow performance is somewhat important to me. The tires dont have to be incredible in snow but difinetly much better than stock... Should i worry about this size not having the snowflake rating? Im assuming they will perform very close to the BFG sizes that do have the snowflake but I really dont know. Can anyone help me out with this? Or anyone with these exact tires tell me how they perform in winter conditions? Thanks!

Hey guys, newbie from northern Canada here, I just picked up a 2014 all terrain, 6.2 in iridium metallic. Loving it! I've got some questions regarding lift kit cab heights if anyone has lifted some of the 14's already. I live in a condo building and the parking garage is max clearance is 6'10"...I want to get the biggest lift possible so I was curious as to how tall one of these sits with a 4" lift and 33's...or will I be stuck going the leveling kit route? If anyone has a '14 with a 4" lift, get a tape measure and check it out for me! please. It's a beautiful truck, just can't leave well enough alone!

I have a 2011 GMC Sierra SLT Z71 Crew Cab and I replaced the standard black grill with a grill that came off of a 2013 Sierra All Terrain Edition. I have one pet peeve with the AT grill. On the top cross bar there is a reflection that shows the underside of the hood. I am wondering if the All Terrain edition trucks have an extra or different hood trim piece that attaches to the underside of the hood to hide the unfinished area. If they don't, I am thinking of painting the underside front of my hood flat black or maybe chrome color to improve this reflection. Any thoughts?????

Greetings everyone. I purchased a new Sierra All Terrain about 3 weeks ago. I have always had Chevy's before and been without a truck for the last 3 years. My last truck was a 2008 Silverado. I like the front end on these new GMC's a little better than the Chevy. At any rate, great to be back in a truck and looking forward to exchanging some great information and making some new friends.

I am looking to purchase some new tires. I drive a 2012 GMC Sierra SLE 4x4. Along with the tires I am going to get the 2.25 in ReadyLift Level Kit. So i am pretty sure I can fit 285/65/18. Stock wheels. I had the chrome packsage so it is the chrome wheels, im not a huge fan of chrome so I actually painted the mirros and handles back to the truck color. (photo attached). I have owned a pair of BFG ATs on a Jeep and I loved them, I also owned a pair of Mickey Thompsons on a reg cab WT and they looked great (photo attached)... but you had to rotate them religously or they would wear uneven. Reading other posts Nitto Terra Grapplers seam popular, along with BFG AT, Cooper, and I read some things on Toyo ATII. I drive 85% highway. to and from the formal prison (work) and then typically deer or waterfowl hunting or helping work on the farm on the weekends. I get into some mud and snow.. I live in Missouri, but I defintely want something that will do good in the rain on the highway. I had Firestone Destination AT -terrible in the rain and snow. Any suggestions are appreaciated. Thanks!!
