  1. looking for amp install locations and ideas in my 2015 sierra 2500 cc. not enough room behind the rear seats and cant afford to lose any room in the back!
  2. If you saw my comment in our Live Review of a 2014 Silverado over the last week, you know that I ran into some issues trying to listen to Bluetooth audio through my phone. I've since confirmed using some diagnostic apps that using multiple devices running Android 4.2.2 and 4.3, only the left channel is played through the MyLink system. What we can't figure out is... why?? Is there anyone else with these new trucks that has tried Bluetooth audio streaming? How is it working for you? Also, what device, OS, and OS version are you running? What version of MyLink is installed on your truck? Here Devices we tried Galaxy S4 running Android 4.2.2 Nexus 7 running Android 4.3 This Silverado was running MyLink software "version" 23174395 and we only heard audio from the left channel Any one with other Android and Apple devices that can try this out and let us know what happens?
  3. Sold (actually given away already!)
  4. I have a 93 1500 Chevy k pickup, got about 208xxx miles and about 3 months ago my radio started to just randomly cut out while playing. It doesn't reset any preset stations or the clock but the speakers will stop working. The only way to get it to work again is to turn the truck off for at least an hour and turn it on again, however it will cut out a couple minutes after. Is this a fuse issue? Wiring issue? Had anybody have this problem before it seems odd.
  5. The music sounds great as usual, but the connected party is complaining of my audio (crackling, raspy, choppy) when calling via my Apple iPhone X and connected to bluetooth. I didn't have this issue with my previous phone and other devices don't seem to have the same experience. Has anyone else experienced this with a new phone?
  6. I have a '15 Sierra SLE Doublecab non bose and no nav. I'm going to use factory wiring for this setup as long as people seem to think it's acceptable. I listen to mostly country/rock/metal and some older rap stuff. Here is the hardware I have planned but not finalized if anyone has any suggestions. Amp: Pioneer GM-D9605 (75X4 @4 ohm + 1x350 @4 ohm(600 @2 ohm)) Front Door: Rockford Fosgate Punch P1692 6x9 Coaxial Dash Speakers: Stock Rear Door: Rockford Fosgate Punch P1650 6.5" Coaxial Sub: Pioneer TS-SWX2502 (Open to other suggestions, just the best performance to size and price I could find as the double cab doesn't have tons of free space) Front Door Adapter: Metra 82-3004 Rear Door Adapter: Scosche SAGMHR634B Also using factory replacement speaker connectors for simplicity. I plan on grabbing the Metra 71-2107 to go from the HU to my amp line level inputs which will also turn the amp on. Then using the Metra 70-2057 to go back to the factory speaker harness. This way whenever I eventually trade the truck in I can keep my amp. Does anyone know how long these cables are? Any recommendations or suggestions?
  7. Before investing tons of $$ would love to hear what the kicker system, or any other, sounds like...Wondering if anyone in the Bay Area, CA happens to have a setup and would let me hear it? Thanks!
  8. So I had an insane custom system in my previous BMW and am wanting a bit more in my truck. Nothing insane just better than stock. Crisper, cleaner, more defined. 2017 Silverado crew cab Z71, no bose. Are there 6 speakers total? What sizes are they in each location? What power ratings are they? Thinking about the Kicker upgrade with DSP and replacing stock speakers with better ones. Does the new kicker amp power just front and rear doors? Anything go to the dash speakers? Anyone put tweets in dash location and mids in doors? Is there any control over kicker dsp? Thank you!
  9. long time listener, first time caller... I have a 2015 Silverado with the 8" screen with the I05 hmi module and have the weirdest issue I have ever seen. While driving or at a stop light, if I wipe the dust off the dashboard with my hand directly over the radio (the high hump in the dash right in front of the light sensor), all of the audio goes silent. No radio, turn signal clicks, no phone, etc. The radio is still on, but nothing. Power cycling does nothing, but shutting off the truck and waiting 5-10 minutes works. I assume the static electricity does something?? It is just simple wiping of the hand on the plastic dash, not banging or moving the dash. I did it accidentally the first time, and have been able to do it 2 other times. It's not every single time, but is semi-repeatable. I'm taking it into the dealer soon, but I'd like to know if anyone else has had this. Thanks!
  10. Hey all, we're a local Chevy dealer with a strong ecommerce presence. We have the lowest prices on the Kicker subwoofer package for the 2014+ Silverado & Sierra Crew & Double/Extended Cab sizes. Installation does not require dealer install. it is a plug and play package. We have guaranteed low prices that shouldn't be beat! GM offers a few versions of these units: -Double Cab and Crew Cab models have different parts numbers -They offer just a sub upgrade, or they offer the sub upgrade plus amplifier on the door speakers. *The standard Sub upgrade works with the Bose system. *The kit including Sub plus Amp on the door speakers will NOT work with Bose systems. For a price, please send us a message with your body style truck, and which kit you would be interested in plus your Zip Code for shipping. Everything is in stock ready to ship. Forum members will find that our prices on all GM accessories will be hard to beat. Please message me with any questions on this or any other accessory you may need for your truck. *** Currently running a little bit of a deeper discount on the crew cab models, with just the sub upgrade. Buy cheap, sell cheap is the name of the game***
  11. Model: 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500 double cab So I got a pioneer 5 channel amp with speaker wire inputs so I can keep my factory radio. I Cut the factory harness speaker wires leaving the power and ground wire intact. Ran the speaker wire to the amp, and then from the amp back into the factory harness. Powered up everything and I am getting no signal, my chimes don't work, no sound at all. Took it to Best Buy, guy said I did everything correctly, and couldn't figure it out either. Anyone have this problem or got an idea? I even tried changing connection to a line out converter and still nothing. Everything is brand new.

  14. As I'm sure many of you folks are aware, they're adding a "projection" option to the 2016 Silverados and Sierras within Mylink/Intellilink. Do any of you know if it would be possible to add these features to a 2014-15 Silverado via a software flash, HMI swap (as some people already do to upgrade to nav), or other means? Any info or insight would be appreciated. I don't care much for factory navigation, but having Google Maps on my truck's display would be awesome.
  15. I'm planning on adding component speakers and aftermarket amplification to my 2015 Bose System with Subwoofer. I've seen several posts stating that the chimes were extremely loud after amplification. I know that the head unit controls don't adequately lower the volume. Has anyone successfully bypassed or attenuated the chimes yet? I read that theoretically you could tap into the post-Bose amp rear speaker signal and then split you your components and sub signals from this. The chimes apparently go through the front left speaker. Would this allow you to still use bluetooth for phone, etc, and is this the best option? Any ideas?
  16. Anyone have any information on relocating the two computer modules behind the factory head unit? I've got the basic, non-bose HU and buying the 8" is just not an option, as it will not meet my standards, nor would I pay that much. That being said, this is really the main thing from holding me back. I've done a good amount of research, but I've yet to find any solid information. Thanks!
  17. I'm about to upgrade the door speakers in my 05 sierra. Anyone know if 3/4 baffles mounted to the stock location will fit? Will the speaker have enough clearance to allow the door panel to fit properly?
  18. Hello all! Thankyou for reading this post, I hope it helps others as well as me. Here is the problem: I own a 2006 chevy Silverado z71 package, and the rear speakers have not worked since I bought the truck. about a year ago, I replaced the factory deck with a JVC deck, and still the rear speakers had no sound. ive checked my wiring, and everything is hooked up right, I even ran a new ground wire. I thought I had blown something in the deck itself, so after much deliberation, I bought yet another deck, as well as two new back speakers. I replaced the deck again, AND the speakers. still no sound. I have ran new wires to the speakers to rule out faulty factory wiring. I am Stumped... any help would be muchly appreciated. thanks for reading!
  19. So I installed the Kicker Soundgate Powerstage about a month ago for my 2011 Silverado crew cab(non-Bose). System sounds great, was a breeze to install, high quality components. Anyone who knows about these systems knows how expensive they are, and well, some things happened, long story short, I'm in a serious bind for cash, so I'm offering the system up for sale. I won't give you a long review on what it is or what it does, if you're looking at this you probably know exactly what it is and have done some research(it's a 10 inch sub and amp in a box custom to fit under the back seat, and a separate 4 channel amp for all other speakers while keeping the factory stereo.) I will say that it is awesome as it should be for how outrageously expensive it is. It's 1,249.99 on Crutchfield, and I was not able to find it any cheaper anywhere else. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_206PSICRE7/Soundgate-Powerstage-System-by-Kicker.html Like I said, it is virtually brand new, perfect condition, only been installed for maybe a month. I hate I have to do this but I just do. So, anyone who has been considering this system and has been hesitant about the price, here's your chance to get it MUCH cheaper. First person to offer up $950 gets it. I live in the Triangle area of North Carolina, Willing to drive half way if reasonable distance, or we can discuss shipping.
