  1. Hey guys, Cold weather has made me take out my winter front for my grille for the first time. It has a convenient hole for the camera but looks awful as 4 inches of the grill on either side are still showing. Is everyone else’s like this or did the dealership give me the wrong one?
  2. Good morning all! I have a question for you who have heated seats and even heated steering wheels. When I would use my remote start in my 2008 in the winter, it would automatically turn on my heated seats (as well as the heater/defrost). My 2016, I went into my settings on the computer and selected that option to turn on when using my remote. I have tried it several times, and for whatever reason the remote start will not turn on the seats or the steering wheel until I physically put the key in and turn in on...anyone else having this issue? any fix? I know there are plenty of comments waiting to say, "man up' and 'Who cares about heated seats' and things of that nature...to that I say, when its below 25 degrees...its cold...call me a sissy all you want, I paid for these things, I want them to work. Thanks for the help in advance.
  3. I live in New York and this morning the temp read 16 degrees in the truck. I noticed the steering was noticeably stiffer. Even after a 10 minute remote start and 15 minutes of driving it continued to feel this way. When I left work in the late afternoon is was 26 degrees and the steering felt the same as it did in the morning. I've lived in NY my whole life and never experienced this in any other car I've owned. Being it's my first winter with my truck I have to ask-does anyone else experience this or is my issue completely unrelated to the weather?
  4. I just bought a 2015 Sierra 1500 and am in the bitter cold of Minot, ND. It averages -20 in the winter, I only drive about 3/4 mile to work, so my truck NEVER reaches optimum temps. I have an engine block heater, but my work doesn't have plug ins. I have been considering getting a winter grill cover (like you see on diesel engines) to help the truck warm up faster. I have never seen this done on a gas engine before, would installing a grill cover increase the longevity of the truck or just be a waste of $50. I've read that gas engines only need 30sec to warm up, but I'm not sure that is referring to temps as low as what I see here. Any advise is helpful.
  5. 99 Silverado with 170k miles. Idles just fine when in Park, but when I shift it in to Drive and then come to a stop in traffic or stop light the idle is rough and seems like truck is about to stop. I'm guessing this has something to do with clutch not fully engaging? I should add that the cold weather in Colorado has made this problem appear. I hadn't noticed this issue until the last few days where it's been around 2 degrees out. Thanks, chris
