My seats get "slightly warm" when on the highest setting. So I thought I would have it addressed at my next oil change. While my car was at the dealership (to have this and other problems looked at along with the oil change) they rented me a 2016 gmc acadia slt. The heated seats were great!!!! So I definitely thought my seats were broken in my tahoe....nope, "all models are like that now, too many complaints about seats getting too hot." My thought was that is why there are 3 different settings, turn down the seat and don't have yor seat on so high. Im surprised that there are not more complaints about this. Anybody else have this issue? -
Please help!! I’m becoming extremely frustrated with the seats in my 2014 Sierra SLT. Here is the current situation, both front seats do not have working heat (lumbar and bottom) which leads me to believe that it would be pretty slim chances all 4 of those elements would be shot. What is weird is the cooled seats work on each side, and when I press the heated seat button for either side, the lights come on. I’ve checked every fuse imaginable and used a test lift to see if the elements are getting power, and they were not. What would make the elements not get power? A module or something? Any help would be appreciated as I can’t seem to find anything after my hours on forums. Pretty disappointed in a newer truck that is causing me issues like this. -
I finished replacing the seat heater elements on my driver seat over the weekend and wanted to post a bit of the process to replace them. It took me less than 3 hours, including a break for dinner. In my post under the topic Heated seats not working, page 14 I posted about my troubleshooting using PIT543A (Diagnostic Tips – Front Heated Seats). In brief, I went through the troubleshooting steps and identified the problem as both of my heating elements that were impeding with too much resistance to function. I have a 2014 Crew Cab SLT with Heated and Cooled seats and the safety seat vibrator. The part numbers I ordered were 23170194 and 23223775. They were perfect replacements, and I could also tell that there were some minor updates I could see from my originals. Hopefully GM has fixed the garbage heaters that were installed originally and this time they’ll last a lot longer. The heating pads have the cooling layer built-in to allow the seat venting to blow through the seat. The heating element is covered by a felt material that sits right against the leather. Under that is the layer for the ventilation material, which feels a lot like bubble wrap and allows the air to flow out through nickel sized holes spaced around the heating pad layer. So contrary to some reports from dealers trying to explain poor performance, the heating element is directly against the leather… the venting layer is thus under the heating layer. On to the actual work. The first step to the repair was removing the seat. Take the headrest off, it'll be easier to if you just get it out of the way right away. Removing the rigid seat back is easy, and you can follow PI1091 for more info on that. There are only 2 T50 bolts holding the seat in place. Remove the plastic trim covering the seat tracks, and move the seat forward enough to get access to the bolts at the rear of the tracks. With the trim removed, you can break the bolts loose and remove them. I read this next tip online, but disconnect the negative battery lead before removing the big yellow and grey wire connector that you can now see with the trim removed. That way you avoid potentially, yet unlikely, causing an air bag light to come on in your dash that your dealer would have to reset. Slide the red safety tab back on the connector, then rotate the grey latch to disengage the connector. This is the only connector going between the seat itself and the vehicle body. At this point I took off all the seat trim I could get to. The trim piece with the power seat controls has a hidden philips screw that is on the lower front of the seat that you have to get to from behind the trim. Otherwise, all the other trim has visible screws. Next, remove the seat belt anchor (another T50 bolt). You'll have to take off another piece of seat trim covering the pretensioner assembly, and disconnect a wire that runs to the seat belt pretensioner trigger. The pretensioner wire comes off by first prying up on the red safety tab, and then it just lifts straight off.

Was wondering if anyone has had this problem. My driver side heated seats work fine with the dash button working also. The passenger sides button doesn’t light up or anything and I can’t seam to find any blown fuses. Help please! -
I have a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT with heated seats ONLY, not cooled. The seat back heaters work really well on both sides on the passenger and driver seat, but the seat portion does not heat on either sides. The button lights up like it's turned on, but doesn't heat up. When I remote start the seat back won't heat up either, even though in the InteliLink the option is set to turn on seat heaters when remote started. Why wouldn't they turn on the steering wheel heat with the remote start too? Has anyone found any solutions for this? When I would remote start my 07 it would turn the seat heaters on and blast the defroster on high heat. From what I understand, the newer generation doesn't do this? It has be turned on before you shut it off? I liked the earlier function where it would turn it high heat and then when the key was turned on it would go back to where it was set when shut off. Seems like we may be going backwards here on the technology..... -
Hey guys, I am new to the forum. I just bought a 2014 in sept have about 5000 miles on the truck and my heated seats are not working. One time I turn it on the bottom warms and the back doesn't then later that same day the back is warm and the bottom is not. Sometimes it works perfectly others it fails completely. Anyone else have any issues? The dealer has tried 3 times to get this working but not having any luck at all. I am starting to think I bought a 50K Lemon Jamie

So my heated seats work great in the summer but they seem to go on vacation in the Bahamas or something once the temp drops to where one would need the heat. PLEASE HELP (MY REAR END WILL THANK YOU WHEN IT GETS COLD )

My driver and passenger heated seats quit working but the cooled seats work does anybody know what I should check first I just think it’s odd that the driver and passenger side heated seats quit working at once but the cooled seats still work

I have turned on heated seats under my remote start preferences yet when I enter my 2017 Yukon Denali, the seat heater lights are not on and the seat is not warm. Any suggestions? -
I have had my truck at the GMC dealership for 3 days now for an oil change and to check into why my heated seated were not working. They first told me they need to replace my body control module. They did that it and they then said they had a bad board and they needed to try another one. They tried another one and then told me I needed to bring in my second key fab so it would program properly. They completed the install and took it for a test drive. It only worked temporarily. Now they are saying they need to replace the 2 elements in both seats. The total repair will be $2200 for the BCM and the four elements. Because I am not a mechanic, I looking for some one with a mechanical backround to tell me is this legit? Do I need both a BCM and 4 elements replaced to get them to work?

So anyone else with a 2014 and up truck have dead heated seats? Less than 60k on the truck and they are broken. Dealer quoted me 1300.00 to fix them with oem pats. No new part numbers or updated parts. I know several people who's seat heaters don't work. The dealer said they replace them all the time, and gm has no known fix to solve the problem. I'm not paying 1300.00 to replace my junk seat heaters with more junk seat heaters.

I'm new to the forum. I have a 2006 GMC Sierra 1500 Crewcab 4x4 SLE. My problem is somewhat intermittent. Mostly on rainy days the drivers door lock and all of the controls on the drivers door will not work until in unplug the unit for a few minutes, then it will usually work. Also this is an old company truck that was used in a limestone quarry for the last year or 2 before I bought it. My question is, if unplugging the switch assembly gets everything to working again, is the switch assembly the likely culprit causing the issue or is it possibly something else? Any help will be greatly appreciated. This truck has heated seats and memory for the seat and mirrors. The mirrors are also power folding and auto dimming with turn signals. One additional note is that the power drivers seat and seat heaters for the drivers seat have not worked in quite some time. Thank you for any help.

Good morning all! I have a question for you who have heated seats and even heated steering wheels. When I would use my remote start in my 2008 in the winter, it would automatically turn on my heated seats (as well as the heater/defrost). My 2016, I went into my settings on the computer and selected that option to turn on when using my remote. I have tried it several times, and for whatever reason the remote start will not turn on the seats or the steering wheel until I physically put the key in and turn in on...anyone else having this issue? any fix? I know there are plenty of comments waiting to say, "man up' and 'Who cares about heated seats' and things of that nature...to that I say, when its below 25 degrees...its cold...call me a sissy all you want, I paid for these things, I want them to work. Thanks for the help in advance.

I have a 2012 gmc Sierra all terrain. I ordered and installed o e m heated seat kit. Took to dealer to get it programmed. Dealership said it took the programming. They never could get the door switches to turn the heated seats on . The seats will come on when using the remote start though. Dealership had the truck for 3 weeks and finally gave up. Any idea as to what could be the problem?

Ok, so either I am a little slow (very possible!) or I am missing an important step...my '08 had the remote 'synced' to my truck...and it would recognize when I (my remote) unlocked the doors and my wife's...and it would adjust the seats to the person...when you use the remote start it would recognize the outside temp and if it were cold outside, it would turn on the seat heaters... When I first got my truck, I synced my remote so it does recognize me as 'Driver 2' and my wife as 'Driver 1'... Now, I went to my settings and worked through all the steps I found in the owners manual, my truck still recognizes me, but it will not automatically move my seats back to my position (if my wife drives my truck) and it won't turn the cooled or heated seats on... Again...I know this is first world problems and all...but I figure if I have the options I paid for, I want them to work... Any advise? or are there some key steps the owners manual left out that I need to go back and try?

I feel like the heated seats in my 2014 denali don't get very warm at all. In my previous 2007 silverado ltz, those seats could damn near cook an egg, these seats I'm not sure if they are warming me up, or if I'm just warming them up. Any one else have this issues?
