  1. Recently bought a leather steering wheel from a 2012 2500 sierra. I swapped it into my 2007nnbs silverado ls/base model. I've searched for hours trying to find the correct information on what I need to get the radio controls to work. The harness that came with the wheel had 1 more wire than the ls model did. Original harness had 6 wires. New wheel had 7 wires. Everything I looked up said the swap should be plug and play. But it is not. I need some help to know what I really need? New clockspring? Different harness? Harness behind clockspring? Or is it just not compatible at all? Picture is of new steering and harness that came with it Thanks everyone!
  2. 2014 Sierra 5.3 My truck developed a new shake/hard vibration. While in park I feel it a little, but when I shift to Reverse the shakes starts. Then when I shift to Neutral, it's stops. When in drive, the shakes starts again. Blower motor seems to be fine. While in Park, the motor and belts look normal. As well as under the truck, nothing seems to be moving. Engine mounts looks solid.
  3. Hey guys, I have a 2017 Silverado 1500. A month or 2 ago I had to get the transmission replaced, it’s still shifting very odd and just feels off. Jerking when going into certain gears, doesn’t want to shift at times etc. Is there anything I should take care of myself before taking it to the dealership again… this new trans has a 3 year warranty. Sorry that I am not the best at explaining issues like this, so any help is much appreciated
  4. Hi just wondering if anyone would be able to help. My truck makes this rattling noice when being accelerated. When it started it wasn't that bad but has progressively got worse. It's worse when it's cold then goes away for the most part once the engine is warmed up. Sounds like it's coming from the front end. Thank you! 20220307_163644.mp4
  5. I have a 2018 Silverado 4x4 and I replaced the factory fog lights with ones from Diode Dynamics. The new fogs have an amber backlight that I need to tap somewhere to get power. Can anyone help me with a good location for tapping and what color wire to be looking for? I'm thinking of tapping into DRL so they are on at all times during the day.
  6. 2017 GMC Sierra I want to fit 35s on my stock wheels and have the smallest lift i can do. I don’t want to do a whole lot of cutting maybe no cutting at all. What size lift or level can I do
  7. Does anyone have the files or snapshots of the Computer Data Lines Circuit Schematic for the 2011 Chevrolet Suburban 5.3. Any help would be appreciated, having trouble with UXXX codes...
  8. Alright so my 2006 GMC Sierra was stolen, they stripped my led head lights tail lights 22inch wheels cluster etc. .. I got it back and running but the cluster I replaced mine with was from a Silverado now as I drive the abs lights come on and it says SERVICE BRAKE BOOSTER etc battery light is constantly on when I drive it .. would this be because the cluster I have is not meant for my Sierra ?? Any info helps thanks guys !
  9. I was adding new license plate lights and accidentally removed a parking sensor it’s been extremely hard to put back any advice.
  10. Removed my tailgate earlier this week to have it painted, reinstalled it yesterday and made sure to connect the harness properly. The backup camera works fine, but whenever I try to open the tailgate, either by pressing the button on the tailgate or using my key fob, the taillights flash 3 times and the tailgate doesn't open. From within the cab, I hear a faint clicking, but no error code or anything shows on any display. I have the "power lock and release" standard tailgate, not power lift or multipro. Any help fixing this would be much appreciated!
  11. Hello! I have taken my truck to a couple shops but no one can seem to find what wrong with it. When I come to a stop, my truck acts like it wants to stall out. It doesn't happen all the time but it is becoming more frequent. When stopping, the rpms die, all my gauges drop to zero and all my warning lights flash at me and turn back off. I don't have a check engine light on and when my truck is scanned, there are no codes that come up. I have been told that it is possibly bad torque converter solenoids but I have a weird feeling that I might have some electrical gremlins somewhere. There have been times where I am driving down the road and I go to make sure my windows are rolled up and the gauges due while rolling and my electrics cut out for a second and come back on. There was also once where a truck pulled out down the road from me so I applied the brake to give them room and my truck downshifted hard and jumped to 3500 rpm and felt incredibly sluggish to get back on gas and up to speed. Any help or any direction to a fix is greatly appreciated. Please help me find out what's wrong with my truck! Thank you!
  12. I’ve got a 1995 GMC Sierra 5.7L. I was at the gas station yesterday and as I turned the key, the starter was engaging and doing its thing however it wouldn’t turn over. You can hear the truck trying to start yet you have to give it gas (pressure on the accelerator) in order for it to fire up. After getting the engine to run, it has a rough idle. I can hear the fuel pump whine/hum, and I’m getting fuel pressure through the fuel filter. I have also recently replaced the distributor and spark plugs recently. Any ideas, tips, or pointers?
  13. Hi everyone. It’s my first time here but I need some help. My 2007 Silverado with an LH6 5.3 DOD motor has intermittent oil pressure issues. Alittle back story, the truck has 274k on the original motor. Recently, I replace the valley plate gasket, but only the outer part. For convenience sake, I left the DOD tower gasket part. After that, I replaced the oil pickup tube o ring and gave the truck a full service. My issue now is, I still have intermittent low oil pressure. I’ve read about a service bulletin where the oil pressure relief valve sticks, which requires replacing the oil pump and such but there are so many possibilities I’m not sure what to pursue. I know the oil pressure sensor is good and the screen below it is clean. The issue happens randomly. I can start the truck and it will idle and warm up fine (maybe slightly lower than usual) and then I can drive it. I’ll be sitting at a light or a stop and I can slowly watch the oil pressure fall off. Sometimes even while driving slow and then the oil pressure stays low or 0. It doesn’t cause any bad noises that I know of because I shut it off immediately but I’m so confused. After letting it sit for a bit and starting it up it’s fine. I’ve heard many possibility between it being the oil relief in the pump, the oil relief in the pan that apparently exists, DOD lifter problems (although they aren’t giving me any bad noise) leaking DOD valley gaskets (the ones I skimped on replacing) and more. I’m lost as to what to do. Can anyone offer some insight?
  14. Please help me I'm a clueless girl ....Replaced my knock sencers and spark plugs and wires and that gasket that goes on the manifold now it's running very rough and throwing code p0300.
  15. Hello, I noticed on my 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500hd 6.0 the brake lights were out. Looking further into it it’s only while the headlights are on and the truck is running, all is working fine while truck is off. As soon as I start the truck the brake lights work until I turn on the headlights, then they fade off like they loose power. The turn signals work fine either way and they are on the same led. I’m confused, I can’t find anything wrong. Thanks in advance!
  16. I have a 2005 Tahoe 5.3 with 248,000 miles. On Monday morning I noticed that the cooling fan was running even though I hadn’t started the truck yet. Since then, the cooling fan will run after I turn the vehicle off. What’s odd is sometimes it won’t do it until an hour or 2 after it’s been off. Also my temperature gauge is fine, no overheating. I did a code scan and P0480 comes up. I replaced the relay for cooling fan 1 and no change. I decided to disconnect the battery, cleaned the 2 huge harnesses that go to the PCM, and cleaned the connectors to the fan control fuse block (not sure if that’s the correct term sorry). I even removed and cleaned the connectors to the cooling fans and still no change. Could it be a grounding issue? I think I found the ground connector (passenger side radiator support area) but will have to put the truck on ramps to get a better look and grip on it. I’m kind of lost at this point and was wondering if anyone could help.
  17. Hello, I’ve got a 2008 GMC Sierra SLT with z71 package. I’ve had it stock until this year (2020). Recently put a level it in and had the truck aligned and it ran great. Went to put new tires and rims which are 33x12.5 Toyo open country AT2 extremes on 18x9 fuel assault wheels. The truck obviously had a decrease in power and mpg but recently it has gotten significantly worse. On HWY I can get 18-16 but recently in the city I am getting 11mpg!!! I live in a city with a lot of hills and windy driving so I can attribute that to some of it but it seems low. I’ve looked around and some guys suggest checking air sensors and tune ups, but I am wondering at what point is it a bigger issue? Or is it the reality of a lifted truck with heavy tires? any suggestions are welcome, it has not been 11mpg for long just the last month. Thanks
  18. so I brought my truck in to get detail this past weekend. When I picked it up and drove maybe 50ft my doors locked and then kept constantly locking as if someone was pushing the lock button repeatedly. I took it back to the detailer and of course they claim they didn't do anything and they're not on the hook for fixing it. Has anyone had this issue before? I had a mechanic look at it and he said there is nothing wrong with the switches or door actuators. The truck is now at the dealer and I am hoping I dont have an astronomical bill to pay.
  19. So I noticed in between the driver and rear seat of my 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT underneath the truck was a harness hanging there. I looked up the part number to see what it's purpose was, because I couldn't find anywhere it plugged into. The part number is PBT-GF30. Can someone help me with this? Also my truck is idling in between 500rpm to a little over 1,000rpm when the truck is in park. I changed the intake air flow sensor but didn't do the trick.
  20. 98 Sierra 1500 5.0 vortec 4x4 SLE ext cab 295xxx Ill try to keep this short, any help appreciated thx in advance. My front signal and head light started doing all sorts of weird things head lights flashing with 4 ways, left signal wouldn't work with head lights active. The interior lights where acting weird. Work sometimes. The cluster gage illumination would not turn off. And there was nothing to rear rail or third break lights. Also some funky noises coming from the combo light relay So I thought it was ignition harness, cluster, dimmer switch relay. All fuses where fine. But my cig lighter fuse keeps blowing. So I went to junk yard and grabs some parts. So I tested battery and all the grounds I could find and cleaned them. As a changed parts nothing changed. So I was checking the wire harnesses and found that on the wires that runs back to rear of bed on driver side frame was melted up in spot and arking against the frame. So I patched the wires. Now the truck wont start and no lights will work. If you press break peddle the signal light on cluster light up. But not actual signal lights and if u try to turn fan on it turns the signal lights on cluster on and as ur turn it up the lights get brighter and my interior light on driver side floor won't turn off. All fuses seem fine beside the cig fuse. I'm out of guesses.
  21. I need help im trying to lower my 1995 c2500 extended cab short bed 6 lug truck and neither djm or belteck can help me find the right kit any help or advice would be much appreciated thanks in advance Lolo85
  22. Hello, Took my 04 Silverado 4.3L V6 into the dealer to get a ton of work done. 1. Head Gasket 2. Oil pan gasket. 3. Valve cover. 4 coolant flush. 5. Break line bleed. 6. Replace center support bearing. I'm getting this strong burnt rubber smell from my truck. But only after I have driven it. This morning I let the truck idle to operating temp with the garage door down to see how strong it got. Truck did not smell like burning rubber, I turned my A/C up to see if the compressor was causing it. Still, nothing. Seems like any burn off from the repairs are not causing the odor. Theres no bags or debre stuck on the exhaust. Checked all the wiring they would have messed with in the engine bay, no melting everything is where it should be. Looked at the replacement center support bearing and it looks great. No squiling, no grinding truck runs better than it ever has......... anyone else run into this? Anyone more experienced than I am have any ideas? Thank you for your time.
  23. So I have this 2000 Silverado with a 4L60E auto transmission. It’s got over 200k miles. The 4.3 v6 engine runs great, but half of the time the transmission will barely move the truck. (This is a standard cab 2wd version.) if I’m stopped and I put it in reverse I have to give it a really heavy push on the gas to get it to move.. but on the other side of the coin it will work fine sometimes. The transmission will search aimlessly for a gear but works fine once it finds one. Some days it won’t go over 30mph and other days it works just fine. Could I just have a bad filter or something or do I need a new transmission? Thanks!
  24. Hey! This is a long shot but a little while ago I saw a guy on here who posted his alpine restyle setup for his Silverado and I thought it looked sweet! Well Mostly the speaker pods for the dash. Anyway the full alpine restyle system that gives you the speaker pods is stupid expensive and I already have a system in my truck so I emailed alpine asking if I could purchase them separate and they told me no haha so I was wondering if anyone on here would have any idea how I could get my hands on a set of dash pods or if someone is willing the sell theirs? Thanks !
  25. I was just curious as to whether people ran spacers after they did their lifts. I have read that you need a 1.5" spacer on the rear after adding a 4.5" lift to compensate for the front track width being wider.
