Adaptive cruise, lane keep assist, and auto high beams not working on 2021 Silverado High country.. Water pump recently went out had to get it towed to dealer they replaced it but when I got the car back these don’t work. Third time this truck has been in the shop don’t really feel like taking it back. First time 4WD was broken.. second time my lifters collapsed. Any suggestions on fixing these tech features or should I just take back to dealer.

2019 Silverado high country truck with a gentle 42,000 miles…. Babied. Shift to park message displayed, was difficult to get the massage and the “dining” to go away. Cost me $341 to have it fixed, the dealer said GM helped $ome.. they said 30% with the cost. I’m a couple months outside of the 3 year warranty… lucky me. I feel I shouldn’t have had to pay a cent ….($70K Truck!). But they have trump and you pay… and get screwed…. without even a kiss… even if you own a C7 Corvette. Actually, this problem showed up occasionally / rarely, about 2 years ago… I sort of ignored it as it seemed to always go away. But not recently, last two weeks every time I’d stop the truck. My mistake was not taking a photo of the display two years ago…. Possibly I could have had GM cover the repairs…take note. They replaced the entire “Transmission Control Assembly” (TCA), as you all know most all of today’s dealer mechanics don’t fix anything… they just replace parts. The TCA looks like it located inn the upper part of the steering column connected to or very close / connected to the shift PNRDL lever. See the photos, it appears to me the problem is /was in the bent micro switch lever (flimsy) interfering with the metal frame of the TCA. I believe replacing the $10 micro switch would have solved the problem. If the replaced one is like the old TCA, likely I’ll be replacing it in a few years. I can’t help in how to access the TCA, but though you might like a couple of the photos of the unit.

I purchased a 2021 Silverado Crew Cab High Country 4WD about 4 months ago from Watson Chevrolet in Tucson Arizona. Within week of driving the truck I began noticing some pretty strange sporadic things happening. I started video taping the issues when I could to document what was happening. Ticking noise coming from the engine when cold starting, sporadically have hourglass on stereo saying “loading” it would continue until the engine was turned off and back on then it was OK. “Park Assist” Error message sporadically popping up while driving down the road, Horn honking (three short honks) for no reason while sitting in traffic at a red light. At 900 miles I reached out to the dealer and told them these concerns and issues I was experiencing. The service manager explain to me “the truck has a lot of technology and it just needs to learn your driving habits, you just need to keep driving it” At 11,000 and 3 months after purchasing I get the loud lifter noise, “Service parking brake”message, “steering assist reduced” message, “Service ESC light” and “check engine light” I drove it into the other dealership located in Tucson (O’Reilly Chevrolet), they keep the truck for about three weeks and “replace lifters on one bank and 1 bent push rod” and tell me that they couldn’t duplicate any of the other issues however they did a firmware upgrade and everything should be fine. One week after getting the truck back (11500 miles) I get another check engine light, Keep in mind I can still hear the lifters ticking when starting it first thing in the morning. I take back to the dealer after a week of a being in the shop, They tell me “The check engine light was because there was multiple cylinder misfire and it was the opposite bank from the lifters they replaced” however they can’t duplicate the problem so there’s nothing they can do. They admitted that the computer had logged over 200 misfires on one cylinder and that’s what made the check engine light turned on, then they go on to tell me they can’t duplicate the problem so there’s nothing they can do. I asked them about the ticking noise when starting and the tell me “that’s normal, it’s not lifter noise you’re hearing, it’s the new technology fuel pumps GM is using that’s making that noise” Other issue I have had is the rotors on all four wheels at times will turn blue and discolored as if the brakes and her have been completely overheated. But it’s not the entire rotor It’s only the center inch of all rotors. The inside edge and outside edges look normal. I have a purchased over 11 band new (Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Toyota) Trucks in the past 30 years this is by far the worst freaking vehicle I have ever purchased.

Bought a High Country grill or grille on EBay. Swapped my honeycomb grill or grille out because it was a pain to clean. If anyone wants to buy my chrome honeycomb grill or grille let me know. It was a fairly easy swap. I love the look.

New 2020 Silverado 2500 diesel, newly retired, bought truck to tow a travel trailer. I've been a GM customer and amateur mechanic for over 50 years. I had not driven a 3/4 ton truck for decades, when I test drove a new 2500 I simply was stunned by the ride quality, to say the mechanical engineers have made improvements would be a world class understatement. The power, ride quality and tow features (mirrors and cameras) sold me within weeks of shopping. The size is a little off-putting but after only 8 weeks I have compensated for parking and maneuvering a very large pickup. The truck draws some jokes about its size but I absolutely love the towing performance, it is a worthwhile trade-off for me.

Hello. I’m new to this so any help would be appreciated. I have a 2019 Silverado Custom Trail Boss. I recently saw someone on social media who upgraded the entire interior of their Custom Trail Boss with High Country interior. My main question is about how I go about putting a new High Country cluster in my custom trail boss. I’ll also need the upgraded steering wheel with the buttons on the right side to toggle through the screen. Do I need to get it programmed to work? If so, where can I get that done? Any information on this topic will help me a lot because I can’t seem to find much information anywhere on the internet. Thank you very much for your time. I appreciate your input.

The end of December, I noticed a small amount of oil on the garage floor under the front of rear differential of my 2WD, 2019 High Country. It appeared to be a pinion seal leak. The Dealership concurred and ordered a new front yoke and pinion seal. Today, the Dealership called and informed me that GM did not have the parts so they sent a Complete new rear Differential as a replacement!! Now they need my truck for a Full day to swap rear ends. Appears to be an EXPENSIVE way to replace a $10 part, but GM must know Best!?

I have a 2019 GMC Denali Ultimate. I believe I have the most up to date software in 803. I was at my Chevy dealership with a friend and he was driving a High Country and I noticed the Heads up Display showed audio information and other information when changing channels, etc. My Denali does not do that and I wondered if anyone else knew or saw that the same? Not to say this bad, but would the Silverado have additional features the Sierra would not? I can't believe the Denali would not have "all" the possible features considering one is paying more for it, but from what I have seen, this information is not shown on the GMC's. I have brought this item up previous as those features are shown on GMC's website when advertising features of the Sierra and mentioned it to my dealer but they say there is no way they can find out from General Motors. Can anyone confirm if their Sierra/Silverado shows audio information on their Heads Up Display? Thank you in advance.

IMAGES: Check Out the 2020 Silverado HD High Country
Gorehamj posted a topic in The Newsroom Archive
John Goreham Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com 12-6-2018 Earlier this week Chevrolet released the first photos of the 2020 Silverado HD in LT trim. The response was mixed. Today, the brand is trying again, showing off the better looking HIgh Country trim level. In total, the new Silverado HD will have five unique trim levels. We've already seen the LT, and here are the images of the all-new range-topping Silverado HD High Country. “Truck customers are very clear: They want the perfect truck for them and not a ‘one size fits most’ truck compromised for the masses,” said Mike Simcoe, vice president, Global Design, General Motors. “That insight shaped our strategy for the next-generation Silverado franchise, providing customers more differentiation between the Silverado 1500 and the Silverado HD as well as more personalization and differentiation between individual trim levels.” The two-tone metallic trim you see here is exclusive to High Country models. Read Chevrolet's Press Release On the 2020 Silverado HD High Country CHEVROLET REVEALS 2020 SILVERADO HD HIGH COUNTRY, SECOND OF FIVE DISTINCT MODELS FOR ALL-NEW PICKUP Work Truck, Custom, LT, LTZ and High Country models offer different combinations of design, features and technologies tailored for different customers DETROIT — Chevrolet knows no two truck customers are the same, and as such continues to expand its truck franchise with five distinct trim levels for the all-new Silverado HD: Work Truck, Custom, LT, LTZ and range-topping High Country. This follows the expanded range of customer choices on the all-new Silverado 1500, which has eight distinct trim levels. As with the 2019 Silverado 1500, each 2020 Silverado HD model offers a different level of design, features and technology to meet the individual and rigorous demands of HD owners. “Truck customers are very clear: They want the perfect truck for them and not a ‘one size fits most’ truck compromised for the masses,” said Mike Simcoe, vice president, Global Design, General Motors. “That insight shaped our strategy for the next-generation Silverado franchise, providing customers more differentiation between the Silverado 1500 and the Silverado HD as well as more personalization and differentiation between individual trim levels.” For example, each of the Silverado HD models features distinct exterior design details including grilles featuring either the Chevrolet stamped bar or the iconic Chevrolet bowtie and a mix of black, body color, chrome or the two-tone metallic trim exclusive to High Country models. “We took into account every detail of what customers expect, and how they will use their truck,” said Simcoe. “The results are unique versions of the Silverado HD equally at home working on a construction site or pulling a camping trailer.” The 2020 Silverado HD goes on sale in mid-2019. Stay tuned for more details about the all-new 2020 Silverado HD — including images of Work Truck, Custom and LTZ — closer to launch. Hello. I bought a 2018 Chevy Silverado Duramax 2500HD High Country. We recently took it on a long trip with the travel trailer, and since I had never owned a diesel before, I had no idea what DEF was. We were on the freeway, about a 100 miles from a gas station. I checked my gauge in the truck and the DEF fluid was "ok" and then 30 miles down the road it was not ok. I was wondering if there was a way to check the fluid, either by the computer in the truck or is there a dip stick that I can purchase after market? Thanks for the help. Sue

Quick question for those of you who have a High Country. Is the dash leather, or is it a faux leather like material?

Hello All- I drive a 2017 High Country with 275/55R20 tires. I have put 36000 miles on since I got the pickup May 1st. I am worried about the Goodyear Eagle tires in the snow. I'm concerned they are too wide. I have found several manufactures of 235/55R20 tires. Looking for opinions. Thank you!!

Last week, during our monthly trip to buy groceries, I ran across a newer Silverado in a parking lot. It was a “Rocky Mountain Edition” LT in deep ocean blue. A very clean truck. I was struck by how phenomenal the badges looked. It is a blown up version of the mountains in the High Country emblem. I really want one of these emblems. i have had no luck finding a source for this emblem. All I want are the mountains. The name badge is cool, but not for me. Does anyone here have a line on this badge? Has anyone else seen one of these special edition trucks? I was was thinking that the mountain badge would look nice on the lower right corner of my High Country truck’s tailgate. Maybe even stripping off all of the other emblems on the tailgate. Before anyone mentions that the truck might start to look funny with yet another piece of chrome, I have color matched the door handles, mirror caps, grille surround and headlight frames. I am also in the process of swapping out the chrome trim strip (door ding guards) on the lower quarter of the doors to a color matched one as well as going to black window trim. Help me out with a source for the badge and your opinion on using it as trim.

We have a 2015 Chevy High country. We have 65,000 miles on the truck at the moment. The front drivers side wheel hub assembly went out 2 weeks ago, the AC compressor fan sheered off 5 days ago, the engine has a ticking noise and the transmission has shifting problems. The tranny problem has been "fixed" 3 times. We are still having issues obviously. Wondering if any others have had any or all.of these problems.

Hi everyone, I bought in 2014 a brand new Chevy 1500 High Country. Three years later I brought back my truck to the dealership one more time to get all the bugs fixed before the warranty ended. The truck has 20,000 Kms which is approx. 13,000 Miles. I kept the rims all year round, same as my running boards. My running boards were changed due to corrosion fyi. Three of the four rims have started to peel around the valve stem. The dealership polished them to see if that would resolve the issue but of course did not and you can definitely see that the chrome is coming off. The dealer called GM which said they would replace 2 rims but I would have to pay for the other 2 at cost. Not sure why they would not just cover it all, especially when I came across another GMC truck owner get all 4 of his rims replaced. Does anyone else on here have got that issue and what did the dealership / GM do to fix this issue for you. Any info would help as I will be speaking with the owner of the dealership soon to discuss this further. Please comment and let me know what you think or what your experience was with this issue. Thank you, PEB

So I've got a set of High Country wheels here located in Central NJ. Was offered 800 for just wheels before individual knew about the curb rash on one so I'd like to get 700 for the wheels. 1000 for everything. I'd sell just the wheels or just the tires or just a wheel it doesn't matter to me just make me an offer. Local Pickup only or I'd drive to meet you an hour or so.
