  2. Hey I have a 2013 GMC Sierra 5.3 that I love. It has a K&N Blackhawk CAI with a diablosport tuner on it. Exhaust wise, I started out with single in dual out flow master 40 series that I had fun with. The time came where I wanted louder so I welded in a Electric Cutout with a turndown. This mod has been a blast as it is really loud. The time as come to go louder The sad thing is that I live in an emissions county so I cannot just go straight up catless. Does anyone have any super loud, obnoxious, and crazy setups they can share with me?? Anything helps guys, thanks!

  4. Hello. I have had trouble starting this suburban in cold weather (15 degrees F and below) since I have owned it (8 years). Here are the symptoms: When it is that cold, the engine will misfire, and want to quit on startup. I need to rev the engine for the first minute or two to keep it running. Once it warms up, the misfire will be gone. When it is below zero, it won't start at all, unless the block heater is plugged in. When I try to start (without block heater) , it will crank and crank with no start. With block heater, once it starts, it will misfire for 5-10 mins, probably, until the idle is smooth. I have not seen misfiring under any other conditions with this engine. I pulled the codes, and found two evap codes (I think P0442 and P0453) which I suspect don't contribute to this problem. I have historically had P0446 codes (live on gravel, constantly plugged EVAP system, but that is another story....) To cope with the EVAP system plugging, I have kept the gas cap cracked open, otherwise the fuel tank will develop a bad vacuum. I suspect the gas cap causes the P0442, for sure. I also found a P0300, random misfire code stored. I assume this is during the aforementioned cold startup stumbling. I cleared the codes tonight, and will check them again in a day or so. Any thoughts?? I suspect bad intake gasket (never replaced it), but don't know for sure.

  6. Has anyone tried to move the outside air temp sensor into their airbox so it would act as an intake air temp gauge? Anyone have any comments on the idea?

  8. Just wanted to say I cleaned my throttle today and I saw an immediate difference in the truck. everyone with a rough idle or a vibration at 900-1000 rpm should look into this. both were problems I had and after cleaning the throttle and intake my idle is so smooth I have to stare at the needle to see any movement. also if you look back at my posts I had a vibration at 1000 rpm or so and so far that seems gone as well, If there is any change I will update this post for future reference to anyone that reads this. by the way the truck is a 2009 Silverado 5.3 ext cab z71 with afm. hope this helps anyone else with those problems
  9. Hey guys. I have a 2014 Chevy Silverado EcoTec3 5.3L Regular Cab and I want to build it to run decent track times. Decent meaning at least 11's. I don't really know much about the 5.3L and I would really like help on what should be done to run times like that. What cam? Intake? TB? Head swap maybe? Will even consider Turbos, supercharger, or a procharger. Also rear gears, will tranny hold up at the torque needed? Can I do this without messing with the bottom end at all? I'm open to anything and everything. The truck will not be driven on the street very much, I work 100+ hrs/wk but I'd find time to take it to the track. Thank you.
  10. Hey guys, I threw a K&N cold air kit on my 5.3 today, and holy Moses does it ROAR in the cab when I get on the accelerator. I've never had one this noisy before. I also have a Flo Pro muffler, still too cheap for cat back exhaust. It doesn't really bother me that much, but it seems abnormally loud. Maybe it's just because the truck was so quiet before. I checked everything after taking it for a test drive and it was all still connected firmly. It's probably normal, but I figured I'd see what others have experienced.
  11. normaly i read other peoples stories and pick up a bit here and there but this time its important, and alot of you guys seem pretty knowledgable , my intake leaked like a steam pot and ive had to move the truck a few times and ran it till the tempature rose almost to high . had to jump start it a couple of times and now it seems like the timing is weird before starting it turns fast then slow then fast and so on until it starts , id like to just replace the motor , it has over 250000 miles but money is funny, so im gonna have to do it piece by piece,,,,, i need advice , tips , who makes the best rebuild kits , what upgrades can i do, any and all help would b hot ,,,, the familys work horse needs help . i thank you very much now give me your brains lol
  12. Hey guys, I have a 1995 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT with a two bolt design throttle body and was about to purchase a spectre cold air intake before realising that it was designed to fit a 1996 and up because it fits a single bolt design. I look on ebay and i cannot find the style (or something on the lines) of aftermarket intake that i am looking for that will also fit a two bolt design. Could i change throttle body design to a single bolt design on my 350? What COULD I do and what SHOULD I do? Thanks, James

None of these parts have any wear or damage, all was installed properly, mounting hardware for everything is in great shape. I will ship all of these parts via UPS except for the bedliner, since its too big! I am located in Minnesota - South West Metro. Everything is certainly available for pickup locally, haven't listed elsewhere yet. Any questions email me @ [email protected] I have an account with UPS so shipping is discounted slightly, send me your zip code and I can provide you an estimate within a few days since I have to get everything boxed up. paypal is the preferred method of payment to [email protected] Thanks!
  14. Hey guys new to the forum! Just purchased my 3rd GM vehicle! I previously had a 2007 5.3 Silverado LTZ, a 2005 Cadillac CTS-V, and now a 2011 Gmc Sierra Denali! My truck is 2wd and obviously has the 6.2 (L9H). I'm ready to do some upgrades and I'm not exactly sure the best route to go performance wise. Here's what I'm thinking. Would love to hear your guys input. I am no gear head but I'm learning so bare with me! Intake- Was thinking a Volant intake for the closed/insulated box that provides cooler air, but at the same time Wouldn't it provide less air compared to a non-enclosed filter box? Either way heard the Volant was the best route and saw some for 250-300$ on eBay. Exhaust- I want something that's going to be a little bit louder but really just looking for good power gains. Also I don't want to spend $1000+ on an exhaust. I've read that I can accomplish the same thing by going a cheaper route like cutting the resonator off or adding a Y pipe. Headers- love the sound and power gains you get from headers. Just not sure what size to go. Tune- I will be getting my truck tuned at Houston House of Power by Chucks Tuning, who does a really good job with gm motors. Ready.... Go! And thanks in advance! Glad to be apart of the forum!
  15. I've got another mod from my truck for sale. This K&N Cold Air Intake was installed on my truck for about 2000 miles. I purchased it new, so it's still in great shape. Not missing any parts. Asking $150 plus buyer pays shipping.
  16. Hey everyone! I've been wanting to throw on an LS6 Intake Manifold from a Corvette onto my 2002 5.3 Silverado. I was just wondering if there is anyone who has done this and if so what problems were faced. It sounds like the Vette manifold is slightly longer and there may be some issues with my current water pump. It sounds like an interesting project and a great learning experience. Again, if anyone has tried this, I would love to hear your stories and/or opinions. Thanks!
