  1. I have a 2015 Chevy Silverado with a 6.2L. About 2 months ago I had bent a rod on Cylinder 4. I replaced all the rods, cleaned all the rockers, new lifters (even AFM), new gaskets, plugs, and plug wires. After the truck ran fine for about a week, then threw code P0106, which is a MAP sensor code. And for the life of me I couldn't get the code to stop showing up. If the code is deleted the truck runs perfectly fine for about 30 miles, then it throws the code and has a bogged down, flooded feeling. I've checked everything I can think of and don't know where to go next. What I've checked: Wiring Harness and Ground Connections New MAP and cleaned MAF Air intake gaskets and filter Cleaned Throttle body Checked Fuel Rails Plugs, Wires Compression tests (all at spec or very close) No leaks in intake All fuses After I spent two weeks after work on this thing I decided to take to the shop, they tried a new computer, new sensors, and ran a cylinder leak down test. The truck still is not fixed but I brought it home today because they told me the only option was to send the heads in to be cleaned and new valves. Said the carbon build up was causing this issue but I'm confused as to how that would affect MAP sensor. Especially when compression tests are all right where they need to be. When I replaced the rods I even checked to make sure valves weren't stuck and didn't make contact with head of piston. Anything help and am open to all options. My next step is to take a look at injectors and to replace/clean the valves myself.
  2. Hi. I bought a new 2021 AT4 March 5. 20 miles on it. Drove home from the dealer (4 miles) and the next time I turned it on, CEL and OnStar diagnostics emails me to take it to the service department. They say they reset MAP sensor and send me on my way. Later that day, same thing happens. I take it back in, they say MAP sensory needs replacing. They had it almost 2 weeks waiting on the part. After they replaced it, everything went fine for about 1200 miles and then I get blinking CEL for about 30 seconds then it stops. Next day, blinking CEL for a minute or so, and then it turns solid. I took it back to the dealer and they say the only code pulled was P0300 misfire. They have no idea what’s causing it, and quite frankly I’m pretty fed up at this point. They’ve had my new truck longer than I have in the month I’ve owned it. Has anyone had something similar happen?
  3. Hey there! My 90' K1500 350 TBI has suddenly been acting up when you go to give it gas or put it under load as in going up a hill. It just loses a lot of power and sputters around. My first thought was fuel pump. It is idling fine. It has been having a slower or prolonged crank to start. It was running smooth until I took it for a new set of tires (go figure). I pulled the codes and got 32, 43, & 44. I unplugged the ERG line and saw no difference in performance. My next planned steps are to test the fuel pressure and maybe replace the MAP sensor. Any other tips tricks or other things I can try b4 I start ordering up replacement parts and praying?
  4. Is a very known topic that the Vortec spider injection system is prone to leak inside the intake and has problematic poppet valves I found exactly that being the problem of all my misfire codes and rough running issues replaced the spider injection with new current updated part which gives actual fuel injectors at the bottom of each tube my system now stores and holds pressure without hardly any leak down.. Now the real question I read everywhere that fuel pressure on vortex should be 6265 psi at Prime and full running condition or else vehicle will not start this is false! My vehicle now runs and starts at turn of key exactly the way it should and I am only producing 45 to 50 psi at prime and runninG..Fuel pump is one year old and the new fuel injection spider system is 3 days old so fuel pressure regulator is also knew as it comes part of the new injection system..When plugging off the vent back fuel line my pressure tags out the gauge so I know my fuel pump is capable of producing 90 psi or higher. So why am I only producing 45 - 50 psi in my normal operation?..I have absolutely no leak down pressure and holds solid and firm at 45 psi for a long time after the key is turned off I also have 12 volts or more at the pump and confirmed all good grounds..Any takers on this one?..The truck runs and starts very well but I can still feel a slight miss not a complete smooth rhythm so I feel it may be due to the low fuel pressure..What does map sensor have anything to do with fuel pressure regulation seeing how the fuel regulator is inside the intake manifold on the spider injection system using internal engine vacuum to operate and MAP sensor reads these values?
