  1. [2015 Chevrolet Silverado1500 LTZ 4WD Z71 Crew] With regard to the Chevy MyLink... Currently I am unable to get MyLink to follow voice commands with "My Media". This includes both my iPod and my Droid Maxx phone. I've tried connecting with both USB cord and via BlueTooth. Voice Commands seem to work fine with Phone and Radio commands, but I can't get MyLink to play any song, artist, album, etc. with My Media commands. It is as if MyLink cannot make the connection from what i'm saying to what is available to play even though my "music list has loaded". Both my iPod and my phone will play music just fine, I am just not able to utilize any of the voice commands. Anyone else had any similar problems? Any advice?
  2. So I purchased this Silverado back in 2014 and have had nothing but problems with the MyLink system. My biggest problem is that my phone (iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, and iPhone 7) all connect to it just fine 40% of the time. And the other 60% without changing setting it will suddenly connect but not recognize it as a phone, so I can not make calls or receive them unless I turn my phone onto handheld mode. I've tried talking to GM (obviously my warranty is expired at this point) but GM ran me in circles for a year and never helped me, and I can't seem to find any other info on it. I have a WT2 with the smaller IO4 Mylink and can't afford the $1,200.00 upgraded version. Has anyone else had a similar problem? Fixes tried before posting: turning off truck and restarting, turning off phone and restarting, resetting Bluetooth on both truck and phone, Forgetting and relearning devices on both truck and phone, bashing head on dashboard None seem to work and it appears to be completely random. It's been going on for the entire 3 years I've owned it and no one seems to know what to do. We even checked it on the scanner (Snap-On wireless).
  3. Hey everyone. New guy here needing some help. I searched around and couldn't find any posts about MyLink issues. Forgive me if a missed it (I searched, I swear). Does anyone else have problems with their MyLink freezing? It will totally lock up or the display will freeze up (not change as the song or station changes) and the temperature will be way off. How far off you ask? Well, I live in Arizona and the summer temp outside was about 122 but my display read 8. The other day when it was a nice 92 it read 2. Now, I'm no meteorologist but I'm guessing that's wrong. MOST of the time it works perfect. Just kind of annoying. Otherwise, these are awesome trucks. I've been a Jeep guy for a long time but with a kid on the way, a two door Jeep on 40" tires isn't conducive to hauling around a kid. Man, these things are SUPER quiet. Anyway, thank you in advance for any tips you may have for fixing my issue. The dealer says everything is good and says if it happens again to just turn off the truck and restart it. Besides that not helping at all, a truck with 8000 miles on it shouldn't do this. Also, before anyone says "get over it", I'm a Jeep guy...I'm used to serious disappointment from the factory.
  4. Hello, New to the forum, first post actually. I have a 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 crew cab standard bed gas engine I bought used with 11,000 miles on it from a dealer. A few weeks ago the radio started acting funny - when you changed stations it had a delayed reaction. Then it started getting weirder, like it would only work sometimes, or the sound would come on for 2-second intervals. The steering wheel controls would only work sometimes. Now, none of the controls work at all, it is stuck on an XM station, and stuck at a volume level. I cant turn it off or on, nor can I select another input (AM/FM, CD, USB, Bluetooth, etc.) The wheel control for volume comes on momentarily, but the blue bar doesn't have the blue in it. When it first starting getting weird I took it to another Chevy dealer who charged me $124 to do some software upgraded and said the radio "worked great". I took it in Tuesday morning, and they spent all day looking at it. hey said the called Chevy in Detroit, because they had no idea. So they "think" it is the HMI unit, and want to charge me $1,300 to replace it in the hopes that it is the culprit... Anyone else experience this? It seems crazy on a virtually brand new truck (I am of course JUST out of bumper-to-bumper warranty) And $1,300 to fix a radio?? My iPhone works better! Particularly the speech recognition. Spending $1300 to fix a radio on a virtually new truck is a painfully proposition.. One I'd prefer to avoid!
  5. I don't know how many 2016 trucks are out there, but I was curious if anyone else was having issues with choppy audio playback from Apple Carplay. If I have my iPhone plugged in via Lightning cable, the audio playback is extremely choppy, and it doesn't get any better with time. Also, the CarPlay apps will take several seconds to respond to any touch, which effectively renders the feature unusable. Has anyone else experienced similar issues? I know the feature is brand new with the MyLink system, but I'm surprised at just how buggy it is. It's not a huge bugaboo for me, as the Bluetooth works fine, so I figured if I get nothing here, I'll bring it up at my first oil change. -I have the 40/20/40 bench, and I am utilizing the USB port in the flipdown console -Pandora plays just fine when connected through the same Lightning cable in the same port -Have tried multiple Apple and other certified Lightning cables -Currently running iOS 9.2 on my iPhone 5s -Have cleaned my Lightning port on the phone to no avail -Have 2.2GB free memory on the phone -The music I am attempting to play is stored on the phone I have yet to try another phone, but if anyone has any other ideas or similar experiences, I would appreciate the input. Thank you.

  7. Hello all. I write this because I recently had my MyLink system stop working along with the speakers and light display on the steering wheel. This happens randomly one day. I was driving with the music on and the screen froze and the music stopped. When I reached my destination I turned the truck on and off and this time the screen worked no more. At night there is backlight illuminating the screen but the screen itself does not work. The only function it works in is the reverse camera. I was finally able to take it to the dealership and they are telling me the "resistors" (that's what they called them instead of diodes) is what caused the problem and now I am liable for the charges to get it fixed. Has anyone with this mod (low beam to fog lights) had any complications with their truck? Thank you very much for the responses. I own a 2014 Silverado LTZ
  8. Hi Everyone! I am new to this forum and a recent proud owner of my 2014 Silverado. I've been doing a ton of reading on this forum of people doing mods and upgrades, and 2 on the list is remote start and backup camera. I also have the I04 4.2in MyLink radio which aesthetically is kinda eh. Before I get started on the mods, I was curious if anyone knew if their were any big benefits to the larger 8in screen over the 4.2in? Minus the prospect of upgrading to navigation and the screen being larger of course. Since I have a baby on the way I'm trying to decide which mods are most cost effective for me. Thanks!
  9. So, I was looking at some Youtube videos and right on Chevy's site, and noticed that the MyLink system is supposed to have a few themes to choose from. The videos I was seeing were from 2014-2016 Silverados, however the trim level was not mentioned. I'm just curious why mine might not have the Theme option. If anyone has any ideas?
  10. Haven't seen this topic really covered in 1 place before. Been looking into getting a new phone and was wondering what everyone is using and if some seem to work better or have less issues than others. Not looking to start an Apple v Droid debate over this - looking for connectivity, usage, speed, etc. among different brands and phones. Side note - Currently have an iPhone 5 and been looking at getting the new Galaxy s7 in a couple weeks, not sure how well Marshmallow will work compared to iOs. - When charging thru USB iPhone is completely muted: if I get a call or text I don't know unless I feel it vibrate, and if I pull up anything with sound its still muted. Only plays sounds if you are in Media - USB mode. (Can I watch an instagram video or snapchat or hear a phone call while listening to XM??) - Using iPhone as GPS, the voice direction pops up on display like a call is being made every single time. + Seems to always link up to bluetooth quickly. + Accesses songs on iPhone immediately when plugging it in.
  11. Hoping someone has had the same issue and can help me fix it. I have an issue where even if I am listening to an FM station or XM radio it switches to my iPhone music anytime I unlock my phone to look at it. This is very annoying as I have to switch back every time only to have it switch back the next time I unlock my phone.
  12. Hopefully someone can help. I have several music files on an SD card that show up and play when I look at the card on my computer, but for some reason mylink doesn't see them. They're all in mp3 format, and as far as I can tell there is nothing different about the formatting of these files from the rest. Any advice?
  13. Hope someone can help me out. I have an SD card with about 10g of music on it. Most of the music plays fine, but there are some files that the mylink just doesn't see when I search for artist, song, or anything about them. The files on the SD card show up and play fine when I plug it into my computer and as far as I can tell there's nothing different about the formatting of the ones that don't show up. Any ideas?
  14. As I'm sure many of you folks are aware, they're adding a "projection" option to the 2016 Silverados and Sierras within Mylink/Intellilink. Do any of you know if it would be possible to add these features to a 2014-15 Silverado via a software flash, HMI swap (as some people already do to upgrade to nav), or other means? Any info or insight would be appreciated. I don't care much for factory navigation, but having Google Maps on my truck's display would be awesome.
  15. Hello. I have a 2015i Tahoe and I'm trying to determine the latest version/build of the HMI software. Mine is showing 14.1F013 with a build timestamp of 03/13/2014. The Tahoe was built in December 2014. We've had lots of iPhone/USB connectivity issues, and after doing some research I found bulletin PI1375C: http://tinyurl.com/mylink1401 This bulletin states after January 26th, 2015 vehicles should have 14.0F105. Looking at these version numbers, one would think 14.1F013 is newer than 14.0F105, however, the bulletin reads: Note: The last 3 numbers will increase as the software gets updated. Those are the numbers to check when verifying software version. The bulletin also displays a screenshot, showing 14.0F105 has a build timestamp is 09/24/2014. If you go to Bosch's OSS GM page, they seem to have the packages listed in order: GM Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Buick and Opel MY16 HMI Module (SW 15.1A025*) GM Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Buick and Opel MY15 HMI Module (SW 14.0F105*) GM Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Buick and Opel MY15 HMI Module (SW 14.1F013*) GM Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Buick and Opel MY14 HMI Module (SW 12.6N185*) And if you dig into the license PDFs: MY15_M6_FINAL-14.0F105.pdf is dated on October 1st, 2014 MY15_M5-14.1F013.pdf is dated on March 6th, 2014 I took the Tahoe into the dealer today, and they told me tis2web is showing the latest downloadable software as 14.1F013. I'm not trying to be difficult with them, but it's hard to believe considering the research and evidence from above. Are there any techs that can confirm this? Or does anyone have a Tahoe built after January 26th, 2015, that can check their version? (Power+Menu+Home) Thanks, Jason
  16. Okay, who else on here was confused as to what kind of navigation system your truck has installed, or avaiable. I was told I had a Navigation System. When really, I only have OnStar Navigation. Which in the typical description of a navigation system, it is not. Anybody feel like they didnt know what they were getting in their $50,000 truck?
  17. I was watching videos on my usb stick. From what i understand your only able to use 480p resolution videos, and they have terrible quality (very pixelated even on such a small screen). Is there anyway to improve the video resolution capabilities on the mylink screens, or watch higher resolution videos? This was in my 2015 Chevrolet Silverado LTZ Midnight Edition.
  18. Apple's CarPlay and Google's Android Auto is software that allows certain functions and apps from a driver's smartphone to be projected and controlled from a vehicle's in dash infotainment system. Both of Chevrolet's infotainment systems will work with CarPlay and Android Auto for 2016. The 7-inch system will work with both standards at the start of production while Chevrolet will offer owners of the 8-inch systems the ability to upgrade later in the year. The 8-inch system will only be compatible with CarPlay at the start of production and will gain Android Auto compatibility with the update. Unfortunately for current owners, 2015 and earlier system cannot be upgraded and will never work with CarPlay and Android Auto. That said, don't worry. We'd have to imagine that aftermarket upgrade options will be in hot demand for this new bit of tech. We also expect a similar announcement from GMC in the near future. 23. I'm pulling my hair out on this. I have a 2014 Silverado Crew with the Bose and the Bench Seat (no sub). Needing more bottom end I added a Kicker hideaway unit myself with the wonderful info shared here in the forums and got a mild boost in sound. This install was simple as I just use a few t-taps on the cables that had been identified as proper for the Bench seat bose trucks to the Front L/R out on the bose amp and fed it into my DQ-61 (overkill, but had it so why not). After a few months decided that I wanted to push the envelope further. I added in my JL12TW3's and a JL HD1200 amp to replace the kicker. FAR more kick - much happier. No problems at all. Another month goes by and I convince myself that its just sad to have ALL that amp sitting there for my subs and no real partner for the rest of the sound, sooooo I decided to take everything up several notches and purchase an HD600/4, Some Focal KR2's 2-way for the fronts, Focal Access for the rear fill and replaced the TW3's with a pair of 13TW5's. Since this job was going to be much bigger and more $$, I decided to let Car Toys handle it (professional install and 4 year warranty on all work and hardware). They do the install for me, tune in the DQ-61 and I get car back. Sounds great... until the next morning when I crank it first thing. The chimes were hugely amped all the sudden coming out the Front Left speaker and that particular speaker itself seemed to be 4 times louder than all the rest of the door speakers! If I muted the system, that speaker had a distinctly audible and irritating Hiss. After about 15 minutes of driving it stopped and went back to normal. This happened on and off for the duration of the 200 mile trip I had to take that day. I pulled over at one point and just looked at what could wiring wise to see if something had wiggled loose or what - Nothing, but I did find that when I 'tapped' the HD600, that the speaker would pop in and out of high 'boosted' volume as noted on the ride. A further look found that the Gain control for the amp wouldn't adjust the levels at all. Brought it back, was told they would swap out with replacement, but would need to wait. advised them I was going on an 800 mile family trip and could not be without sound, they installed a 'loaner' 900/5 for me and the whole trip was great, no problems! I returned back the following week and had them replace the 900/5 with the new 600/4. Drove off that night after they closed, went to bed, got up next morning SAME PROBLEM! Brought it back to show the techs, swapped preouts from the DQ side of things, outputs from the 600 and determined that the problem was isolated to the Front Left output channel - not seemingly speaker or LOC related. So they agree to replace it again but tell me that at this point, two HD600's had been 'bad' - which seems unlikely and that the DQ in the equation was not there original equipment, even though they had wired it in for the install so that it could be something with that unit. They told me I'd have to schedule a few days out to bring in, so I told them I had an MS8 for another vehicle I was going to swap in. I removed the wiring on the DQ side and found that it looks like they were summing 6 channels of input (3 pairs) and were no longer using the T-tap config I had originally done - to be honest I assume this might be because the Front left/right taps I had done may have only carried signal enough for the Subs that I had done and were prob missing some high freq they needed for the rest. So I used the wiring they had used and wired it to the MS8, tuned in and sounded phenomenal! GREAT sounding unit (off the topic, but had to be said). So I brought the unit back a couple days later and got my hand slapped (and in retrospect, rightly so I suppose) for changing out the DQ; they said they really wanted to run tests on the signal coming out of the DQ to determine if it was wigging out and killing the HD. I expressed my doubt of this given that it had never killed the Kicker, or the 1200 in my previous setup before they had worked on it, nor did the 900 die during the loan time - but I too had/have a hard time thinking that I had two bad new HD600's - those things are beasts! So, long story coming to close, tech and manager get together and basically strong arm me into agreeing to let them take out the MS8 and install an LC7i prior to replacing the amp again (3rd amp), that way its all their equipment installed and anything happening should be rightfully covered by them. A 3rd amp failure shouldn't be something to occur with that and if it was, they would not be able to blame my original parts or install job. So... I did... Just got truck back, drove home, sounded great - not quite as great as the MS8 made it obviously but clean and awesome none-the-less. So, now, I get up this morning turn car on and guess what.... The damn front right channel immediately starts up in its 4xnormal set volume for all music, chimes everything. 10 minutes down the road it stops and is back to normal. if it follows pattern this will most likely start getting more frequent later as I drive to our remote office for business (100 miles) and I expect to find again that the HD amp is fried. The question here is... WTF? What is going on? Can ANYONE offer insight? I'm out so much money on this that its ridiculous and now I find myself REALLY missing the stock bose setup with just my simple Sub added... The only thought I have is could there possibly some wiring funkiness from the bose to the LOC that they did when they are summing all the additional channels, are they all necessary for full signal feeds? If they wired it by the charts of what is in the Bose w/Sub 2014's vs the Bose w/o Sub 2014 would that cause this problem. Do I need to pull the plug on this and cut all the financial loss and ask them to wire everything back in to stock and replace the bose speakers back into the doors/dash? This has me sick - any thoughts and advise I can take back to them at this point to be armed with knowledge before I'm told its my problem or end up paying more money for further non working solution...
  24. Twice in two weeks, I have had issues with MyLink system. First, the radio and all sound stopped as I was driving my new 2015 Silverado. Today, when I started my truck, the radio played but the screen was black. In both cases, I had to cut off the engine, remove the key, lock and unlock the vehicle for it to reset the system. Anyone else having bugs like this??? My truck only has 1400 miles and is 2 months old.
  25. Hi, I've had my 2014 Silverado LTZ for a few days and all works great. From the first pairing of my Note 3 to Mylink at the dealership during the "training" session mylink sees 3 sets of phone numbers per contact. I have ONE set of numbers per person, no multiple contact lists under the normal contacts section. I only sync contacts via Google. If I choose to call Tom, Tom comes up with three of the same numbers on the display. I have deleted the Note 3 and repaired it. No good. I paired my wife's iphone and it works fine. Otherwise all is well. I have found nobody having this issue on Google. Anyone? The dealer is stumped and AT&T has confirmed I only have one number per contact. Very frustrating. Thanks in advance.
