So I am sure it’s on here somewhere I did try to Search with nothing to fine on it but I just want to know. I am use to the remote start for a Jeep and all you have to do do is just hit the start button and it auto locks the doors and starts but on my Chevy it seems like I have to hit the lock button twice then hit the start button for it to start with the fob remote. Is it just me doing something wrong or is that how the 18’s are

Good morning all! I have a question for you who have heated seats and even heated steering wheels. When I would use my remote start in my 2008 in the winter, it would automatically turn on my heated seats (as well as the heater/defrost). My 2016, I went into my settings on the computer and selected that option to turn on when using my remote. I have tried it several times, and for whatever reason the remote start will not turn on the seats or the steering wheel until I physically put the key in and turn in on...anyone else having this issue? any fix? I know there are plenty of comments waiting to say, "man up' and 'Who cares about heated seats' and things of that nature...to that I say, when its below 25 degrees...its cold...call me a sissy all you want, I paid for these things, I want them to work. Thanks for the help in advance.

Howd'y Everybody, So this is really the only issue that I've had with the truck since I got it. Anytime I use the remote start (GM Factory) and then turn the key to the on position BAM the airbag light is on and the DIC says "Service Airbag" or if I have the truck running and get out the light comes on with the same message. I am buying a BlueDriver Bluetooth scanner in the coming weeks, but if I shut the truck off and start the truck again sitting in the drivers seat the light will not come back on. I am aware that the driver's seat has the seat belt sensor but is there another sensor that I am missing nothing really came up on good or when I search the forum for AirBag. Even with the light on if a passenger gets in the truck, the system will register that someone is sitting in the passenger's seat. Just looking for some insight into some possible caused also once I get the Blue Driver I trigger the light and scan the system to obtain the code. If anyone has any idea why this is that would be great, also if it helps my truck has manual, no heat or memory seats. Thanks

I have a 2012 gmc Sierra all terrain. I ordered and installed o e m heated seat kit. Took to dealer to get it programmed. Dealership said it took the programming. They never could get the door switches to turn the heated seats on . The seats will come on when using the remote start though. Dealership had the truck for 3 weeks and finally gave up. Any idea as to what could be the problem?

Just purchased a 2011 Silverado LT crew cab knowing it had a few issues. I have a few questions: First post on this forum so thanks for any input. The truck did not come with the key fobs, only 1 key. 1) Can I purchase key fobs and program myself 2) How can I determine if the truck has remote start 3) The drivers side door auto lock switch is not working. The unlock works and both switches work on the passenger side. 4) door speaker on driver's side not working so wondering if this could be related to potential electrical issue that ties in with the door lock not working.

I have tried a few of the settings for "Turn on cooled seats on remote start", "turn on heated seats on remote start" and "auto fold mirrors" but none of them seem to be recognized and actually work. Is there something special you have to do to get the settings to go into effect or is this a dealer question?

My truck is a 2016 Silverado WT, which does not have it installed. I need some input on which one you guys think is the best for the money. Thanks for the help in advance!

Hey Guys, Quick question Can anyone recommend a good long range, two way, remote start? (truck does not have the AP8 code) I'm getting kind of old and would like to install one of the new "plug and play" types that I've been reading about I have one in my 96 Impala SS and it works through 3 cinderblock walls over 100 feet away, can't see the car from there so the two way confirmation is nice !! I bought it from Directed electronics back in the day (http://www.directed.com/) They are like the main company for a bunch of the best alarms and remote starts Thanks Joe

I had to pick my wife up at the hospital and they make you turn your 4 ways on in the pickup zone by the door. It's cold and I just pulled the truck from the parking garage. So I decieded to remote start it to warm it up while I was inside gettin my wife. No go it will not start even the onstar app reports and issue is keys in ignition. And wouldn't start. I've had remote start in most of my vehicles from GM. First time I ever tried this. I was surprised. Ha ha.

This past weekend I got in my truck after remote starting it and the dash display showed a message of: "Service Power Steering" and my power steering was completely out... Happened two more times when remote starting it. This only seems to happen when remote starting the truck and even if I shut it down and fire it back up with the key the power steering still won't work.. As you all know the 14's are all electric power steering so I figured there was some kind of wiring issue or something. Took it in, they ran a software update on the truck and sent me on my way.. This morning remote started the truck and there it was again, no power steering… I'm developing forearms of steel and a sizable headache over this. Anybody else have problems with this? I thought it could be tied to the cold weather, but I see some of you guys on here are up in Alberta where it's a hell of a lot colder than Michigan.

I own a 2004 Chevy Silverado 1500. 108,000 miles, have had a remote starter in it since it was new. Just recently a problem developed. The remote starter will activate, the truck starts but cuts off quickly, the vehicle does not continue to run. With this, I have noticed that the cruise control won't activate once I start driving. The left turn signal doesn't "blink" it stays on steady, but the right signal works fine. However, the turn signal and the cruise control will sometimes work normally. Any suggestions where to start after: The fuse is fine, and the brake light switch seems to work normally.

I just joined the site today and sure enough after i make a few post, i now have a problem with my truck. Truck has been great withno issues until i notied this problem recently. I have a 07 crew cab with the 5.3 4l60e transmission 4x4 with about 145k miles with factory remote start. I noticed recently when leaving work and I use remote start, many times the truck starts and runs for couple of seconds makes a clunking noise in the drive train and shuts off. It won't remote start again until I put the key in and take it out. Today it did it again so I thought to investigate why and i remote started when I was next to it. To my surprise it did it again, it made the noise but noticed the truck rocks back a bit. The clunking noise I think is the transmission engaging as it sounds the same as when I put it in reverse but quite a bit louder. Now the truck was parked on a slight incline so it was enough to roll the truck a bit uphill. When I started it with the key there was no noise and the truck didn't move. I tested it a few times and with remote start it always replicated the problem. The only time I notice it is at work and I park in the same place every time. I remote start every morning and it has never failed to start. I don't know if it makes the noise or if the truck rocks back any, but I am parked slightly up hill. I did it at the gas station on flat ground and it was fine. Anyone know what this might be? I am going to do some more investigating to see what variables causes it to replicate the problem.

I have a 2006 Silverado vin 1GCEK19V36Z172127 and I would like to know if it uses Passlock 1 or Passlock 2. I installed an aftermarket remote starter and at the point of hooking up and programming the Xpresskit PLJX bypass module. I just want to make sure I tap into the right wires coming from the ignition switch. I found small harness with a blue and black wire in an orange sleeve. I want to assume the blue wire is the one I want for the resistor value but we all know what happens when one assumes something.. Also it states to hook a wire to the ground in the passlock harness. Would that be the black that's in the orange sleeve with the blue wire? Or am I totally off base here. If you want to see the instructions I'm trying to follow you can download the manual here http://xpresskit.com/DocumentDownload.aspx?documentid=7073&productid=240&firmwareid=1424 I'm at the point where the remote start will crank it so I'm pretty sure that part is hooked up right. Any help will be appreciated.
