  1. "ENGINE POWER REDUCED, SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, SERVICE STABILITRAK" Has anyone ever came across this before? Let me start from the beginning. On 11/2932013, halfway on my drive from work to home, I noticed that my truck would "sputter" and the rpm would fluctuate when giving it some gas while going up a hill/incline (interstate). Once I was done with the hill/incline, everything would smooth out. Closer to home, once again, I would only notice the "sputter-like" reaction and rpm fluctuating slightly when giving it gas to climb a hill/incline. Made it home fine with no problems or warnings/lights. Upon embarking to work the next morning (11/30/2013), at approximately 5-6 miles from home, I went to give the truck some gas to get above 60 and all of a sudden all these warnings and dings starting going off. My engine warning light illuminated and my traction control light came on and I noticed some warnings scrolling through at the bottom saying: "ENGINE POWER REDUCED, SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, SERVICE STABILITRAK". it blew my mind! Meanwhile, I noticed my truck slowing down no matter how much gas I gave it. I was coming to a road intersection just ahead and preceded to turn around and pull over to investigate. I couldn't understand what was going on so since I was close to home, I just "limped" it back home and not getting over 40-45 mph. Got home and shut engine off and called my job. I went back out later before my ride got there to pick me up, and started my truck. It started fine and I didn't notice any "sputtering" like before, however the engine light is still illuminated. I can't do anything until this Wednesday anyway. Is there someone that has come across this before? The day it happened I Google'd to my heart's content and found that I am not alone, however I did notice that there can be a number of things that could cause this. Would any of this be covered under a warranty? How would I know if I still have warranty on my truck? I need some expert advice on this. Here is my truck info to the best of my knowledge: 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT Taupe Gray 5.3 L V8 Crew Cab Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks, R. Ashley
  2. When I start my 2011 Sierra I get a service stabilitrak/service traction control message on the DIC and the orange traction light in on. It happens as soon as the truck starts and before the truck moves or steering wheel moves. It throws a code U0124-00 lost communication with yaw sensor. In addition my abs is also no working but no abs light is on. Does anyone know where the yaw sensor is located and any help troubleshooting the code would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
  3. HISTORY: This past weekend I went down to the family farm to cut firewood. 20K miles on a 2016 Silverado LT 5.3 6 speed, all stock, used 4H on snow and ice, and 4L on 1/4 mile dirt driveway that was a complete sheet of ice. I had to use 4L and kept the transmission in M1 and M2 and let the idle drive the truck because the lane was literally a solid sheet of smooth ice. I did not get above 10 miles an hour in 4H or 4L. An Equinox, Camry, F150 and an Avalon all had trouble getting up/down the lane. The Silverado in 4H and 4L performed impressively well on a driveway that could double as a figure skating rink. All of my transmission shifts were done from a complete stop, shifts from 4H to 4L and back were done in N. No issues. Yesterday I left the farm and about 3 -4 miles into the 80 mile drive home, I caught a glimpse of the yellow Stabilitrak light quickly flash on and off. At first, I thought it was my mind playing tricks on me. A few miles later, it flashed again. It happened several times with no messages displayed on the DIC. The more I drove the more it happened then the "Service Stabilitrak" message began to show. The longer I own this truck, the more problems I see.....drivers seat base- replaced 2x, transmission clunks and harsh downshifts, exhaust flapper valve replaced, MyLink freeze ups/bluetooth connectivity issues, radio reception poor, dash rattle (dealer cannot replicate), G80 clunks and clanks when the wheels spin on snow/grass (dealer says its normal VIDEO HERE ), hesitation under acceleration...and now this.... Here is a video of what I am seeing: SERVICE STABILITRAK MESSAGE VIDEO Anyone else have this issue? Is this something I'm going to have to deal with every time I use 4 wheel drive, then have to pay the dealer to clear/reset the error message? I'm under warranty....wondering if I can buy an extension to my bumper to bumper warranty...at this rate I'm going to need it if I decide to keep this truck. As much as I hate the Furd brand, the F150s seem to be pretty good.
  4. Over the last week or so, my "service stabilitrak" turned on along with the red "brake" light on the dash. Sometimes when turning left at low speeds (a little faster than idle), the front driver side caliper would catch the rotor. Something wasn't right. I deemed this as a major safety concern, as I don't want a caliper locking up a tire while I'm driving down the road. I took it to the dealership to have it checked out. 31k miles, most parts are still under the warranty. The dealership service says that the lights are turning on and disabling my stabilitrak due to my rear O2 sensor delete (tuned). This is bullshit, and why I'm not a fan of dealerships. He then tells me there is a code in history that shows the front left wheel speed sensor had an issue, but it was in history and not a concern. To me, this was a concern. I change the wheel speed censor out, $30 and 30 minutes of my time. Pull the negative cable to reset things. Replace cable. Drive a little. Light returns. Change the front brake pads. Thinking maybe they are worn and allowing the piston of the caliper to get stuck. Pull the negative cable. Replace cable. Drive a little. Light returns. Now I'm pissed. In the end, it was the steering wheel position censor. The connection was fretting (losing contact between contacts. I removed the harness. Sprayed it with contact cleaner from an electronics store. Put it back together. All problems resolved. I also went ahead and did the connector for the brake pedal sensor while I was under the dash.
  5. while driving on the interstate, I stopped at a rest area and my dash display notified me that Traction was off. Then, it showed Stabilitrak was off. I then got the "Service traction" and "Service Stabilitrak" messages. No performance or other symptoms were noted. I called the dealership from the road, and the service writer suggested shut off the truck and see if it resets. it did, but the Traction stays off. In around town driving, then traction was off, but no more service messages. Then, on the way home, after a few hours of driving (dry conditions), the same scenario repeated. Tire pressure was 35 LF, 36 RF, 36 LR and 36 RR (this is hot pressure). No loss of MPG, or power, handling seemed fine. Any ideas what could be the issue? The truck has 53900 miles. I should also add that when I press the dash button for stabilitrak/traction, and no service messages are being displayed, stabilitrak is "on, and traction is "off". I can set traction back on, but it returns to "off" as soon as the display refreshes. I have tried turning both off and back on again, with no results. 1/6 addendum - I have noted that it consistently happens when I make a 90 degree left turn in a parking lot, going in my driveway, etc. but not just changing lanes to the left, or following a left curve. it seems to be only a full left turn, but happens at low speed. It was happening occasionally, but now consistently. Thanks, Sam
