GM will be repurchasing my 2018 and I will be going into a 2019. I had done a massive system upgrade on my 2014 and was hoping to transfer that into my 2018 before it was plagued with issues. Now, I am looking to go into a 2019 and will be changing out the sound system as well so I was wondering if anyone had already started this. I did a write-up on the 2014-2018 non-bose systems and I have no issue doing another DIY write-up and tear down of the truck but it is a lot of work when there is no information available and I have to resolve everything on my own. From what I can see, still offering two systems: standard 6 speaker and the BOSE system. With that said, I cannot imagine too big of a difference in the wiring schematics but I could be wrong. Understanding how panels and clips are held in are also another obstacle. Any help will be greatly appreciated and I will start tearing it down as soon as I have most of the information I need. -
I have a 2013 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT that I just bought and I am looking to hookup an after market subwoofer and amp but I like the stock dash look so I don't want to replace the stock radio (which would make this process a lot easier). Would I just replace the stock sub and amp and splice into the current wires? Could I keep the stock sub and amp also while connecting new sub and amp? Does the stock radio have RCA connectors in the back that I can connect too? In a perfect world I would be able to add a new sub and amp without replacing the stock sub and amp and still have a high quality sound system without using RCA plugs since I do not think they come on the back of the stock radio.

So, I've noticed this issue ever since I got my truck and for a while there I thought I was crazy. For details sake, I own a 2014 GMC Sierra SLE, so non-Bose. The problem appears when listening to music. The best example I can think of is when listening to Bohemian Rhapsody some parts of the chorus are not properly emitted through the speakers. The most glaring of them is in the intro chorus; When it hits the underlined part there are no lyrics emitted through the speakers, only the instrumentals are emitted. This happens several times through the song again towards the last segment. It also happens on various other tracks ranging from several different genres. This is just the most obvious one. For reference all of this music is downloaded straight from iTunes, so its the non-DRM high-bit rate versions. This issue only happens through my truck speakers and not while listening through headphones or other devices. Music is being played back through the bluetooth but also happens via aux cable. Sound settings are set to factory with the sound stage set via dead center of the truck. Does anyone else experience this? I can take a video and upload it to youtube but I'm sure it will be flagged due to the music.
