John Goreham Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com 5/20/2016 General Motors’ William Rodgers, technical fellow at GM, recently gave Autoblog the impression that carbon-fiber wheels are on their way to GM's performance vehicles. The new wheels are now available on top Mustangs and via the aftermarket. Carbon-fiber wheels are not ideal for road use, but on the track they can drop unsprung weight in cars that are already weight optimized. One possible supplier to GM could be Carbon Revolution. Prices are not in the discussion, but like carbon-ceramic brakes, expect the cost to be quite high.

I just bought a 2001 Silverado 1500 extended cab LT that has a 1.5" body lift and 3" suspension lift. I want to put some nice, aggressive looking 33" all terrain tires on it and wanted to know what size to get. The tires that are on it now are 29" 245/75/r16 and they look stupid. I definitely want bigger and wider without changing the rims. Thoughts? What do you recommend? Thanks

I'm selling a 4 wheel set of 20" wheels off my 2009 Sierra. I'm one of the lucky folks that has had the chrome covers fall off the cladding. Not on one but two wheels. As you know, GM will not let you buy the chrome cap only. They force you to purchas an entirely new rim. I just decided to buy new wheels and tires, So, I have the old ones left. I will sell them as individual wheels or as the set. You can see in the picture that all four wheels do not match each other. I'm selling the set of four for $300. Walton Ky (Greater Cincinnati Ohio ) The Michelin tires still have some tread left on them.

I am selling a BRAND NEW set of 10 ply LT rated 285/60/20 Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires and 20" 9" width 20x9 Fuel Hostages black +20 mm offset Hostage wheels. The bolt pattern is 6x139.7 or 6 on 5.5. These tires and wheels were installed on my 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab 4WD with just a Zone 2" leveling kit and they did not fit well, they rubbed slightly, so I am selling them since I can't return it. Both the tires and the wheels have only seen about 8 miles, 4 miles to go from Discount Tire to my house and from my house back to Discount Tire. I paid $2600 for this set up, I'd like to get $2400. I have all of the original paperwork to transfer to you for warranty, lifetime tire rotations and balancing, etc. Lug nuts and center caps are included. I am located in Cary, NC zip code 27519. Hello all i am new here and i live in San Diego, CA. I drive a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado LT. I currently have a set of 22" Boss Motorsports 313 in Black with chrome lip. Wrapped in General Grabber UHP 305/40R22 with about 90% tread left. I bought this set about 8 months ago and they have maybe 5000 miles on them. I am active duty military and ive been gone most of the time so they are relatively new. My wife and i are about to have our second child in 2 weeks or so and i am in need of some extra money for baby furniture, diapers etc....So what im proposing is i would like to trade my set for (ideally) some stock LTZ Wheels but im open to anything and $1200 cash on top. I payed $2400 8 months ago and i feel that this would be a fair deal for both parties. I am open to offers so just message me or email me at [email protected]. Also this is for a Local deal only. I will not ship. So if you are within the area of San Diego, CA or surrounding areas let me know. ill attach some pictures. Thank you for your time.

Hi all, I really want to put some factory 20's or 22's on my 2014 Silverado 1500, but when I go to the dealers website I can't believe how much they cost! I'm talking about they want me to spend $5000 for rims and tires and all the good stuff like TPMS sensors, lugs, etc. Sooooooooooo I went on ebay and saw that they have factory wheels on there "take offs", which is fine with me, but when I asked a friend about it, he said "beware of the knock offs". I don't want knock offs, that's for sure. How can I tell if someone who claims to be selling OEM wheels isn't just trying to get over on me? How can I tell if the wheels are truly OEM/Factory and not just a knock off? Are there any identifying markings? One of my friends told me they are stamped. Is that the best way to tell if they're legit? How do I cross reference this to be sure I'm not getting hood-winked?! LOL

Hi, I am a new owner of a 2009 GMC 2500 SLE. I love the truck, but hate the contast of the big truck with the small wheels. Looks like a body build who doesn't do legs. I am looking to upgrading to larger tires, possibly wheels. I want something to beef up the tires of my truck with a small budget. Any help out there would be great! Thanks, yall.

Ok so I have decided to add a lift kit to my truck, I have a 2105 Silverado and Im going with either a 6in or 7.5in lift (rough country brand) and I'm going to run 35in Toyo Open Country M/T, with some 20in rockstar rims.... I have all of that figured out. I am also thinking about having a slight negative offset on the tires/wheels. I would like some opinions or ideas with some stuff I may have not taken in mind. I am open to all opinions and thoughts, any type of feedback would/will be great.

I'm debating which setup I want to go with, and was helping that some of the guys who have a good understanding of offset, tire sizes, etc can help me out. I read all 117 pages of the wheel/tire thread, but it made my head hurt trying to figure out what I need. My truck is a 2014 Silverado LTZ Z71 Crew Cab with the Standard (6'6") bed sitting on factory 22's (SEY CK156). I will be installing the Rough Country 2.5" leveling kit when I upgrade the wheels/tires. I'm set on getting the XD Rockstar II (XD811) wheels in 20x9: I'll probably get a set of the Toyo Open Country M/T's. Other sets I'm considering are the Nitto Terra Grapplers, and Cooper SST. Here's where I really need some help: #1) I'm debating getting the Bushwacker fender flares. If I do, I'd like an offset that helps push the wheel out and make it "flush" with the flares. The XD811's come in a -12 offset which I was thinking would be perfect (based on what I've seen). My question with this setup is: what's the biggest and beefiest tire I can throw on these 20x9's get that won't rub? #2) If I don't get the flares, then I was thinking I'd go with the +18 offset. It'd be almost flush, correct? Perhaps sticking out just a bit? And again... biggest/beefiest set of tires that won't rub. In advance, thank you!

This is the first photo I took of the truck as soon as I brought it home. -
Located in North East Ohio.. would possibly meet buyer to save some driving if distance is an issue (within reason, we can discuss) May consider shipping at buyers expense. I do not know exact cost but assuming it would be $200-$250 ish. I would possibly sell the wheels and tires separately as well... These were removed from my 2015 Chevy 1500 with only 1,000 miles on it, so these are practically brand new in perfect condition. The TPMS was removed, the tire was not fully unmounted, should still be balanced. The tires are goodyear wrangler SR-A 275/55R20 $1400 call/text 440 840 5238

alright guys I'm finally ready for some new wheels and tires on my 2014 crew cab. Im having a really hard time deciding what i want so i figured id look here. Im keeping my truck on the 2.5 leveling kit and ill be going with the 33/12.50/20 atturo trail blades. Really leaning toward a 20x12 thinking chrome but black is also an option. Please post pictures here of your trucks or any ideas you have. Thanks

15 Silverado takeoff wheels and tires. They have about 300 miles on them, couple rocks in the tires that's it. Tires are Goodyear wrangler SRA 265/65/18 They have center caps and lug nuts but I did remove the tire pressure monitors and installed them in my new wheels. I am a tech at a gm dealership in town so if you do need tire pressure monitors installed I can do that and we can figure out a price or work something out. Would really prefer local pickup as I have no idea how much these would cost to ship. Located in Grand Forks, ND. Asking $1000 (make an offer, worst thing I can do is say no) You can message me or call/text mitch at 7012135556 Thank you for looking
