  1. Just installed a new fuel pump in my 2007 5.3L Cuad Cab Sierra SLE Z71 Gas Only New Body Style VIN M, the pressure starts off at 70 psi for a few seconds then drops to 60-65 psi and stays there for a few moments then abruptly drops to 50 psi and spikes right after back up to 70 psi where is stays for a few seconds then drops to 60-65psi where it stays for a few moments then does the drop to 50 and spikes to 70. It keeps doing this cycle over and over. Does anyone have any ideas on the culprit. BTW, having the fuel pump replaced under warranty just in case its defective.
  2. Hello, I’m new to this forum so I’m not sure if this question has ever been posted? I have been looking all over the internet but just can’t seem to find an answer? I have a 2018 Silverado 1500 Custom And I was wondering if it’s possible to swap my grille to a Z71 grille? I’m not sure if the Z71 grille is a different shape then my front end? I’m not a big fan of the black honeycomb look being that I’m going for a more sleek all white look. (Need to paint doors and mirror caps) If I can’t swap grills does anyone know where I can buy the grille insterts from a z71 grille? first 2 pictures are of my truck and second is a picture of the Z71 grille I want.
  3. Looking for opinions on spray in bedliner's Rhino line VS vortex liners The rhinoline will cost me about 525 vortex around 600. What's the differences? What's better or worse? Thanks for opinions
  4. So I have been looking around for a level kit I think I want to go with a 2inch level on the front. But I'm not too sure on what one to get? I have seen the rough country one for a reasonable price. I was also looking at motofab. Is there any others that I should consider? Also with a level kit void a factory warranty? Post some photos of your level lift! Or give me some input on things to be aware about.
  5. I have a front and rear set of OEM floor mats Came out of my 2017 chevy silverado 1500. Have been in the truck for just under 10,000 miles. I can get photos at requests
  6. Just wanted to share my thoughts after owning my '18 Silverado Z71 for a little over 3 months now: 1. I love this truck. Compared to my old '04 Dodge 1500 this thing rides like a Cadillac. I honestly never thought a truck could ride this good. I know some people complain about the stock rancho shocks and z71 suspension but to me it seems to ride exceptionally well. One thing I have noticed though is quite a bit of body roll in corners, more so than in my old dodge, but that could be because of the light tires that come stock? 2. I'm impressed with how capable this truck is offroad. Now I know most people will say that the airdam is too low, not enough ground clearance, etc. but honestly for the vast majority of people I think this truck has all you need. It's gotten me to my campsites, taken me to some great hiking trails, and allowed me to scout my hunting areas for this fall. All the things that I thought it couldn't do stock since my old truck had 33's and a leveling kit. Of course, It's not going to take on any hardcore offroad trails in Moab but that's not the reason I bought the truck and even then I'm sure someone could mod it enough to take on any trail out there. 3. The technology in these new trucks is great! I know a lot of people talk about the AFM system being annoying or intrusive but honestly I never even feel it! It's crazy that all of these new advancements allow me to get an average of 17.5mpg which is incredible compared to my old truck's 11mpg average. Apple CarPlay and bluetooth have also been great to have so far! It's nice being able to make phone calls hands-free, play a song using my steering wheel controls, and send texts by voice. Overall I am just impressed with this generation of Silverado trucks. I have owned 2 chevy trucks before, a 1984 C10 and a 93 s10 and dang it feels good to be behind a bowtie again. Just wanted to share my love of Chevrolet and my truck with you guys and I hope y'all are out there enjoying your trucks as much as I am! I'd love to hear your experiences and thoughts as owners!
  7. Some of you might have seen my post asking for input before I bought my truck... Well, I bought it and I just made a short video to show you... Check it out and let me know what all info I fumbled, haha! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gY-cL1HkTtc
  8. Stock aluminum upper control arms and rancho coil over shocks off of my 2015 z71 sierra. Make me an offer. Would like to sell together but will sell shocks and arms separately. They have 25,000 miles on them.
  9. Just wondering if theres much rubbing with 33s that are 11.5 wide.
  10. Looking at buying a Silverado next week. Went to the dealership and test drive a Z71 crew cab. Compared to my current vehicle, it drove very smooth. Do the rancho shocks make much of a difference in ride quality? Thanks!
  11. I have a 2016 3500 HD LTZ Z71 4x4 Regular Bed that I will use to pull a 15,000 lb fifth wheel trailer. It was bought used, I didn’t chose the Z71 package. I’m looking for recomendations to upgrade the suspension. The Rancho shocks are pretty stiff making for a hard ride when running empty. I’m kind of new to the “truck thing”, so any help is appreciated. My two thoughts are to go to different shocks, maybe the Bilstein B6 4600’s, or some other recommendation. I’m also considering adding Air Bags. The truck has the TorkLift StableLoad upgrade already. Thanks for any suggestions, David R
  12. On my 2017 Z71 1500 I noticed the color matching headlight cover was coming off. Any recommendations on how to fix?
  13. Curious what the average and best gas mileage you've gotten in your 2015-2018 silverado or sierrra 1500 crew cab is? Mine so far is pictured. It is a 2018 Sierra SLT Z71 4WD Crew with the the 5.2 liter V8 8-speed.
  14. I'm just wondering if theres much rubbing on 33s with a 2.25 level kit and offset rims
  15. Hey everyone, I just got my 2014 Silverado with the z85 option not too long ago and while browsing the local CL I came across a set of brand new take off front struts from a 2017 Silverado 1500 Z71. Would these be an upgrade to the stock z85 struts? Would it level out the truck at all? Would there be any modification or swapping of other front end parts required? Thanks for the help, I tried searching but couldn't find a thread that touched upon this.
  16. Anyone got any pictures or suggestions on what to put on my truck. I'm in between a 6.5" lift and 35s or 4" lift and 33s
  17. I just bought my first newish truck, being the 2014 Silverado 2wd z71 lt. It’s got the crew cab with 5.3l under the hood. I’m currently stationed at ft Stewart ga. Im just looking for some help or some advice on some upgrades I’d like to do to this truck and which products might be the best. - I’d like to change the headlights and fog lights from stock. - Put a leveling kit and some new (bigger) a/t tires on it and not sure what size being 2wd. - Change to an aftermarket air intake. - Do something about the shitty stock speakers (without Bose). Wether it be new door speakers and sub(s). Or be just subs and have a separate amp just for door speakers. Do I need a processor to hook up to stock 8” head unit. - How do I add any app or navigation to this stock 8” head unit - Exhaust? - How to get more performance from the truck. Anything would help, Thanks
  18. Here's the part number for the metal clips that hold the L shaped interior trim on the door. They need replaced if you end up removing the door panel more than a couple times. The clips are NOT listed on the door parts diagram. $15 for QTY25 on ebay. GM PART: 15748479
  19. I have a 2017 Silverado 1500 LT Z71. On the factory grill, there are three gloss black "grill bars" that appear to be separate pieces from the flat black grill inserts. On the 2017 LTZ Z71, these three bars are chrome plated. I think that is a nice way to add just enough chrome to the grill to really make it pop, so to speak. Since I have not had the gril off of the truck, I am not sure how the gloss black grill bars are fastened on. Is there a way to remove them and replace them with the chrome versions? And if so, how would I obtain the chrome replacements without buying a complete LTZ Z71 grill from GM? Just for reference, here is a picture of my grill: And here is a picture of a LTZ Z71 grill. This is the look I am trying to achieve: I would really appreciate any input. Thanks
  20. Hello, I looked 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 that I was interested in purchasing with the 5.3L V8 has 174,000 miles. Truck runs rough at idle, rpms are fluctuating. Check engine light is on with codes P0300 and P0301. Can’t troubleshoot the problem. Coils, spark plugs, spark plug wires, new O2 sensors, new catalytic converters. Guy says that rockers all move so it isn’t Active Fuel Management lifters and he says 150 psi of compression across all 8 cylinders. Truck was at dealership, dealership says problem with cylinder numbers 1 and 8 the P0301 explains problem with cylinder 1 but why isn’t code P0308 being thrown? What else could be the problem?
  21. Hello all, I consider myself a supernewb as this is my first GM product in over 25 years. Just traded in my trusty 2nd gen 4x4 Dodge Cummins for a new to me CPO 2016 Silverado 5.3l z71 LTZ w/ Plus package. I can't believe I left the Ram camp, but this truck really impressed me on the test drives... Anyway, I hope to learn as much about these vehicles as possible via the forums and looking forward to discussions to be had. And now for the obligatory here are my planned mods list. and in no particular order lose the rake. size up on tires, perhaps move to a black OEM wheel to lessen the chrome affect. roller locking bed cover amp power steps to replace the factory steps and perhaps as decent subwoofer. attached some pics.. "out with the old, in with the new."
