97 K1500 5.7 Vortec Ruff Idle after replacing Spider.... So this all started when the intake manifold started leaking like most do after a while. So i replaced the gasket, as well as the Spider, plugs and wires, all four O2 sensor's, the distributor, rotor and cap. oh and all the seals on the Plenum. I have checked the vac lines and the spider seal. So here is whats going on. The truck starts but has a ruff idle like a miss firing. When i drive it, I get to about 40MPH and it starts really jumping and chugging. It misses really bad. When i get back down to about 30MPH it runs ok but ruff like a miss. I pull the Mass Flow connector off and no change. ???.... can the distributor be off one tooth and cause this. Or am i looking for something else...?? Thank You all for helping an old guy here... Of course my first post would be a trouble shooting question right. So ive got a 97 5.7 vortec, new starter, alternator, fuel pump and filter. a while back i started having issues getting my truck to start if the engine was warm and i had turned it off. usually quick trips to the store were ok but as soon as my engine gets to temperature it wont start. ideas of where to start looking. -
hello everyone I have a 97 GMC Sierra with a 305 and electronic shift trans it has a lot of issues that I'm trying to sort out first of all on cold start it idles super low (200- 400 rpms) for a few seconds and then picks up and shudders and shakes for a minuet then goes to normal idle once it warms up it stars to drop to low rpms (any where between 100 to 400) and dies out when I rev it it revs super slow and hesitates when I go to drive it it falls on its face on take off it kinda cuts out at first but slowly and I mean slowly picks up speed all the while it back fires and slightly lunges now once I get moving the trans doesnt want to shift until I let off the gas no matter the throttle position and the speedometer jumps around like crazy and never shows my correct speed the brake and ABS light are on sometimes they go off but normally on look at the videos to see how bad it is any help would be great so far I have replaced the plugs and wires cleaned the cap replaced the button and the TPS cleaned the MAF sensor and cleaned the trans speed sensor videos: -
My headlights are out of wack.. I have people flashing me when i just have my normal lights and not high beams on.. help! If someone could refer me to a video or something that would be great to!! -
hi, i have a 97 chevy c1500 4.3 vortex v6 that was given to me. It had sat for about a year and a half before i picked it up. When i received it i put a new fuel pump and filter cleaned out the gas tank. It ran fine for 2 or 3 days and i drove 45 miles and it run fine. one day i drove it about 20 miles and it stalled, immediately when it started it would go then cut out again you couldn't go 50 ft without it losing power. The next day i changed the tps then cleaned the aic helped slightly but not much. Well come to find out my catalytic converter was blowing out honeycomb so we replaced it with a muffler since the real muffler had been cut (and no not directly under the truck we piped it out then put the muffler under the bed). It will idle but still wont run correctly i have heard there might be 2 fuel filters i will check that tomorrow. i will also ohm the 02 sensors to make sure the are working properly but they appear to be fine. Can anyone help me?
