I have a 2000 gmc 1500 with the 5.3. I ordered a egr block-off plate, and exhaust manifold and intake manifold plugs from route 66 mods. I've heard of people deleting the egr value of gasoline engines. I'm not doing long tube headers, its my truck that drive every day and pull a trailer with and I'm gonna get big wheels and put a SS badge on it that just looks stupid. I looked on the other forums about deleting the egr on the 5.3 and all there is a bunch of guys arguing about what to do that haven't even done it them selves. I don't know if I'll have to have it re-tuned or just clear the code? I hope someone on this forum has done it and knows what to do.

I am looking to buy a 99 sierra vortecmax 4x4, buuuut the guy I'm buying it from has disconnected the front axle and LOWERED the truck. I can get the truck for a pretty good deal, although I am interested in lifting it back up and using the 4wd. Does anyone for see this being a huge pain or a risk worth taking? and a little info on what i may be getting into would be great... thanks in advance! -
I have a 99 Silverado with over 200,000 miles. for about 75,000 miles the truck has vibrated like the tires out of balance. I have had the tires balanced every month and the problem is still there. It starts about 35-40 mph and the faster I go the worst it is. I live in the desert so it cant be snow or anything like that. I do have oversize tires on it and a 4" suspension lift on it also, but it is a 2 X4. My tires are not wearing even but I took the truck to the dealer for an alignment. I have no idea what is can be.
