  1. Has anyone tried this yet? I set up an appointment Friday to have the firmware in my stereo updated and will be ordering the 2.5 HMI module tonight to see if this actually works.
  2. On the 13.4in Infotainment screens has anyone heard or know of a way to get Apple CarPlay or Android Auto to take up the whole screen? Since GM is dictating what can and can't be full screen. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay can easily scale up so it's not a limitation on the phone software. You can download Apple and Google developer simulators that scale them up to ridiculous resolutions and aspect ratios. So clearly it's GM forcing the phone projection to only the middle screen, but they let the built-in Google Maps take up the whole screen. Since the trucks are using Android you can enable the built-in developer options, but none of the settings it unlocks do much. Even the usb debugging option doesn't connect to a computer unless there's a specific HMI usb port for it.
  3. Has anyone recently had issues with AndroidAuto not connected to their phone? I've tried three different USB cables (all which charge the phone), reinstalled AA and removed all Bluetooth connections and reconnected the phone. I suspect AA recently updated and now we are waiting on GM to update the infotainment system. When I touch AA on the screen it says, please connect a phone with AA app installed. 2019 Silverado RST with 8 inch infotainment, connecting a Samsung S8 with AA version 4.4.592344. Yes, it had been working before, and one of the cables I tried was the one it previously functioned on.
  4. New to GM lineup... Coming from another brand (Ford with Sync) I was used to receiving semi-regular updates for the software... Does GM put out updates for Intellink? If they do is this something that only dealers can update? I looked on the GM owners sight and couldn't find any info. Thanks
  5. Hi all, Had my 2020 LT, 5.3L, Conv package I and II (TX i.e All-star edition) for for 1 week tomorrow and I've noticed quite the oddity when using aa with turn by turn directions from G. maps. The voice reciting the directions will change from Female to Male. Sometimes even between the same sentence, i.e Male says in 2 miles, and Female says, turn right. I swear, I'm not yanking ur chains. I've seen a post about it on Google forums and Reddit and have tried the troubleshooting listed to no avail. Anyone else seen something like this?

  7. I purchased my truck in February of 2016, and used Apple CarPlay from day one, and never had an issue. Fast forward two years to an Android phone. I plug in, expecting the same easy set up as my work truck (2018 Silverado), and nothing happens. I was confused, as I remember when I bought the truck it was advertised as supporting Apple Carplay/Android Auto. After checking through several forums and MyLink version numbers, I realized it needed an update. Called the dealer and set an appointment, but when I arrived, I was told this was a "customer pay" update, (if I remember correctly, as of April 2017?) and it would cost me ≈$50 to regain the functionality I purchased with the truck. Anyone else have this issue, and if so, what was the result?
  8. Android auto has stopped coming up in the console display on my 2016 Silverado. The app comes up on my phone when I connect to the USB port but will not display on the console, the phone does charge though. Google search says replace the cable for the phone, that didnt work. Took it to the Dealer and they have no idea either. Any help would be much appreciated!
  9. Hey, love this site, new owner of a TrailBoss custom and wish I would have gotten the LT with more little bells and whistles, but I was too cheap! Now I'm trying to manipulate as many functions and additional features as possible. I'm replacing the center console thanks to this site, now I'm trying to get text messaging from my limited infotainment. Any ideas? I'm anxiously hoping for many!! Thanks guys?
  10. Yes, you did indeed read that correctly. You can now have all of the proper steering wheel controls inside of Car Play / Android Auto without having to physically upgrade your cluster. This service will still require you to ship your cluster in (and of course we will turn them as fast as humanly possible) or you may choose to source a used one as these are plentiful and honestly pretty cheap! Just make sure you get with us prior to purchasing a used unit to make sure everything matches as it should as there are many different types and combos such as red/blueish green lighting, Z71, All Terrain etc https://www.whiteautoandmedia.com/product/udd-color-cluster-upgrade/ Big thanks for the push from our dealer network and fantastic customers like you guys!
  11. Alright... let me take a deep breath... I just bought a 2019 Chevy Silverado Custom Trail Boss. I am having an issue with my 2019 Chevy MyLink infotainment system and its integration with my Note 9 since the Android Pie update. The issue: When I receive a phone call through Bluetooth OR Android auto, I am able to answer the phone call but... The ringer will NOT stop ringing on my infotainment system. The only way I can talk to the person on the other line is by picking up my phone and disabling it from the infotainment system (this did not happen at all on the previous software version and it was glorious). The ringer will also never turn off even after the phone call is ended. The only way I can turn the ringer off while driving is by turning it down (cannot switch back to radio to continue listening to music, which is very aggravating), so I am sitting in silence for the remainder of my trip... unless... I pull over on the side of the road, shut my vehicle down for 2 minutes to let the computer reset and start it back up. This issue does not occur on my work iPhone either... I thought that it might be an issue that chevy's infotainment support team could solve... It seems that it is not their issue because it only happens to android Pie software version phones and not any others. I call Samsung... do everything you could think of to troubleshoot this issue (finally factory reset my phone completely only to NOT resolve the issue). Samsung seems to believe that I need to send my phone in for a repair (even though it wasn't happening with the previous software version). Chevy thinks I need to just wait for a new software update for Android Pie... but I hate waiting because it is a very aggravating issue and love my music! Is ANYONE else having these same issues? Is there a solution that anyone can think of? I would like to just revert back to the previous software version and forget about it, but I am not sure of the problems that may cause...
  12. I wanted to let everyone know about a new product we are now offering for the I0B work truck vehicles. We can now offer a navigation solution to these vehicles and at the same time give you the ability to add more camera functionality and HDMI input for video solutions. This particular vehicle has been somewhat ignored by most manufactures out there as far as solutions go, but I think you find this one to be pretty slick. What I have really noticed about the I0B system is that the screen resolution and clarity is WAY better than the 8" touchscreen (in my opinion). This not only opens up a whole world of new opportunity for the I03 trucks, but it now gives the current I0B user more possibility. I'm eager to get some feed back and what everyone's thoughts are on this. As usual, I wont be in here a ton, but I will make a point to try and check in at least once a day for a while to participate and answer questions. This first video was made kind of on the fly and with very little time, however it does show the new pieces capability's. I'm really hoping to get a more detailed video put together in the next couple weeks showing more. As always...please feel free to TEXT me with any questions. 919-995-9523
  13. Hey, everyone! New to the forums here -- my name is Chris and I just picked up my 1st Suburban yesterday; a CPO 2016 LT w/Luxury package, Sun & Entertainment, wheel upgrade, etc. Loving the truck so far, just one minor issue. I am unable to get the car to recognize my Pixel 3 XL and launch Android Auto. Before anyone asks, yes -- I have the AA app installed. I've done my due diligence before posting, scouring the web for hours now, to no avail. The USB works in charging my phone, but the car just won't launch AA. I was able to connect my wife's iPhone and CarPlay launched immediately. I tried a couple different cables and even tried all the "developer options" tweaks that I read about online. I ordered a couple of different USB-A to USB-C cables built to 3.0 spec just to be sure cables aren't the issue, but other than that not sure what I can do other than waste 1/2 at the dealer to see if they can figure it out. I really don't want to have to do that. Help, GM-TRUCKS.com, you're my only hope!
  14. Hey everyone, I've been meaning to post my experiences with Android Auto in my 19 trail boss. I have a Pixel 2 XL phone running the latest version of Android OS (v.9 with Dec. security patch) along with the latest version of Android Auto (v.3.8.584564). I also have the latest version of Chevy Mylink installed on my truck. So I have been experiencing random android auto app closes while listing to Spotify or using Google Maps for navigation. I have tried troubleshooting the problem by switching usb cables, which I am using type c, wiping my "managed cars" from within android auto, I also have tried factory resetting my phone completely without restoring from a backup. Some days are better then others for how long the app will display without randomly closing. When this problem does occur I can usually just select "Android Auto" on Mylink and the app will launch again, sometimes. I wasn't sure if there are any other daily Android Auto users out there having the same trouble as me on their trail boss? *Edit: I also experience audio issues in AA every now and again. I will plug my phone in and play a song through Spotify using AA and the audio's volume will be lower then the FM radio. I've tried making the adjustments using my phone's volume buttons but it doesn't result in a change through Mylink. I unplug the USB cable and plug it back in and like magic the audio is much louder. **Edit2: The audio issue I mentioned in my previous edit is no longer happening to me. I suspect a recent Chevy MyLink update resolved that. I ordered a factory USB type-c cable from Google Store and I am awaiting it's arrival. I'll post back with my results. I'll update my post with additional info when I get the chance. I appreciate any thoughts or solutions. Thanks!
  15. Duncan Aldred, U.S. vice president, Buick and GMC commented on the system, saying, “Providing Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility ushers in a new era of staying connected in a convenient manner." Apple Car Play is rolling out sooner and will be available in many markets in the fall.

  17. Apple's CarPlay and Google's Android Auto is software that allows certain functions and apps from a driver's smartphone to be projected and controlled from a vehicle's in dash infotainment system. Both of Chevrolet's infotainment systems will work with CarPlay and Android Auto for 2016. The 7-inch system will work with both standards at the start of production while Chevrolet will offer owners of the 8-inch systems the ability to upgrade later in the year. The 8-inch system will only be compatible with CarPlay at the start of production and will gain Android Auto compatibility with the update. Unfortunately for current owners, 2015 and earlier system cannot be upgraded and will never work with CarPlay and Android Auto. That said, don't worry. We'd have to imagine that aftermarket upgrade options will be in hot demand for this new bit of tech. We also expect a similar announcement from GMC in the near future. Stay tuned! 2016 Chevrolet Models that will be compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto 7-inch MyLink Spark Cruze Malibu Camaro Silverado Silverado HD 8-inch MyLink Cruze Malibu Impala Volt Camaro Corvette Colorado Silverado Silverado HD Tahoe Suburban
