Thought oil pressure was low so when I got home I checked the level, level was fine. However, the oil was black. Dealer did the first oil change maybe 1500 miles ago (only 8900mi on it currently) and the oil is black already. Is that normal? I understand that the black color indicates the presence of carbon and is normal, and does not mean it needs to be changed simply based on color. It didn't smell burnt or "old" either. I really do not run this truck that hard and especially not so during the last 1500 miles. I'm just hoping someone can educate me on the world of diesel engine oil and differences vs gas engine oil. I would expect the oil not to be thorougly black after such a recent oil change.

Hey guys, I have a 2020 Silverado 3.0l Duramax. I'm looking for the gm filling procedure. I wasn't able to find it and was going to try a local dealership for it if this doesn't pan out. I know the temp needs to be brought up and gears cycled through, but I was hoping for an official document for it. If anyone has it I'd appreciate it.

I ordered this kit with wanting to kick the exhaust out the side and having a traditional tip. The PPE tip is 5" and oval'd - it looks great !!! Will be a black tip once they become available - Thanks to Hill Diesel ! Anyway, I had some snags, it was a huge pain getting the exhaust out but so worth it ! Hope this helps someone that is on the fence. It's a small increase in sound, mostly just deeper. I love it, though ! Looks great !

Has anyone used this PSI Power Tuner or found where others have used this? I found the product on two different sites; the 2nd URL has better details on the product. I'm skeptical on this product, being that no other tuners have released products for the 3.0L Duramax (LM2). PSI Power 2020 3.0L Duramax Performance Module (Truck Edition) | Thoroughbred Diesel Agricultural Diesel PSI Power Module 2020 3.0L GM Duramax (parleysdieselperformance.com) Also, what about these two products? https://afepower.com/afe-power-50-70064t-momentum-hd-cold-air-intake-system-w-pro-10r-filter#overview https://afepower.com/afe-power-77-44014-scorcher-hd-module#overview And this? https://www.sbfilters.com/cold-air-intakes/silverado-sierra-1500-duramax-3-0-intake-75-5137?variant_id=712

I bought my 2020 GMC AT4 back in early December. I took delivery up in Montana so my first drive was a 750 mile trip home. I have driven it very little since and it currently has about 1500 miles on it. I noticed the CEL on the other day so I plugged my ODB scanner into to reveal a Code P2002 Diesel Particulate Filter Efficiency Below Threshold. It was running fine, no other apparent symptoms. Read more at: https://www.obd-codes.com/p2002 I took it into the dealer two days ago. They called me later that afternoon and said that it was a new situation and that they were working with GM Engineers to determine a proper course of action but they would like to keep it overnight. I wasn't surprised, in fact I expect that out of a new power plant and I have a daily driver. Yesterday they let me know they were Fed-Exing an "exhaust pressure differential sensor" from Lansing. They said the truck was OK to drive and that I could pick it up if I wanted. I elected to wait until the repair was completed and hope to have it back today. I didn't see this code posted on the forum so I thought I would drop this information here for others to search. I will provide another update when I get the truck back. I will also ask what this would cost if it wasn't under warranty because I think that is useful information for evaluating the total cost of owning the LM2 diesel plant. I did get an extended warranty but cost/risk and warranty coverage will be a inevitably be a huge factor in deciding how long to keep this particular rig. I really really like driving it, more than the 6.2 and ALOT more than the 5.3. I haven't towed with it yet but I hope to try that out this weekend. WALLY
