  1. Long story short, I think I need to buy springs but don't know which ones to select. RockAuto has 27 different "GM Genuine" coil springs for a 2017 GMC Sierra with 6.2L engine. I am wanting to match the spring rate of a 2017 GMC Sierra SLT CrewCab 4x4 6.2L. If someone has this exact truck, maybe they could post their RPO codes please? Or maybe, hopefully, someone has a better idea to get this info? The long story (if you care to read on) is I have the 2017 GMC Sierra Denali CrewCab 4x4 6.2L with MagneRide shocks & struts. The truck has just under 60K miles and the ride quality has degraded over time. I know at least 1 shock is bad due to it leaking, no codes have been thrown on the dash. Due to the mileage and the expense of the MagneRide shocks, I am pursuing replacing them all with conventional shocks and at the same time, getting my truck level. Several options on the market claiming great ride quality but I'm leaning towards the Bilstein 5100's that I've had on past trucks or the Eibach ProTruck kit E80-23-006-02-22 for $704 that sound great too but I'll need to buy strut mounts and deal with compressing those beasts (others have had issues). Or possibly the RoughCountry E2 loaded struts #501029 - inexpensive but not sure on ride quality + reliability or maybe even Fox 2.0's if I can find them for a good price. I would even consider the Belltech coilovers #15102 for $650 /pair if I could find someone running them with a positive review. If/since my MagneRide coil springs aren't the same/compatible, with some kits including the Bilsteins, I'll need to buy new springs, which isn't a huge deal since they aren't too expensive - some as low as $34. I know Eibach's kit comes with springs included but it appears they have a higher spring rate for trucks with extra weight on the front of their trucks. Of course, I'll need to deal with the MRC electronics, cheapest I've found is https://www.magdelete.com/collections/sierra-1500 and I may end up just getting the entire kit from him but don't know which springs are used with his either... It does make some sense that there are so many different GM Genuine coil springs due to there being 3 different engines available, 3 different cab sizes and 4 different trims... I do zero off-roading or towing and am just looking for a nice street ride with a leveled look. I welcome input on anything I've said but I'm mainly looking for the proper conventional OEM spring that will match best with my truck.
  2. Hope you guys are doing well! Found a lovely deal for a chevy 2016 - LT Z71 - V5.3 This is my first truck and looking to lift it. found a good price for Rough Country lift kit - 3.5 inch BILSTEIN 5100: https://psp.ae/product/bilstein-performance-shocks-15/ Rough Country KIT: https://www.roughcountry.com/gm-suspension-lift-kit-275-8.html Many people been complaining about how cheap the rough country shocks are, so I was thinking is it possible to install Bilstein 5100 shocks kit on this kit? or would they not fit into these? This way I would lift the truck + level it + have some what better shocks I thought about selling the Rough Country shocks instead Your thought and experience are much appreciated!
  3. So i finally pulled the trigger and installed a light bar on my 2019 Trailboss. I wanted a bumper mount, but refused to drill holes. SoAfter looking all over ZROADZ was the only mounting option i could find. So I bought these ZROADZ mounts https://zroadz.com/i-23909931-2019-2021-chevrolet-silverado-1500-front-bumper-top-led-bracket-to-mount-30-inch-curved-led-light-bar-pn-z322282.html#!submodel%3DLT TRAIL BOSS||model%3DSILVERADO 1500||make%3DCHEVROLET||year%3D2019 and this Rough Country 30” Curved bar light. https://www.roughcountry.com/30-inch-curved-led-light-bar-72930blkdrl.html The install for the mounts and light was very easy. the ZROADZ link above has a pdf with installation instructions, but it mounts to the bumper mounting bolts. The Rough Country light bar has a very high quality wiring harness and i didn’t want to mess with that and shorten it up, so the excess is taped and hidden behind the fender. There is an accessory “port” where the trucks wiring goes through the firewall, so getting wires through was a cake walk. Just cut the end of the rubber piece off. I took the switch plug aport pushed it through and put plug back on. There is a black plastic mounting box for one of the vehicle control modules you will have to remove to reach the wire on the inside. It is held on with two nuts and comes off easily. I ran the switch wiring behind the console and up through steering column. Its a temporary location until i can find a good solution. I would really like to use one of the blanks in the center console. The light bar itself is crazy bright and can’t believe i went this long without it. My only complaint and its me being picky, is that the light bar sticks out a bit further that i had hoped. And that is only because the RC light bar is no where near as deep as others i have seen. Its about an inch shallower than the light bars on my ATV. If it was like other light bars, you probably wouldn’t even notice. I wanted to post a bunch of images to show the install, but it only allows a few so here is a link to a google photos album. https://photos.app.goo.gl/eKYFVvY9ij9ZnDfEA I hope this helps, if anyone has a questions or wants other pics. Let me know.
  4. The wait is over! FINALLY it seems that all of the manufacturers have released their lift kits. So besides the 2” GM lift, who out there has put a RC lift or Procomp, or BDS or fabtech on their new truck yet? Would love to see pics as well please.
  5. On my 2015 Silverado Crew Cab 2WD, I currently have the RC 2.5 inch spacer leveling kit with all stock shocks. I am wanting to replace all 4 shocks with Bilstein 5100s. Does anyone have experience combining these shocks with the spacers from RC? I would also like a little more ground clearance. Nothing too crazy, just a little more aggressive look than the stock 2WD height with a leveling kit. Trying to decide if I take the spacers out and go with the RC 3.5 inch suspension lift with upper control arms, remove the spacers and go with Bilstein 5100 on the highest setting all around, or simply replace all shocks with 5100 and keep the spacers up front. Just trying to figure out what will get me the look I want and also be the most mechanically sound so I don't cause any weird issues with ball joints, etc. Any help would be awesome. Thanks!
  6. In case anyone else out there is looking for a winch mount, but can't seem to find anything for the 20's yet. We went ahead and ordered the Rough Country EXO winch mount specified for the '11-'19 GM and it ended up mounting with very little modifications to the brackets. The frame spacing was nearly the same as the '18 that we have so we figured it was worth a shot. The hole which has to align with the tow hook mounting bolt had to be slotted to match up, and we used a 1/2" SS extension plate to bolt to the bottom of the bracket and into the bottom of the frame rail since the frame is not boxed all the way to the end. The Warn winch install was a breeze as to be expected. We are very pleased with how it turned out for the most part, but would have liked to be able to order the mount without all the light openings as we already have a Whelen work light package. (Don't mind the poor picture quality, I'll get some good photos uploaded after it's cleaned up)
  7. I am sure this has been covered somewhere but figured wouldn’t hurt to just post some photos up because I couldn’t really find any. Background: 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 with the awful ranchos Has the zone 2 inch lower strut spacer then a .5 inch RC top spacer, the rear is factory. I have ran many different size tires (I work at a tire wholesaler so just have access to try them all) 275/55R20 Goodyear (factory) LT295/55R20 Cooper stt pro (Only had 2 inch level) LT295/60R20 Toyo MT (Added the extra .5) P305/55R20 Nitto Ridge Grappler u(rode amazing FYI) LT295/60R20 Nitto Ridge Grappler (Current set) All the above mentioned have scrubbed in some form or another and while being mounted to my factory 20 inch snowflakes. Sway bar and/or Stamped steel UCA. Current set rubbed both as far as I could tell. Anyways I decided to try out some 1/4 inch wheel spacers to see if that helped my problem and installed them tonight. Will check the rubbing out tomorrow. About talked myself out of them after reading stuff but there were more saying they were okay. From what I could tell I got 8 hand turns out of the lugs once the spacer was on then probably another 1.5 or 2 it seemed like when tightening them down. Snapped a could photos. If anyone needs anymore in daylight I can do that
  8. Hey all, I have a 2016 Silverado Midnight edition. The factory size of my tires are 265 65 R18. I recently put on 275 70 R18 and 2” rough country spacers. I’m getting a little rubbing on the insides of the wheel wells when I turn my wheel fully. The fronts barely clear. What’s the best way to fix? I could just avoid turning the wheel all the way but I don’t really want to go that route. Would a lift help? Or maybe cutting out some of the plastic? Or should I just deal with it until the tire wears down some because they are brand new?
  9. I installed a 3" Rough Country life kit with the a-arms on my 2019 Silverado 4x4 a couple days after I bought it new. It's OK, but, and I should have known this, the truck still has the "snow plow" front rake. Was curious if I can simply add the 1" "ring" to the top of the coils to gain a more lever look. Am thinking the a-arms will permit the additional lift. Has anyone tried this? Thanks.
  10. I just ordered a Rough Country leveling kit for my 2019 Silverado. I know I can install it myself but will I need an alignment? Has anyone actually installed one of these on a 2019? Did it throw the alignment off? Was just curious if I should spend the money getting an alignment or not. Thanks in advanced. I have a newer body style 2019 if it makes a difference.
  11. Hey guys! I have a 2011 GMC Sierra 2500HD WT 4X4. I am looking at installing a 3.5" rough country suspension lift on my truck and I have read mixed reviews. If anyone with a similar truck preferably an HD that is running this specific lift or knows someone who is could just tell me whether or not its worth the 600$ and if its something I should pursue.
  12. Selling 2” rough country level kit. This is the lower strut spacer. I decided to go a different route so it’s brand new, never installed. $40 shipped Also have factory rear blocks if anyone needs them
  13. I was debating over the rough country 2" kit or the readylift 2.25" leveling kits. I ended up choosing the readylift just for the fact that it is aircraft aluminum and not polyurethane type stuff like the RC is. The install was fairly easy and the truck looks awesome. Ride is the exact same as factory. The truck sits almost perfectly level, with only .25" of rake. Pics below are before and after. I also took off the factory running boards and the front vailance. Before After
  14. Have scoured across the interwebs for a video showing a similar sound that i'm experiencing. I installed a 2.5" Level Kit and don't remember if the sound was present upon install or after a couple thousand miles. Total miles are at about 4000 with the kit. It rides fine, just went to SC and back from FL. It's still a dream, just a funky noise when turning the steering wheel to the right. When turning to the left, it's not bad at all. I don't even think it has a sound. Please view the video link below and let me know if you have any questions or if you can diagnose it. I understand a mechanic may need to get involved, but before so, I'd like to try to fix it myself. I just re tightened everything just in case.
  15. I pulled this off my truck because I swapped to lifted struts and didn’t need it anymore. Super easy way to level the front of your truck. Just unbolt your strut and slide in this spacer between the strut and lower control arm. You’ll have to pick up some new nyloc nuts which you can get at any hardware store. My struts didn’t come with nuts so I had to reuse my existing ones. $40 shipped
  16. I recently purchased another Silverado after driving a Ram for nearly 5 years. Had 2 Silverados before and leaving the Chevy family was a mistake! Anyways, I purchased a 2014 Silverado Z71 4x4. I am soecifically looking to in install the 2014 Silverado 2” RC leveling kit & 285/55/20 wheels with 12-18 offset. Rough Country does not recommend this after market wheel but says the stock 20 is ok.... is it that much of a difference? Does anyone have this exact setup? I am looking for any feedback. I could also go with the 2.5” but they say to replace the struts if you do.... what y’all think?
  17. So as we all know the RC spacers dont give you a true level. Most dont want it because it makes the truck look like its sagging in the back. However, I installed mine and to my surprise the front is still 1.5" lower than the back. Anyone else see these numbers? Question number 2: Ebay sells spacers for the top of the strut assembly. I found some that are 3/8" thick which I'm thinking should bring me up to right about where I want to be. I dont want a true level, but within an inch would be nice. Does anyone know of any negative side affects with combining this 3/8 thick spacer with the rough country? Thanks fellas!
  18. Just found this. https://www.roughcountry.com/gm-suspension-lift-kit-29530.html
  19. There is thread on this forum for suspension lifts, but not body lifts. Also noticing a lot of people posting up requesting for pictures, info, etc. So lets get a thread started for body lifts. Remember to post the brand and size also!!! Preferably pictures of the sides, front, and rear, GO!!!
  20. I have heard that a lot of guys have had issues with the ball joints with the Rough country 2" leveling blocks. I have a 2018 silverado 1500 with stamped control arms. I just put on the 2" Rough country leveling blocks. Has anyone replaced the stock stamped control arms? It would be nice to service them if needed I was looking at the rough country but they say its not for the stamped control arms. Someone mentioned moog control arms. I also saw readylift has control arms for the stamped control arms. Any suggestions would be great
  21. Hey guys, first post here! I am looking at lifting my 2015 1500 Z71 4x4 and started out by looking at leveling kits and then progressed to a 3.5" lift kit and then just decided to do the Fabtech 4" budget kit but I have a question, the strut spacers only look like they are 2" or so tall and I was concerned that this lift isn't a true 4" lift kit. Also I was concerned that the control arms don't adjust the ball joint angles because they look like they have the same geometry as stock. If any of yall have experience with this lift kit could you let me know if it is a true 4'' lift in the front or does it just bring it level bc the strut spacers don't look like they would give 4". I was turned onto this kit bc of the price and the 4" height but now I have concerns whether or not it is a true 4" Thanks!
  22. Rough Country says that the installation time is 8-10 hours. The kit was designed to eliminate welding and according to the country only requires minimal cutting and drilling. Factory width is maintained.
