  1. I have an 04 gmc Sierra Wt with a weird issue. it started when my battery went bad. i use the intermittent pin in the body-12 way-brown in the cab fuse block as an ignition driven accessory. the first thing i noticed was the accessory would only work every now and then. next the blower stopped working, the abs and brake likes came on, all at the same time. after messing with it all day here is the current issue. the abs and brake like come on when the blower speed control it set to any speed other then 0. when set back to 0 the abs and brake lights will turn off. the intermittent pin on the body-12 way-brown has low voltage and cant power my accessory. the constant power pin next to the intermittent pin has full 12 volts. I have checked every fuse and cleaned the ground on the forward driver side and the ground in front of the driver side suspension. I have also added 3 ground wires cab to battery frame to battery block to battery I am at a lose for what to do. Could it be a bad relay?
  2. Hi, I have a 2005 Sierra Denali. When I got the truck from my uncle who was the original owner, the gauge cluster, which was brand new installed by GM did not illuminate the ABS and BRAKE lights. Everything else works. I pulled the cluster apart and tested that those LED’s work, and they do. I replaced the ABS pump unit because it was not functioning, and had the EBCM rebuilt. The ABS functions correctly now with the exception of those lights that have never been on since I got the truck. Even if I press the Parking brake/E-brake, the red BRAKE light stays off but it will ding at me if try to drive with it on, similarly, before I replaced the ABS pump, I got a message in the odometer screen saying “Service Brake System”, no lights from either. No fault codes. They don’t even come on when cycling the key, but all the other ones do. I’m at a loss. Can’t find any broken wires or bad grounds. Any help would be great. Thank you!
  3. Back in January I had the ABS light coming on and the brake booster kicking in at low speeds or when beginning to stop, changed the front ABS speed sensors and solved problem. Now at highway speed of 60 mph or greater the abs light comes on and the alarm dinger that is identical to the buckle seat alarm comes on goes off a few miles later it comes again. It usually has to be driven about 6 to 8 miles before this cycle begins. Can anyone help me diagnose this problem? My mechanic put his computer on it and it's not throwing a code and it has us puzzled.
  4. I have a 2017 with a 6" lift, that was installed 2 months ago, the rest of the details are to the left of the page, or in my build page in my sig. While towing a '87 Chevy home from Alabama the past weekend, I got a few codes all at once. I will try to be as detailed as I can, to help keep the guessing and questioning to a minimum. The codes are as follows; Stabilitrac Trailer And the ABS light is on During all of this, I noticed that the Traction control switch down by the console stays unlit, meaning you can not turn it on or off (is that standard when towing, so it does not read the trailer and drive you nuts?). More issues while this is happening, I have no Cruise Control, the trailer lights work, the trailer brakes work as well. We pulled over to check it out, we did notice that the ABS wiring has worn the wax coating off the frame, but has not chaffed the wires at all on either side up front. I shut the truck off for about 4 minutes, the codes went away (I wiggled the wires to see if I could get the codes to come back, didn't happen), but returned a couple miles or so down the road. We checked the trailer plug, it is fine. We were driving at 80mph, the road was "wavy" not pot holes. They all came back again, reset the codes again, drove gain on very flat ground, they came back again. So, I drove a few hundred miles that way, while we both were thinking of possibilities in our heads. This all repeated again later on. We got to Michigan, stopped for gas, reset the codes, they did not come back for the next 40 minutes while on flat roads (dropped truck off at my buddy's house). When I went to leave, I backed down his driveway with the trailer still on (about150 yards or so), no codes, put it in drive, and almost instantly they came back. I drove to a bank, sat there, reset the codes, unplugged the trailer to start eliminating possibilities. I started to drive to my house (2 1/2 hours away), got about two miles with no codes, there they are again... so, I plugged the trailer back in, so I would at least have lights, and brakes. On the way home I noticed that my volt meter way down near nine, it is usually around 14. Later on during the drive, it came back to 14. By unplugging the trailer, and the codes came back, I know it has nothing to do with the trailer electrically. I know there are a few possibilities of what it could be, and there is a lot of information here. 1) Driving 80 mph on the highway while towing makes the truck rise and return much more than it normally would, like a boat on water. The 6" lift could be causing the wires to intermittently lose connection, but it did it when wavy, or completely flat roads as well. 2) Is this related to the TC switch, meaning it is the main issue? (Probably not) 3) is it the ground by the speaker in the dash on the drives side? Don't know yet. (my buddy found that searching for a possibility while I was driving in Ohio) 4) Or is it just as simple as I can blame it on Ohio? It started while I was driving there, and we all know how Ohio is... I'm going to drive around today without the trailer attached to see what happens. My money says it going to come back, but, why does it even say service trailer?
  5. 10/29/2018 - took delivery of my 2019 Denali Ultimate 11/10/2018 - Wife drove truck from Brownsville, TN to Jackson, TN and back. On the way back, the digital instrument cluster and heads up display went black. Came back about 8 to 10 seconds later. Later that evening, I get into the truck to drive to the end of the driveway to get the pizza from the delivery guy (yeah, call me lazy, but we do have a long driveway) - upon starting the truck, the brake, stabilitrack, ABS, check engine lights come on along with "Service PCM", "Check Brakes" and "Speed Limited to 62mph" messages on the digital instrument console. Called OnStar and they confirmed and sent an email. 11/11/2018 - Took the truck to local dealership. There were DTC codes and they pulled them. Dealership stated they contacted GM Engineering and were awaiting a response. I also mentioned the high pitch whine issue when at steady throttle. They were able to recreate the whine and were unsure of where it was coming from. They said they thought it might be the sound system. That didn't seem consistent with me as it is always when the truck is at steady stated load as if it were a hydraulic whine from the drive train. 11/12/2018 - As if by happenstance, there was a software update available this morning. I let it install. Afterward, when I get into the truck and the "GMC" logo displays on the digital instrument console, it blinks on and off sporadically. Sometimes it shows nothing at all. Other times, it just shows a horizontal line across the display. 1/27/2019 - Today I was driving from my home in Brownsville, TN to Southaven, MS with my family to attend a cheer competition for my two daughters. Driving at around 70mph, the typical instrument cluster/heads up display going dark issue happened, but this time the entire truck violently jerked as if the engine shut off but the drive train, considering everything was still locked into gear, pushed the engine over until the power came back on a split second later. The radio was muted when this happened and it magically unmuted itself (as if the power blinked). That was the first incident. Three other times after that, the instrument cluster and heads up display went dark and came back on as if power was removed and it rebooted (individual objects on the display coming back on as the data from the CAN bus was received). - Anytime the temperature drops below what seems to be around 35F, lane keeping and parking assist becomes unavailable. - Anytime I connect my 8x16 trailer, the blind spot monitoring system for both the driver and passenger side goes nuts until eventually the system says it shuts it off on the console, but the mirror lights keep going ape shit... - This has only happened twice, but I have had the "ghost" trailer issue as well. The display on the center console acts as if a trailer is connected, but the digital instrument console shows the message "Trailer Disconnected" warning. How can a trailer be detected and disconnected at the same time? Are there any official GMC reps on here that can assist? Anyone else care to comment? Thanks in advance, Steve
