  1. Hello, Borat here. I have 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 with 80,000 miles. HIGH FIVE! But it have problem. I have noticed sometimes when accelerating(on ramp getting on high way) there is a whining/gear grinding type sound. I can only force it to happen by punching the accelerator and causing it to shift from 4 or 5 into 2 or 3. It sporadically happens at low speeds but I’ve been able to replicate it happening around 70mph and hard acceleration. See video below for sound. https://youtu.be/9L2obt0J2eg
  2. This is my first post here so cut me some slack if it's in the wrong place.. Anyway, I recently bought myself a 2013 Silverado 2500, gas 6.0, 4x4 & on the drive home taking the highway I noticed there is little shake/vibration when on the gas when going 40+. Nothing bad at all, just seems to run less then smooth while on the accelerator going 40 & over. It completely stops when I let off the gas & just coast. It feels like its coming from the engine but if not then idk where it could be coming from.. Up till this point I've read it could be the driveshaft or U-joints, which are not looking to healthy, very rusty. Anything else it could most likely be? Odometer currently reads 50,500. Thanks in advance!
  3. Hi all! Bought my 2020 Silverado RST almost a year ago (12000km) and this summer started noticing a whirring noise as I accelerate with the AC on, it doesn't happen when the AC is off. Dealership says its normal and its because its under load (been a hot and humid summer), another post here had a couple other people experiencing it but its over a year old so wanted to see if anyone else has/is experiencing it. Did any parts get replaced? Did it help? The dealership said to keep an eye on it and they would replace the compressor if it got worse or if it continued when temps drop but if its normal function then that likely wouldn't help. Won't lie...i'm not impressed with how loud it is considering its a 60k truck.
  4. Hi, I’ve got a Silverado 2016 Z71 4x4 with the 5.3L. When I take my truck to work in the morning (cold start) and make a left out of my neighborhood, my truck makes a grinding noise as I accelerate during the left turn. It sounds like metal cans clanking. I can feel it in the gas pedal too. I’ve tried reproducing in an empty lot by turning and accelerating and I get nothing. It was really bad one time when I made a right turn out of a parking lot onto a Main Street. The street was lower than the asphalt I was coming off from and so my truck bounced a bit while I accelerated right this time. Grinded really bad. Any ideas?
  5. I have a 1997 chevy suburban 4wd and while in 4wd it was making a loud clanging noise when accelerating in 4wd hi or 4wd lo. Anyways everything underneath was tight and no play. I couldn't figure it out. It has the dash 2wd 4wd hi and 4wd lo electric switch it wasn't flashing while in 4wd hi or low and you could hear an engagement sound when 4wd selected. I thought it maybe it was the front crown and pinion gear missing a tooth. I took it to the mechanic and it was the 4wd actuator! I guess it was gimped up and engaging and disengaging while in 4wd and making a horrible clanging noise. Anyways I replaced the actuator myself a few years ago (which was possibly the easiest repair ever) but the 4wd light was flashing and it wasn't engaging at that time. Anyways it cost me a fair bit more to have a mechanic diagnose and then replace the actuator but if it happens again I'll know what it is. Also I may be able to help someone else searching online for an answer. It's a fairly cheap fix to do yourself and super simple to do. About $60 from 1aauto! Hope this helps someone out.
