  1. I have a 2002 gmc sierra 1500 denali with the lq4, was running 45 psi fuel pressure idling i then changed the regulator and pump and now idles at 50 psi and is sluggish, if i remove the vacuum line on the regulator the pressure rises to 60 like oem spec says and it runs much better like this. My question is can i run the truck without the vacuum line connected? Will it go lean? Can i cap the line off? Definitely idles and pulls better with the line off.
  2. I'm planning on doing a carb conversion on my Sonoma from the crappy tbi setup. I have picked out most of the parts I need but I can't find a good fuel pressure regulator. Since it's tbi the pump only outputs around 13 psi and I only need to step it down to around 7, Would I need a return style regulator when dropping only 6 psi? Or does the stock pump have a pressure release valve to release the excess back pressure from the step down? Any helpful information about the conversion would be nice. I also have Vortec heads on the 95's V6 not the stock pre-vortec heads if that makes any difference. I have everything picked out except the carb and regulator, if anyone has ideas as to which carb and regulator I should choose let me know.
  3. how does the fuel pressure regulator come off the fuel rail on a 1997 chevy vortec 7.4 MFI engine? We have the fuel rail out and the vacuum activated fuel pressure regulator appears to be attached directly to the fuel rail. There is not the normal clip holding it on that you would see on non-MFI engines (TBI). Its either pressed on, or somehow attached to the bracket which is attached to the rail.
  4. So i have a 2000 chevy silverado 1500 4x4 with the 5.3L V8. I have replaced the seals on the injectors, new fuel pump, new fuel filter and new spark plugs and wires. The issue i am facing that i cannot figure out is why im still losing pressure in the fuel. It is no problem when it is cold it fires right up. But when its warm and i leave it shut off for more than five minutes, it takes three or four cycles of the key to start. I know im losing pressure but i do not know where or how. there is no fuel leaks anywhere that i can see. and with replacing everything i am stumped and need some help.
