  1. Okay so I’m new to this forum, but I’m in need of insight and direction with my truck. It’s been broke down since Xmas eve of last year and before it broke down I had my cousin who owns All Pro Performance out where I live redo the lift and a few other things in the front end along with tires etc. anyways he not only charged me far more than agreed, come to find out he didn’t actually do any of the work he charged me 5k to do. To make this short & sweet, he slapped a 3.73 front diff in the front when my rear is a 4.56 gear ratio. My 4x4 obviously hasn’t worked since but my ring and pinion & spider gears in the rear are trashed now which means I’m doing the work this time instead of trusting someone else. My question is with my truck having a 6inch lift and 35in tires on it what would the best gear ratio be to go with? The 3.73 in both or the 4.56?? I’ve heard both would be fine. I’m trying to get this beast of mine back on the road before winter hits since it’s mine and my daughters only means of transportation, being a single mother requires a reliable vehicle. If y’all could give me your insight and knowledge on the matter I’d greatly appreciate it. I need this done the right way this time. thanks
  2. Anyone hve information on lifting a sonoma 4x4, there isn't many options out there and i don't want to Fab it? i'm looking for more clearance to enjoy the 4 wheel drive without loosing the ride integrity if possible
  3. I get it, I'm an idiot who should search the forum. As much as I accept this, I have searched the forum and I completely suck at it because I can't find what I'm looking for. Initially, all I wanted to do was just level my truck. However, after purchasing a leveling kit that gets placed on the bottom of the strut, I read a ton of reviews saying they suck because they put stress on the control arms, so I returned the kit. Since I like the look of the AT4, I figured I'd look at 2-3" suspension lift kits and discovered there are some that aren't that expensive, so now I'm pretty set on going this route. My question is-- do these lift kits also level the truck, and if not, will doing so put the same stress on the control arms as leveling it with the stock suspension? Clearly, my idiocy stretches far beyond searching ****** on this forum... I was planning to go with Bilstein shocks anyway and found this kit online. Does anyone know if this will also level my truck? I was also looking at this 3" Superlift that comes with Bilsteins, it's more expensive, but if it does more of what I'm looking for, I'm down. Call me an idiot, I'm married, so I'm used to it. Any advice would be much appreciated. Cheers!

Looking for suggestions on front coilovers for 2014 SIlverado 4x4, I currently have a 3" motofab level kit installed including aftermarket Motofab UCA (Which I am not happy with and will be swapping out) Nevertheless I would like to maintain the 3" lift but go away from the spacer to a coilover kit without breaking the bank. I have been looking at the following and interested in feedback outside of going to a full blown 4" lift which I'm trying to stay away from but not opposed too either. Also to mention this is my daily driver so more on road than off road use. Bilstein 6112- won't get me to 3" only 2.75 at highest setting (maybe) Eibach Pro-truck Coilovers 1.75-4" $850 which I'm leaning towards due to price but not familiar with the coilovers I know Eiback makes a good spring which is used on several other brands including FOX Zone Coilovers 0-3" around $2K to purchase (Ouch) Icon 1-3" Coilovers about $1720 these are just a few I have researched but open to thoughts and suggestions and looking forward to the feedback, I'd like to stay under a thousand if possible.
  5. Hey ya'll, new to the forum. I recently put a rough country 6 inch suspension lift on my truck with 22x12s and 35s. I figured that they would fit but they ended up being too big and hitting the outside of my fender. I am looked on wheel sites and found people and better luck with the 33s. I did the norcal mod to pin my fender back to make more room and trimmed the bottom of my front bumper. Just trying to figure out if I am still going to have problems rubbing the exterior of my fender.
  6. Hello, Looking to upgrade my 2017 Silverado 1500 LTZ 4WD. I am set on the 4" BDS Lift kit with the Fox shocks. Is there any benefit to the BDS Recoil System Traction bar upgrade? Or any benefit to the Rear leaf springs upgrade instead of the 4" blocks? Secondly, I am deciding on whether I should get 33" tires or 35" - Any suggestions. Don't want 33's to look small, but don't want 35's to look to big or not fit. Wanting the Nitto Ridge Grappler Tires and Fuel Rebel 8 D679 20x10 Rims. Any suggestions on the BDS upgrades or Tire sizes is greatly appreciated. First time lifting a truck. Thanks!
  7. Hey folks, brand new to this forum so forgive me as I am sure I'm asking something that has been asked before. I am on my third Silverado, and for the first time I'm getting in to mods. I'm stuck on lifts right now. I really want a BDS 4 or 6 inch coilover kit, but I'm hesitant about the price, and not sure if keeping my 18x9's with 33's on the six inch kit will make my truck look like it skipped leg day. Meanwhile in searching for alternatives I'm noticing that, unless you intend to get a waiver from the FAA for occupying dedicated airspace, you don't get many of the same options on other kits from rancho, superlift, procomp, trail master etc. as you would from BDS... can anyone provide some feedback or guidance on a good direction to go? I know BDS it top of the line, and ride height and ride quality are extremely important to me. Truck rides like a dream now, I'm willing to sacrifice a little, but I don't want to eff up my truck with a cheap lift. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you
  8. Hey guys, first post here! I am looking at lifting my 2015 1500 Z71 4x4 and started out by looking at leveling kits and then progressed to a 3.5" lift kit and then just decided to do the Fabtech 4" budget kit but I have a question, the strut spacers only look like they are 2" or so tall and I was concerned that this lift isn't a true 4" lift kit. Also I was concerned that the control arms don't adjust the ball joint angles because they look like they have the same geometry as stock. If any of yall have experience with this lift kit could you let me know if it is a true 4'' lift in the front or does it just bring it level bc the strut spacers don't look like they would give 4". I was turned onto this kit bc of the price and the 4" height but now I have concerns whether or not it is a true 4" Thanks!
  9. Hello All, I'm looking at getting a one of the GMC Sierra 4x4 Elevation Editions in the near future and I'm curious about common lift practices. To give you guys an idea of what I'm looking for here. I currently have a 2008 Tacoma and on all the forums the rule of thumb is no more than 3 inches suspension or spacer or you will run into axle issues. Anything bigger than 3 inches requires a Drop bracket for the Differential. Most Off Road enthusiasts frown upon the drop bracket lifts stating that they get better ground clearance then guys with 6 inch drop bracket lifts because the New lower differential and bracket get hung up. That being said I've been to a few dealerships looking at new and used options and have seen a few that were already lifted like in the 6 inch range. Most of these lifted truck appear be just big ass spacer lifts Like 6 in front and 4 or 5 inch blocks in the rear. Is this legit or is this going to cause major wear issues on ball joints and control arm bushings? Are the Axles able to handle a 6 inch lift without dropping the differential to decrease the angles? where do you guys draw the line?
  10. So I was on the phone with a BDS rep and they told me even the 6" lift only drops 4"??? My concern is the geometry being correct after I put this lift in. BDS has a great rep on THEIR parts. Why would I want to jeopardize my own vehicle? I'm told that the FabTech will actually drop your suspension a full 6" giving you damn near OEM geometry. Can anyone please give me some feedback on this please? Would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking to make my purchase asap.

I ran down to my local truck shop and was discussing about adding 2'' informed him i was looking into installing the Bilstein 5100s as I read where ppl love them and I can adjust from 0-3" ...well we got to talking abt different possibilities and he said I should just lift the front with some strut extensions and call it a day and would be level with the rear got me thinking well when I went home I measured the fronts and rears and as you can see my fronts are abt 3'' lower from my rears ....I install those strut extensions I'm still going be abt an 1" short in the front and but if I install the Bilstein 5100 I should be abt even with my rear if not off by 1/8 give or take .....should I just stick with my original plan and run with the Bilstein 5100s or get the strut extensions ? .......
  12. Hi all, I've read a few places that lifting your truck could potentially lead to a torque/hp loss and turn your truck into a "dog". Any truth to this? Anybody know how this all works? I mean, I understand that if you put bigger wheels and tires on you'll be making the truck heavier and thereby weighing it down a bit, but are the reported losses of power true? Forgive my ignorance, but does it have anything to do with the air moving under the truck? Why are people reporting power losses after doing suspension lifts?
