  1. My trucks going in for open heart surgery in a month. DOD delete, tsp stage 2 L83/5.3 cam in my L86/6.2. I eventually would love to put a blower on it. I drive the truck frequently and don’t want to do too big of a cam where I’ll have to change my torque converter. Will I get away with a L83 stage 3 cam with my stock converter or should I stick to the stage 2. Specs are 5.3L Stage 2 Camshaft w/ +32% Fuel Lobe: 218/226, 635", 113 LSA, 109 ICL All my mods will be intake, portable TB, (hopefully have my heads ported when it goes in for dod delete and cam) LT4 injectors, 1-7/8 long tube hears, off-road y-pipe. I’ll have a 3.5” electric cut out followed by stock exhaust for now. Trucks reverse level and blocks removed. 22x12 -51 285/35r22 no trimming or cutting
  2. Let’s make a photo page for 4wd raised, 2wd lowered, and stock short bed reg cab pickups, These are becoming by far the most hard to find and arguably desirable models, 2016 Chevrolet Silverado Blackout edition 2wd
  3. Hello all! It was suggested I start a build thread so here I am starting one! My truck is a 2016 Silverado Regular Cab with the 5.3L v8 and 6 speed automatic. It has the IOB 7" infotainment center with Apple Play/Android Auto, trailer hitch incorporated into the rear bumper, cruise control, 40/20/40 seats etc and although I originally thought it had 3:42 gears based on the standard items listed on the sticker I somehow missed that my option column shows that it actually has the 3:08 gears. The LT interior was a little too busy looking for me and had a bunch of stuff I didn't really need and about the only option the LS didn't have that I wished for is the steering wheel audio/phone controls but I think I can get by without those especially after finding out from the dealer the cost as well as what it would take to install. I had modifications in mind before even getting the truck such as lowering, tire/wheel upgrade, increasing performance/handling, upgrading to a competition level audio system (my hobby and side business) and of course plans to personalize it to my tastes. Here's what I have done so far and the more I read this forum the more I add to my list so future plans are below! Day 1 Before installing 2" drop shackles and removing spacer block (shows the chrome door handles I installed but did not like so they got changed quickly) After shackles installed/spacer block removed and color matched handles as well as mirror caps installed The gold Bowtie looked out of place to me so I color matched the front one using the rattle can custom mix kit you can get on eBay or Amazon along with Duplicolor primer/adhesion promoter I didn't like the look of the rear Bowtie at all even after color matching so I removed it and I also added the LS emblem to balance out the rear somewhat since now only the LT and LTZ trucks get those emblems for some reason. (I also plan to color match the tailgate handle) More coming in a few minutes!
  4. First off, sorry if there is a thread on this, I searched with no luck. I have recently purchased a 2020 gmc elevation crew cab and installed belltech drop spindles with rear drop shackles (2/2) but would like to drop 4" in the rear. I cant seem to find a 4" kit yet. Has anyone come up with a solution or know of a company who builds one? I have contacted Belltech direct and they have no plans on making a 4". Not sure that I want to c notch a truck with 1100km on it for the 6" Maybe its just not possible on this body style? P.s. This is my first gm product and first time lowering a pickup truck.
  5. don't get me wrong, its great that everyone has their own taste and ideas about what looks good, but I'm tired of seeing lifted T1's, so lets see those lowered T1's, both 2 and 4 wheel drive
  6. The Beginning These build threads are always inspiring and there is some amazing work and creativity out there. So I have decided to make some significant changes to my DD, it started life as a run of the mill 2014 Denali 5.3 4WD with 20" chrome rims and the BS Goodyear tires that came stock.
  7. As the title says, I need some advice from people who have lowered their trucks. It's a 2001 silverado 2wd stepside. I'm thinking of 20 or 22 inch rims but I dont want any rubbing. Max width would be great too cause I'm going to be twin-turboing it. Also this is my first truck so I don't want to be doing any fender tubbing or anything else permanent. Any help would be appreciated! Edit: I haven't lowered it yet. Kinda forgot to mention that ?
  8. Not really my style but I thought I would share this.
  9. Hey what’s up brand new to this forum.... Just decided to buy my ‘16 Sierra Denali after the lease was up so now the fun can begin. Was wondering what everyone’s thoughts are on a 2/4 drop. I don’t wanna get it and then decide it’s not low enough. Only thing to keep in mind is i do live in NYC so we don’t have the nicest roads in the world. And also what brand would be best with keeping the Magneride. Thanks!
  10. So I'm just now getting around to posting about it but finally got the McGaughy's 4/6 deluxe drop installed on my 2018 double cab. Also got my Status Journey 22's wrapped in 285/40/22 rubber and put on as well. I think I'm gonna call this truck Vaderado The kit is very well made and went together pretty easily, I did initially drop the front end 5'' just to see how it looked but couldn't even get my hand in between the bottom of the fender well and the tire, so I adjusted the strut with the spacer rings provided up an inch and shes sitting quite nicely. If anyone has any questions about the kit feel free to ask!! oh and before anyone points it out, yes the rear exhaust tip is lower and not perfect, we ended up bending it down and busting the hanger slightly in the process of doing the rear as it didn't quite clear the leaf pack
  11. Finally got my wheels on last night! Was excited to take some before and after pictures when I got home from work today. Mods so far: - Belltech 4/7 drop (measured out to be closer to a 3.5/6.5 drop) - CK375 22x9 wheels with Nitto 285/40s all the way around - Full Debadge I want to do some color matching next....chrome painted white??? Let me know what you think! 12. I'm thinking of lower my truck and the other day I saw a lowered RCSB Z71 carrying what looked like a refrigerator in the bed, which made me think: How much carrying weight capacity is lost when lowering the rear of your truck by 2,3,4 or 5 inches before bottoming out?
  13. anyone else have a problem after lowering there Silverado. After I did a 2x4 drop when I hit 80 mph the driveline starts to vibrate. Anyone find a fix for this.
  14. I have been trying to figure out how to slam my 2017 Sierra. It’s 4wd, I have found a flip kit online for the rear that will give me 5-6” drop in the rear. But I can’t seem to find anything for the front that will work with he 5” drop in the rear. Has anyone seen anything out there that I have over looked??
  15. Alright so I’m thinking of doing a 2/4 drop on my 14 Silverado got a quick question. Will I have to mess with the driveshaft at all I don’t want the driveline to go in to the transmission. Will I have any problems.
