  1. I recently purchased the 1988 GMC Sierra k1500 350 four-wheel drive extended cab long bed with 155.5 wheel span, I'm trying to find the engine transmission and transfer case codes to no luck the transmission gear shift says L123, can anyone help me as to figure out what I have
  2. I bought a 2023 new body style Silverado 1500 LT the only issue im having is that the passenger seat isn’t electric its a manual, has anyone done the swap from manual to electric ? if so how complicated is it
  3. I have a 2019 Silverado LD with 21k miles on it. I noticed that if I'm in manual mode, I get a hard downshift from 3-2. No other gears. It does it off and on. What could it be?
  4. I have a 2001 2500 HD with ZF6 6 speed manual transmission 4*4, I bought the truck at a deal and am finding out why......it's a unicorn...lol. I am just a blue collar worker like most of the rest of us and can't afford the $3500 price tag on a rebuilt trans especially since I don't have a $1000 core transmission to trade them. I still have the transfer case and driveshafts and all other parts to the 4*4 trans..I found a 2wd ZF6 6 speed trans with only 140,*** miles on it I can get at a steal and am wondering if I can change tail shaft and make the 2wd into a 4*4 transmission? Any help would be greatly appreciated even possibly part #'s if possible.....I guess I can drive the truck as a 2wd if I have to but 4wd is one reason I bought the truck....BTW this is my first diesel so any and all help is appreciated..... ONE I WILLIE

  6. Hi everybody, I have an electrical issue with my Silverado 2008, I need the manual. Other members shared this some years ago but now isn't in dropbox. I hope someone could share me the repair manual again. https://www.dropbox.com/s/rflvemxjpqfc4h4/Gmc_Sierra_Service_Manual_Repair_Manual_Fsm_2007-2009_Download.zip?dl=0

  8. Hi everyone, I just purchased a 2016 GMC Sierra SLT Crew Cab All Terrain X a few weekends ago. The AFM (Active Fuel Management) is such a pain when switching from V4 to V8 mode at low speeds (non-highway driving) because I hate the "bogging" or "hesitating" feeling the truck gives off and the exhaust tone is UGH... I had a 2007 Avalanche and used a Range Technology device to disable it. But overtime I would have to pull the device out and plug it back in because it wouldn't activate sometimes. Been reading on this forum about the Range device for the newer Sierra's and people have been having issues with them and could mess with the computer overtime. So I won't be going that route. Another option is to get a tune like BlackBear and get it disabled or set a minimum speed of when the AFM activates. But a tune isn't an option for me right now because I want to keep my warranty as long as I can. Someday BlackBear tune will in my future! So I decided to try something. For the last couple days I have been driving in Manual mode "M" and setting it to M7 (7th gear) and driving like normal (non-highway driving). I was shifting gears up ( + ) and down ( - ) because I thought that was what you were suppose to do but I found out I can just set it to M7 and not worry about shifting, it does it for me, it just doesn't go into M8 (8th gear), which I don't need when I am going less then 50mph most days. I watched it stay in V8 mode stay the WHOLE TIME! The only time it went into V4 mode was when I shifted into M8 and then I switched back to M7 and it went back into V8 mode. So I think I found a workaround without having to void my warranty with a tune or messing up my computer with a AFM disabler device. I want to get your thoughts guys, will running in Manual "M" mode ruin the transmission in anyway? Not using M8 (8th gear) for slow speeds have long term affects with that gear? I am going to do this for another week or two and report my findings. This guy is happy when my truck isn't "bogging" or "hesitating" and have full power!!!
  9. Well, I was just reading an article/post about push button 4wd. I was thinking I was pretty smart for getting the manual shift transfer case. I should have paid more attention to the poster who said auto locking hubs are still a week point. Now we are stuck on the side of the road waiting for a tow truck. The hubs went from squeal to grind in about 20-30 miles on the way back from Glacier National Park, an easy fix if I was home. So this is just a heads up if you're close to 150k miles & curious, auto locking hubs cost about a grand to replace. Manual conversion kits can be had for under $2k. Wish I had done more PM.
  10. How many 2019 GM truck owners following this forum have actually read their manuals? Not just a section here or there, but the entire manual? I am wondering this because I have been following the new generation of GM trucks since the first announcements were made. I read many rave reviews, and watched all the online reviews and comparisons on the new trucks prior to placing an order during the 1st week of December. As time passed, and the new trucks were rolling out of the dealership doors in large numbers, more & more "issues/problems" started to pop up in the forums. These trucks are sophisticated well beyond any previous generations. The systems in my loaded '15 Camaro SS pale in comparison to what's in these new trucks. Our '19 LTZ CC with 6.2, 10-speed, Max Towing, Performance Upgrade, and Trailering Camera packages is due in this week, but I downloaded an owners manual from the Chevrolet website so that I could start to familiarize myself with how everything worked. The Chevy & GMC websites also have many instructional videos that show you just how everything works, and how different systems integrate with each other. Much to my surprise, at least 2/3rds of the forum complaints with the new truck can be attributed to owners being unfamiliar with systems and settings. In many cases, the owner has a choice of what systems they want operational, and several choices of how they want them to function. Many of the ERROR messages were simply due to owners not following the instructions in the OM. What made things even worse was their dealer being just as unfamiliar, trying to troubleshoot a "problem" that wasn't a problem, just simply operational ignorance on the part of the owner and their dealership. Maybe GM should have stepped up their dealer training, and dealerships should step up their customer training. One dealer near us holds monthly new vehicle training sessions. The new trucks have also had their share of genuine issues, but a thorough understanding of the manual may have helped some of those owners to better understand how each system is supposed to operate, which may help the dealer troubleshoot the problem. These trucks are much closer to the Jetsons than the Flintstones. BEST OF LUCK WITH YOU NEW TRUCKS!
  11. Wanting to get some info and advice on doing a manual swap in my 2000 Silverado 1500 4wd
  12. Is there anywhere online or a site that you can find a full parts breakdown manual like the ones the dealers refer to when you order parts? I am searching in particular for one on a 92 GMC Sierra C1500. I have all the service manuals but would like to find a complete parts breakdown showing part numbers and such on the truck. Thanks
  13. How can I tell if it’s a master or slave cylinder going bad? Seems like on a hard pull my clutch pedal is real soft and goes to floor easy and hard to change gears. When truck sits to cool I have hard clutch pedal again? Thank you
  14. what do you guys think? I installed a reman transmission on my 2013 gmc 2500 hd. My tow haul and manual shift does not work now. The orange wire is not the problem i have another truck same model i swapped the tow haul lever over from. Before i swapped i verified my donor trucks tow haul lever worked and installed it on my problem truck just to be sure. I know my manual shift worked prior to the transmission installation because the only way i could drive it was manually shifting 1-3. could this be an internal issue with the transmission or tcm? I do have a tpms light on and traction control light on. Considering the manual shift worked before i wouldnt guess this was the problem, but after the transmission installation i swapped over the tire and rims from my donor truck onto my problem truck.
  15. Our experience with the all new Camaro has been outstandingly positive. Just last fall, GM-Trucks.com drove a 2016 Camaro SS over 1,600 miles from Minneapolis to Salt Lake City in an epic road trip. The SS turned out to be a strikingly composed vehicle. In our time with the last generation Camaro ZL1, we were equally impressed but the vehicle's extra weight made it harder to control on the track. This generation is over 200-lbs lighter. The all new ZL1 will dial this lighter generation pony car up to the proverbial "11". Specialized bodywork on the ZL1 improve aerodynamics and cooling. A larger front splitter, unique rockers, larger rear spoiler and wide front fenders are designed to keep the Camaro ZL1 stable at high speeds. A special "flow-tie" Chevrolet bowtie insignia is open to allow more airflow to the engine compartment. Inside the ZL1 has standard Recaro front seats, a suede flat-bottom steering wheel, and suede shift knob. Chevrolet's performance data recorder (PDR) is also available. The ZL1 also comes with unique 20-inch forged aluminum wheels with exclusive Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires [285/30ZR20 Front / 305/30ZR20 Rear]. Those huge tires will get help stopping with massive 15.35 inch rotors squeezed by six-piston Brembo brakes up front. 11-heat exchangers throughout the Camaro ZL1 make this four-person car track ready straight from the dealership. Pricing and availability have yet to be announced.
