Hey all, I'm back in a Chevy finally! I come from the prerunner/ high speed offroad side of things and have been building, buying, and selling a few dedicated offroad toys recently. Decided to take a break and finally got back into a Silverado and I love it so far. Thought I'd take the time to share with you my experience during these past 3 weeks of owning a 2018 Silverado. I picked up a 2wd LT 5.3L crew cab in white and the parts ordering began immediately! Of course, I had to have the aggressive offroad look so I went with the following parts: 35" BF Goodrich KM3 M/T Tires 17" Method NV Wheels King 3.0 Coilovers w/ Adjusters King 2.5 Rear Shocks w/ Adjusters Icon Uni-ball Upper Control Arms Cutting for the 35" tires proved to be quite a task since I wanted to make sure there was no contact at full bump and full lock. Although the suspension hadn't shown up, I still had to throw the new wheels and tires on! 35s on a stock Silverado just looks hilarious! TO BE CONTINUED BELOW:

Sold my 2015 Silverado a few weeks ago and bought a new GMC Sierra SLT with the z71 package and the 6.2L v8! Had the camper shell moved over and sold the Silverado to my dad. It's been a great change so far. Nicer interior so my wife and daughter enjoy it. It's much quieter with the active noise cancellation, and the thing just SCOOTS! My 5.3 that i had before was modded and would move pretty quick but this 6.2 just puts it TO SHAME. Installed an AFE Momentum GT Intake on it a few days ago and it's even better. Just cracked 1000 miles over the weekend and it's already better on gas mileage, ride quality and everything in between than the silverado was. Very excited for the modifications to come. Looking to add some fox coilovers to all 4 corners in the next week or so, which will level it out and lift the front end. Will then upgrade to 10 ply tires, probably a good bit taller than stock. (thinking about cooper at3 XLT's currently in probably 275/65R20 or 285/60R20) Then planning to put airbags on the back for towing. Still undecided on exhaust setup, but will plan to do that and probably tune it in the future as well. Anyways, heres a pic of the truck when i picked it up. i'll post some pics of the intake after installation as well.

I need help deciding for wheels and tires I dont want to cut on my truck to fit in wheels. I am looking at 265/65-18 bfg KO2 tires but cant decide if I want to stay with an 18 inch wheel. Would there be any benefit to going with a smaller wheel? Such as a 16 or 17? Also what's the max size tire I can fit with out having rubbing issues 33 Or smaller? Thanks

Long story short I was looking for a used 2010-2012 Sierra or Silverado with the 6.2L and a few options. Ended up finding a dealership who had some hail damaged trucks with blow out prices. So after a two weeks of emails with the salesmen there I made the 900 mile drive to Nebraska from Alabama. I ended up purchasing a brand new 2014 Silverado Double Cab LTZ 4x4 from Sid Dillon Chevrolet in Blair, Nebraska on November 8th 2014. The trucks sticker price was $48,625 I walked out of the dealership paying $28,000 for a brand new heavily optioned LTZ. The only options I do not have are the sunroof, navigation, max trailer and some of the special features exclusive to the high country. Currently she is sitting at 4,573 miles not a single complaint nor do I think I ever will have one. But the time has come to make her my own! Hope you all enjoy the build thread!!!
