  1. Hello all, I have searched for ideas on this, and only found a few people who installed "mood lighting" inside the bumper step. I'm wondering how simple or effective it would be to get some real reverse flood lights inside the bumper step? I know you could fill the whole cavity with a tractor light and it would work, but I'd like to still be able to use the step if I need it. So has anyone installed an LED flush mount or similar light that actually throws enough light behind them to use for backing up/ doing work? How does it fit inside the curved surface of the step? The reason is I want the ability to have light behind me for plowing snow. I already replaced the factory reverse and cargo bulbs with LEDs, I think they work fairly nice, but they throw really straight back like a spotlight. I'm hoping to have a little wider path lit up. I don't want to cut the bumper or have lights hanging down below the bumper, but I know those would be alternative options. I know there have been a lot of creative people adding auxiliary lights to their trucks, so I'm hoping someone can show how you were able to do this.
  2. Hey everyone, So I had a shop that specialize in lawn equipment, and snow equipment install a Blizzard Plow on my 2017 Silverado 1500 just a few weeks ago. I took the blow off one day and when starting my truck, I noticed both y headlights would flicker for about 30 seconds or so. I took the truck back to the shop I got the plow put on and they said that I have aftermarket headlights, which I don't... I told them the headlights are factory LED's. So they ran some tests and got another plow module to see if it was the module doing it or what. Sure enough it did the same thing. They said they are going to contact GM about the issue. They haven't gotten back to me yet but before they do, I was just wanting to ask other plow owners if they have had this issue and what they or their shop did to fix the issue. I supplied a video (below) to show exactly what they are doing. Both headlights will do it but in the video, only that one head light does it.
  3. So My current 2001 4 door Blazer plow truck/daily driver needs a ton of work. It has over 243K on the clock, very low oil pressure, a leaky heater core, cracked windshield, and multiple emissions problems that I've been leaving unfixed because I don't care (EGR, Air pump, etc.). Oh, and lots and lots of rust. Did I mention it's a 4 door, I hate 4 doors. Anyways, I saw a 1999 Two door ZR2 show up on Facebook Marketplace with 134K and an engine knock for $580 bucks with brand new tires so I immediately message the seller and went to look at it. I talked him down to $500 and towed it back to my shop. Oh, and it even had a full tank of gas. (bonus!) Sounds like a bad rod knock. Will most likely need a crankshaft, rod and rebuild, but I might be able to find a cheap used engine. I already located the correct pushplates locally to mount the fisher plow, So I'll pick those up sometime this week (they are different plates than the standard Blazer takes). Tomorrow after work I will pull the oil pan and see what actually failed. So here's a pic of the truck: and here's a picture of my current 2001 Blazer that is going to be retired (junk yard) after I keep it for a few months to rob any parts that I may need for the new one. And my beat Fisher Plow:
  4. I'll start of by admitting I'm a noob when it comes to trucks. I have a 2015 Silverado 2500HD 4x4 Z71 LTZ with stock 265/60/20's. I have a new 1/2 mile long dirt driveway (New England,) which I have to plow. I've been back and forth about whether to get A/T's or M/S's... and sizes. I'd love a recommendation. I'm looking at getting new rims as I'll go with 17" or 18". Being a dirt driveway, it also get's pretty muddy. I need a tire I can also run on highway, but a good tire for plowing is key. Appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.
  5. Anybody know of any videos showing hooking up existing auxillary beacon wires that are tucked into the ceiling?
