  1. This happened with oe radio and replacing it didn't help. I wanted to replace it anyways so that's not an issue. When I turn my truck on, 10-15% of the time, the radio does not and will not turn on. When I am driving, occasionally it will turn off and will not not turn back on. Usually happens when I actually want to listen to music. It does turn on eventually, but sometimes, it won't turn on for the whole drive and beyond. Apparently it still has constant because it remembers my Bluetooth connection and clock time. This happened far more often with the oe head unit if I remember correctly. I would love to figure this out because it's frustrating. Today it didn't come on when I started it but came on ten minutes later, only to die again when I hit the turn signal. I just got home and idled in the driveway for a bit as I typed this and now it's back on.
  2. Hi all, I have been in the vibration forums for a couple months now and have decided to make a new thread dedicated specifically to the Class Action Suit that I have been working with a lawfirm in Boston. Over the course of the last month, the firm has been actively investigating the issues many of us are seeing in our vehicles. Let me be a little more specific, They have hired outside investigators who are working with the top level partners at the firm to actively research, test, and and inspect the trucks, looking into the Vibrations, Radio Reception, and Transmission issues. I have been sending them any and all information that I come across, that is sent to me or posted in the forums that could potentially help them. In the mean time, I am and have been taking names, email addresses, phone numbers, trucks, locations (city & state) and if you have yet to rid yourself of the truck (trade or otherwise), and now what your issue(s) are/ were. It doesn't matter if you have gotten rid of your truck or not, at worst we may only be able to use your case, at best, we may be able to get you some form of compensation (I can not say for sure, that is up to the attorneys to figure out, what extent that this can go) If you would like to be added to the rapidly growing list of people who wish to be contacted please send me a PM with the information mentioned above. (please note: I can not guarantee the attorneys will contact you, however the more people who join the list, the more powerful the case, and the better off we are) Good Luck with your trucks, Jesse D. ------EDIT------ I decided to combine the yes and and about to send information to Jesse D. into one line item. those of you that have sent me your info or those who were in the about to category please resubmit your vote to the correct line. those of you who haven't voted but already sent me your info, please submit your vote, i would like to try to keep this as accurate as possible. I do have some names from people I have talked to who are not on the forum, so I know it will never be 100%. Thank you Jesse D.
  3. My 2014 Silverado High Country is just about a year old, with 8100 miles. My wonderful $55K truck that I (mostly) love. I took it in for its second oil change and service today to my nearest GMC dealer, where I had previously taken it for two recalls and an oil change. Today, I wanted my second oil change, and I'm also having the rust issues described in this thread. These are pictures of my actual truck underside, showing some of the rusted areas underneath. So the GMC dealer refuses to look at the rust issues, though he is willing to do the oil change. He says GM will not allow him to work on the rust. I told him thanks but no thanks on the oil change, I will just take it back to my selling dealer who is 20 miles away. Question 1: Does GM really prohibit GMC dealers to work on Chevy on some warranty work and not others. Then I drive out to my selling Chevy dealer. They are unable to fit me in today; I have to make an appointment. I raised the rust issue to the service tech., plus another issue I am having with Pandora and the radio going in and out. So he says I'll need to bring it back leave the truck with them for a day (or possibly two, if I drop it off on a Saturday). I say ok, can you give me a loaner if you have to keep it? He says sorry, we can put you in a rental you have to pay for, because GM will not cover loaners for this sort of issue. Also, for that rust issue, I will need to have a manager to look at it to "see what we can do for you". The manager may or may not be in when you come by. Question 2: There is clearly visible rust in many, many spots on a 1 year old $55K truck. Does GM really need a manager to evaluate the rust to stand behind its product? Is that the way to empower its front-line employees? Question 3: When I owned a Hyundai Santa Fe, Hyundai would put me in a loaner if they ever had to keep the car for a day or more. That was a $26K SUV, and Hyundai never ever balked at standing behind their warranty, and providing loaners. Is this GM not standing behind its product or these two dealers?
