John Goreham Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com 12-19-2018 General Motors is bringing back its OnStar Santa tracker with a little help from NORAD. This Christmas Eve, folks with an OnStar subscription can keep track of Santa's progress across the globe with a touch of the blue OnStar button. “Each year we receive thousands of Santa Update requests,” said Stacey Unold, director of Contact Center Operations supporting Chevrolet. “It's a fun way for Chevrolet owners to use technology to connect their families with important information about Santa's journey and spread holiday cheer.” The first 10,000 touches of that OnStar button to check on Santa will also result in GM donating $1 to the American Red Cross. So, press away, it all goes to a good Claus. Cause.

John Goreham Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com 12-19-2017 As you and the kiddies head to grandmother's house this Christmas Eve, GM's OnStar will help build the excitement with live location updates for St. Nick and his sleigh. NORAD's tracking will be used to follow the progress of Santa. If your General Motors vehicle has an OnStar subscription, just touch the blue OnStar button and the live location update will play. To help keep the rugrats from being up all night the location message will also have a reminder that the Jolly man will only come after everyone is sound asleep. GM is planning to donate$1.00 to the American Red Cross every time a Santa location request is made. The company says it receives thousands of location requests each year.
