I drive a 2014 gmc sierra crew cab. bought it with a clunk in the rear and have since then replaced the leaf spring hangers (because one snapped in half), and the shackles. i have also greased the leaf springs with suspention grease, along with everything else that could be greased. Tried cleaning them numerious times. have also retourqued everything along with u-bolts. But still no joy. Never trully thought it was the leaf springs becasue of how it feels and sounds. you can really hear it when driving over cracks, bumps, newly patched road. almost like when my rear end drops back down, something in the suspention is loose or worn and clunks due to it dropping faster than the worn part so a clunk occurs. hard to explain but i have been told to replace the shocks. i truly dont think it's the springs but if anyone had any ideas i would help out greatly, thanks.

I know the 6112s are semi-new to the community. My question is what would be the lowest possible notch I can install these and still have enough clearance to fit 275X 65R 20 KO2s. I’d imagine the notch settings are similar to the 5100s accept there is 1 extra notch I believe. I have been searching online for the past week and cannot find anyone that confirms the lowest possible setting to fit these tires. I know I can install them at the highest setting and fit just fine, But I am trying to keep rake in the rear due to occasional towing and i do not want to add a leveling block to the rears. I was thinking the third notch (1.25” of lift) would work but I’m not sure if It will get rubbing. Does anyone have any idea on this? I currently have a 2.5 inch leveling spacer but do not want to install it when I switch to the Bilstein 6112s. Thanks!

Hi there. Happy owner of a 2018 Silverado 2500 HD lt z71 crew cab 6.0l Vortec Rancho shocks came with the Z71 package on the truck I own, and I've heard that the same model truck without the Z71 package rides MUCH better. I use the 4wd in deep snow/ice as well as in high Sierra mountain ranges so I do appreciate a stiffer suspension for navigating ruts and ditches, but living in the city with all it's potholes as well as that my lady is disabled and needs a softer ride while riding in the truck. I am wondering if there is a way to make my truck ride softer? Are adjustable shocks something I can adjust on the fly or will I have to get out my tools and time? I am curious to know if adjustable shocks would make my truck ride nice and forgiving when my lady is my passenger and something I can adjust when I need the stiffness to haul for work and for the truck camper. Maybe a set of Sulastic Springs? Will I have to replace the springs or leaf springs as well? I am looking for the easiest way to remedy this issue. Maybe just use the stock shocks that come with the truck without the Z71 package? Air bags? I don't know, thats why I am asking all of you. My lady and I use the truck together when we camp, road trip and adventure but the stiff bouncy ride is making our adventures less frequent. I would appreciate some straight forward helpful feedback. Will replacing my shocks void any warranties? and please don't feel the need to blast this post with comments like ; " why'd you buy a truck" "it's a truck" "get her a Lexus" Thank you
