  1. Hi all, I'm new here and hoping y'all will be able to help give me some direction. I have a '15 Yukon XL Denali with the 6 speed MYC transmission and almost 140k miles, my transmission has begun shuddering when I'm driving between 25-35 miles an hour, does not seem to do this at really any other speeds. I spoke with a dealer who said their suggestion is just to go ahead and replace the transmission, this feels a little extreme at this point since Im not having hard shifts etc. I've owned the vehicle for the last year and put about 27k miles on it in a year. I have no records of any previous transmission maintenance and the fluid looked good when we purchased it. I know that dropping the pan is a pain in the neck, but I'm thinking that I need to change the filter since I have no idea how old it is. Husband is out of town and I'm wanting to get this dealt with ASAP. I'm pretty capable of doing a flush or dropping the pan if I have a good write up to follow, so any advice would be much appreciated. Also, what fluid have y'all had good luck with? Thanks, Jenn
  2. I just purchased a 2011 gmc 2500hd Denali with 157000 miles on it. When the rpms are just below 2000 the needle spikes to 2000 and drops back, as if surging. It downshifts fine. If you try to gradually accelerate at that point it shudders as if in to low a gear. I have not tried pulling anything with this truck yet, but wanted to get an idea whether or not I have a serious problem or not. I took it it to a dealer to have a diagnostics ran on it and the tech couldn’t get power to the tester, so before I tackle that issue I wanted to see if I had a major issue. According to some of these forums this looks to be a issue on a lot of newer trucks. any experience with this issue would help. Thanks
  3. At about 5,000 miles, our 2015 GMC Yukon XL SLT started to shudder and hesitate when stopped at a stoplight. We are now at 17,000 miles and the problem has gotten worse. Feels like the vehicle is about to stall. We are using the correct fuel type. Each visit to GMC dealer says that they have not received a repair bulletin from GM although they are asking for one. I am not the only one with this issue, but GM refuses to address the problem and come up with a fix. Last time they did something to the engine mounts (an existing repair bulletin) but it did not fix the issue at all. If you are having this same issue please join a forum and report the problem. Please also report the problem to your dealer. We are very unhappy that a new vehicle has this issue. Maybe the transmission needs to be replaced? The shuddering happens less if we put the vehicle in park at a stoplight, but it still happens. How long could this vehicle possibly last if within 5,000 miles there is this issue. Now at 17,000 miles the shuddering is getting even worse. But still no fix from GM. I thought we were "Professional Grade". Any comments or suggestions appreciated, but whatever GM has already put out there is not helping anything. I can't believe we spent that kind of money and have this issue.
  4. I hope this info is helpful to others. My 2009 Sierra SLE (4x4 crew cab, 5.3L) started shuddering a few weeks ago when it entered 3rd and 4th gear. It was especially pronounced when going uphill or on hard acceleration. I suspected the torque converter based on other posting I've seen here on the board. I called the GMC customer service center (the truck has 47K miles and is still under warranty) and was very pleased with how they handled my case. The customer service rep (Joan) took all my info and had me on hold while she set up a diagnostic appointment with the closest dealership. I took it in and it turns out the torque converter needs to be replaced. Joan called me back right after I spoke to the dealer and told me everything was covered by warranty, how long it would take and when she would call again to follow up. I'm almost 50 years old and looking back on all the vehicles I've owned, I can't think of any car dealership that has gone to that level of effort for their customers- especially if a warranty claim was involved. My advice to others who are having mechanical problems on a vehicle is to start with GMC customer service...my experience has, so far, been excellent. I'd also like to say thanks to all the other folks who take the time to post to this board...I can't begin to list all the helpful info, tips and tricks I've discovered just by reading through the forums.
