  1. Little bit of progress on my build. Next up is Dirt King tubular upper control arms and Eibach pro stage 1 spring and strut with 2.5" up front.
  2. Hey all, I am wanting to get my truck out on some trails and set up more for Overlanding. To protect my investment on this truck I am looking to add underbody protection and some side protection. I found a post a little while back with all the GM part numbers for all the skid plates. I can't seem to find that now and was hoping somebody would have a copy. I am also looking for Rock Sliders. I for the life of me cannot find a company that makes them for my truck. I want wheel to wheel sliders, no need for steps but if the sliders stuck out far enough to be steps then thats a plus. I just don't want anything that will get stuck on a rock or stump because it sticks out. I have a 2017 Sierra 1500 Double Cab Regular Box (6'6).
  3. I bought the 3 piece Underbody Shield (Part No. 23176882) a few weeks ago and had all 3 pieces powder-coated a matte red color that would match the red in the GMC emblem.. Fast forward to trying to install them last week and 2 of the 3 fit no problem, however the 3rd (which is the largest & most prominent one visually) did not appear to fit. The back bolt locations line up perfectly where it meets the other plate, however the front piece looks like it isn't long enough or shaped/angled correctly to reach what appeared to be the obvious locations for the provided threaded bolts. This Part No. as a standalone is 23135960 (GM OEM Engine Skid Plate). My question is this: Does this item actually not fit? I understand the Denali trim level has a different lower bumper due to the LED fogs, but did GM seriously over-engineer this to the point that the internals/bolt patterns & cross members don't match up for these?!? Hoping someone can provide me some input of confirm I'm just being an idiot & that there is a way to make this fit, because I really want to get this installed or find the proper replacement ASAP..
  4. I bought the GM aluminum and steel skid plates for some extra armor but I was wondering if anyone has found a transmission pan skid or a gas tank skid plate. The gas tank one could probably be easily made with an aluminum piece that conveniently sits by the side of the road in construction areas, but the transmission pan seems a bit more hard. Ideas? Experience?
  5. I know a lot of people are running black rims on white trucks and blacked out black trucks and color matching etc. I decided to go old school chrome (lux) look. I made this happen on the front end by swapping out my black front bumper skid shield with the denali chrome one. I also as some of you may know, whited out my badges with reflective vinyle (see profile pic) and decided on chrome rims, exception, these rims are powder coated and flashed for the exact same look as chrome except they clean up just like paint. soap and water and wax. So this may not be for all but it takes me back a bit while still be modern. By the way, to remove this and replace. off comes the under grill molding, the radiator shroud, the front grill, the front bumper, remove both bumper backing plates remove and replace skid plate. i followed these instructions... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-do4lHsbydM
  6. So the other day I tried to get to a parking spot and had to go over a snow pile to get to a parking spot and thought I had the ground clearance but the stupid plastic skirt under the front bumper got caught and got pulled off. So now I'm thinking do I replace it, leave it as is, or do an upgrade. I'm not thinking about a full bumper replacement but something like a skid plate or maybe a winch mount? Let me know if you have any ideas and pictures and prices would be great if you have done one yourself. First two pictures are of my truck, next are some ideas I'm thinking of
  7. Hey everyone, Has anyone found a metal skid plate to replace the plastic ones that came from the factory on 2014-2015 Silverado 4wd? I've found quite a few that are specifically for lifted applications, but none for stock or level height.
  8. I have a 2015 GMC Sierra and was wondering how or if it's even possible to remove the skid plate (part #22902312/22902313/22902314) without removing the entire bumper. Also note that I have tow hooks so I'm not sure how different it is than without. I have seen plenty of videos out there on how to remove the bumper as a whole which is what I should be doing in the first place, but it would be nice to remove just the skid plate which I can't seem to find anything online about. Sorry if there's already a post about this but if it exists I wasn't able to find it. I already have the air deflector taken off permanently and I looked under my truck and removed the bolts on the bottom of the skid plate and some other miscellaneous bolts from behind that I really couldn't tell if they actually held the skid plate there or not. I also noticed some clips at the top of the skid plate but before breaking anything and removing a bunch of bolts for nothing, I thought I would come here first and ask. Thanks.
