  1. 2017 sierra A/T crew cab I have the most annoying tick noise over bumps, coming from the b pillar behind my left ear and it is driving me brick house, I've pulled at the trim off put my hands on everything made sure everything is tight, stuff rags in between contact points, I've run out of ideas, anyone have an guidance for me, I'm a ex gm technician of 5 years , I know what I'm doing but of course my own truck baffles me..per usual any new bulletins or tsbs?
  2. My 2014 Silverado has developed an unbelievable rattle in the cab. I would swear up and down it is in the center of pillar A on the passenger side. Has anyone else had this problem? I have it took apart right now, and I cannot find where it is coming from. Its going to drive me crazy. Any help would be very appreciated.
  3. Hi all, First post. Just wanted to share this story and get feedback and see if others have had a similar experience. At approximately 70,000 kms I started noticing an engine tick. At first I assumed it was some sort of direct injection noise. It got worse. Eventually I lost almost all power and I brought the truck in to the dealer for servicing. I was told that I had a bent push rod on cylinder #4. That was replaced and nothing else. I questioned why this happened and I was told it is common. At 85,000 kms the tick returned/got worse. Again I brought the truck to the dealer. Eventually (after a few arguments) they decided to replace valves/lifters on the 4 AFM cylinders, and they found another bent push rod. When I went to pick up the truck, the noise was still there. They completed further diagnostics and found scuffing on 2 pistons. They called GM and they said to replace the engine. Full engine replacement! Any thoughts, comments on this? I haven't got the truck back yet - waiting on engine to be replaced. Matt
  4. I have a sound coming from the front end of my 2005 Silverado 4x4 that happens only after it has been driven 10-15 Miles (Hot) and sounds like a rotational crunching sound (some could call a clicking or maybe popping) It seems to only happen while I am at Low speeds coming to a stop only. I don’t seem to hear anything abnormal while accelerating or cruising and when I begin to brake there’s no issue (brakes feel/work great) but only when I get down to around 10 miles an hour (crunching 2-3 times per tire rotation) It’s really hard to pinpoint what side of the truck but it sounds to be about the same from both sides. I have done a bunch of work including replacing front CV axle’s, front brakes, front differential service, transfer case service, lubed rear slip yoke, inspected/tested actuator for front differential engagement, and spent hours attempting to diagnose and inspect the entire Front end and drivetrain. The crazy thing is I got the Sound to go away completely after The night I had replaced the front CV axle’s, and brake pads and then put about 300-400 miles on it (took camping loaded up and drive and brakes worked fantastic) and now the sound has come back!?... I really am getting very confused and discouraged on where to go next? I guess I was thinking of getting it to act up and then removing the front driveshaft to see if the sound continues and I guess that would help determine if its a possible driveshaft or u-joint issue or maybe front differential or transfer case issue? Sorry for the long post I just want to put as much info as I can and THANK YOU ?? in advance for any help I can get I really appreciate it! I have good videos of the issue but the files are too large to upload on this post but I could email them to somebody if they’re willing to watch? THANK YOU!
