  1. I have 2014 Silverado crew cab and I’m noticing water leaking from under the dash. We had a pretty good rain today and I go to get in my truck and my floor mat had a good amount of water sitting on it and I could see water dripping from up under the dash. Good thing I have weather-tech mats. But I’m running into dead ends trying to figure out how it’s getting in. It’s not the sunroof, it’s not the fin (my headliner isn’t getting wet so it can’t be the fin?) I’ve checked my pillar while it was raining and no water running down it. I read something before about a guy who had a bad weld under the cowl could be letting it in? Or could it possibly be the edges of the windshield leaking? Just looking for any answer here. When I look up under the dash to see where it’s coming from I can see that there is a opening where the leather and firewall material were cut from the factory and it is wet when I put my hand up there, like the material used for the firewall is wet. But my question is, how is it getting there? I will upload pics tomorrow for reference to what I’m talking about. Thanks ahead of time.
  2. I chased a water leak issue which ultimately was coming from two sources... Leak #1 - In the fall of last year I had my back window shattered by a rock. Being a sliding window, the entire back window had to be replaced. My assumption is that Safelite could only source an aftermarket one at the time or that was a cost savings for them. It wasn't until this March or April when I went to do some spring cleaning that I noticed that my front driver's side carpet was constantly wet. After days of leaving the carpet pulled up to dry I returned to Safelite. The tech that I worked with was great and identified that the aftermarket model was missing a dam at the bottom of the slider. This was sending the water straight across the sliding rail and down into the cab. The shattered window’s replacement warranty was replaced with an OEM window. The tech advised that they would be submitting a quality alert to the company. I had to hustle out of the appointment but I tried to grab a shot of the defective unit, the sun did not work in my favor. Where the arrow points to there should be a little piece of plastic sticking up (the dam) that keeps the water directed towards the weep hole and not into the cab. Leak #2 - The rear cab vents appeared to be worn out at the bottom. Likely exacerbated by the fact that I have a cover on my bed and park on a slightly downhill angle at work every day, the water would come down the back of the cab and collect around the bottom of the vent and work its way into the cab. Replacement vents obtained and installed. Obviously there are 1000s of possible leak locations in a vehicle but I thought I would give my experiences, which I solved in part from some other posts on this forum.
  3. 43,000 miles on my 2020 3500 HD Silverado, I found water leaking in the rear window at the top of the frame. I called the dealer they said they would have to remove the headlines but suspected it was a bad seal they might have to replace the window. I took it to a. Auto glass replacement company I trust the technician said it is most likely leaking around the bolts that hold on the 3rd brake light assembly. He said a friend has a 2019 Silverado under warrantee the dealer removed the headliner and sealed the bolts that hold the 3rd brake light. I also saw a U Tube video on how to remove the headliner and reseal the bolts. Has anyone else had this problem please let me know.
  4. i just noticed a water leak on my new truck, i just got to the dealer service department to make a service appointment. While talking to the service advisor i ask him about whats going to happen with the headliner that has obvious damage due to water, he said they going to clean it and that they will not replace it with a new one. I wonder how soak my seats got before i noticed the issue. there's any one that had this issue before that can give me guidance during this process that I already hate? thanks everyone!!!!
  5. Got into my 2014 Silverado to find about a cup of water pooled on the floor mat with some also on the e-break pedal. Couldn't see a source look up behind the dash. Dried it out in the garage overnight and went back this morning to run a hose over it for about 15 minutes. After about fifteen minutes of consistent water over the windshield, windshield seal, door seals, and shark fin - I didn't see any water behind the dash (looked up and through fuse panel). About two hours later I found the water you see in the photos on imagur. In the much more level garage the water seemed to be leaking more to the right of the e-break just below that blue wiring harness. Still didn't see any water looking up in the dash. https://imgur.com/a/zK21HxT any ideas?
  6. When it rains I get water collecting under the drivers side door mat.
  7. Hello! Had a question regarding a water leak on the passenger of my 2004 5.3 Silverado. Initially I thought I had a leak due to the rain. Upon stripping the the carpet, air cabin filter cover and inspecting for a leak yesterday when it rained, there was no leak until I turned the a/c on. You can see in the picture I attached where the leak is coming from. I had a roll cage installed when I was out of the country for six months and have no idea if they accidently ripped off a tube that's suppose to re-direct water from that perfectly positioned hole. Don't think its the heater core because a/c and heater work well, and my cabin doesn't smell of anti freeze. Someone have ant idea? Thanks in advance!
  8. Hello- I have a 2015 Suburban that is leaking water. It is primarily contained in the middle row seatbelt, driver's side. I don't think it is coming in from underneath because the seatbelt gets wet when the car is sitting in the rain. I saw a post on this forum about the same issue, but didn't see a solution at this point. Is this a known issue? Thank you, Steve
