Chevy4x4trucks asked about oncerts on another thread, so I'll start one about concerts. Aw heck, musicals\plays too! :)

I've been to a couple, but, not as a concert goer, I went as the son of a person who works for the merchandiser. :D

I got to see:

-The Grateful Dead

- Reba Macintire

- the O-Jays

- Frank Sinatra (Interesting story, this was his last concert in Richmond, and he had a passed out on stage during the performance, and had to cut theconcert short)

and

-Def Lepard

Plays (as an employees son)

-Les Miserables

-Cats

Now as a concert-goer......

Play:

The Nut Cracker (With the Richmond Symphony Orchestra)

Concerts:

-Free concert @ VA beach over the weekend in August last year. Tonic was there, Jimmies chicken shack, and a cool band called "Bootsie Merango".

My mom has merchandised over 500 concerts.  I'll see if I can get her to spit some of them out.

Well, I posted mine in the movies one, but I'll put it in here too:

NonPoint/Sevendust/Fuel:  Saw them saturday night (12-8-01) at the rave in Milwaukee.  Great concert.  It's a lot of heavy rock and if you've never been to the rave it's essentially standing room on the floor and standing room in the balcony w/ a few seats.  It gets really crowded.  I didn't stay for fuel since I don't like any of there songs.  But the rest of the concert was great.  The crowd gets pretty rowdy, but it's a lot of fun.

Metallica:  Saw Metallica almost two years ago at the Bradley Center.  Very good concert, been a big fan of them for years now and I've got every CD and can honestly say know just about every song.  The good thing about seeing them when I did is that it was probably there last trip to Milwaukee ever since the band is all but broken up now w/ Jason Newsted gone and James just got out of rehab.  Who knows where they'll be in the next year.  But they did have a long run, a lot longer than most of the bands you see.

Never been to a musical or play that wasn't local, but I do enjoy going to those and I would like to go to at least one professional one sometime.

Dec. 15, Aerosmith, Think they will be good?   :)

I saw them a few years ago on the Nine Lives Tour and it was a really good show.  IMO the best part was when Joe Perry came out with a semi-hollow body Gibson ES-335 guitar and played and sang a couple old blues songs.  That was awesome, but the whole show was really good.  Especially the classic Aero songs from the 70's.

Concerts:

Santana (1974, first and by far the worst!)

Emerson, Lake, and Palmer

Chicago (blew)

Jen Luc Ponty (not bad, but sound sytem sucked)

Bunch more I can't remember tonight.

Plays:

Only one, Funny Girl.  Why oh why couldn't my mom have left me at the hotel!  Why did I have to sit through all that torture!  BTW, I HATE musicals, movies or plays...

Been to a dozen or so concerts, but the most memorable was Eric Clapton (think it was 1993).

My wife blackmailed me into going to a musical play at a local university last year.  A traveling actors outfit was in town performing "Brigadoon".  Actually enjoyed it-they had alot of neat stage effects and the music was good.  That's the only play/musical I've been to.
