Gmac Lease Buyot Negotiations

Recommended Posts

Has anyone had any recent success in negotiating a better buyout price for their 07 Silverado or equivalent? My dealer said to call GMAC about 1 month before end of term and they might talk.

Not worth the effort at this time...they won't budge cuz the #'s are good at the auctions.

When i tried 2 months ago the dealer would have had to pay more than my buyout if they were to buy it...so we did it in my name and traded it.

Side note...i am in Canada so it may be different in the US.

Dealer said they send all lease returns back and try to buy them thru the auction...usually less than the buyout so the whole process dos not make sense.

I've tried on 2 of my Wifes cars (Grand Prix & Grand Am) I told GMAC I'm offering more than they would likely get at auction, they said "you signed a contract with a pre determined price, pay it or turn the car in"....let's see how I do when her '08 Saturn aura is up, so far I like the car and would buy it out for myself and let her get that pricey import she wants (Porsche Boxter/ Acura TL)

Mine went from a big SUV 4x4 lifted 6 inches 1996 Burb to a 2005 Mustang Convertable. Kids grew up and did not need to cart them around, now all the kids are out of the house and the Camaro has come out. I think we might be getting a Camaro vert when they are available. She wants a Nicky Camaro right now.........ya right like she's going to get one of those!!

Can't afford the sports car she wants with the truck payment, the buyout would be much lower than the truck, this will losen up enough cash to get what she wants. I worked for a Porsche dealer and was able to take cars home....the Boxster is the only Porsche I brought home that we could even come close to owning.....I also brought home the Boss's '69 Camaro Z/28, she said it was too noisey :uhoh:

You have to pay what your contract says. If the vehicle does not go to auction you can go in the next day and buy your own vehicle back. My sister van buy out was @$24,ooo. She went back 2 weeks later, bought her own car back for $14,ooo plus tax, and they threw in extended warranty. Worth the wait. steve
